Battle.net The Current Season snapshot has been added back to the Profile summary.
StarCraft Burning Tide has been republished and is once again available for play in the custom games section of the StarCraft section.
Bug Fixes
General Asset loading performance has been improved. Fixed a number of crashes, desyncing issues, and file corruption that could occur when attempting to play games on Arcade. The AlternateLowTextures variable has been re-enabled in variables.txt. Manually-bound hotkeys now properly override grid hotkeys. Bonus Combat Attributes that use negative values now work properly. Increased and decreased weapon speeds effects are now displaying their proper red or green text color. Using triggers to change ownership of Protoss buildings no longer results in some buildings remaining unpowered. Rich Vespene Geysers now properly return 6 gas per trip instead of 8. The Graphics Options Changed indicator now properly displays next to the Options menu item. Fixed a UI error that would occur when viewing the Load Menu. The frame rate value displayed in the CTRL + ALT + F overlay and the Menu display are now consistent. Fixed an issue where shadows on the Hyperion appeared in lower resolutions in the background of the Battle.net UI Fixed an issue where item stack amounts would not increase or decrease properly. Fixed an issue where damage shield buffs were not displaying a status bar if their buff duration was zero.
Battle.net
BattleTags now populate in the real name section for BattleTag friends. Chat that is entered into the Party chat window now displays as a whisper to members of the party that are in-game. The count of bookmarks that have been used or remain available for use now properly appears in the Arcade Bookmarks page. Republishing a StarCraft map as an Arcade map without changing the map name no longer causes the map to display in the wrong area. Date formats now display in the proper format according to region. The league icon displayed in the Quick Match page is now centered. Fixed an issue where the Show More button would stop functioning when navigating between the Create Game and Join Game tabs. Fixed an issue where logging in with a Starter Edition account would sometimes cause the client to become unresponsive.
Races
Zerg Units that are morphing no longer have a chance to become stuck and frozen in their cocoon state if they are beneath a Hatchery.
Mac Textures on the Mar Sara tileset no longer paint improperly in the Editor. CPU usage is now optimized while streaming data. Fixed an issue in certain localized clients where special characters would display improperly in custom hotkey profiles.

This. So much this. I mean, Middle/Smallest/Biggest, who the fuck came up with that?
I hope that when this hits EU (if it hasn't already) that it sorts out the terrible lag issues I've had recently.

I have never heard it said that way in my life, You would literally say It is the "17'th of September, 2012", as the normal standard here and id bet in most of europe.
"Thats how everyone says it" is an arrogant and wrong statement unless you count "everyone" as being the population of the US

England came up with that. It was used there until the 20th century, apparently.
There's nothing inherently wrong with giving the month before the day and doing so follows spoken convention (most people would say it's Monday, September [the] 17th, 2012 and not Monday, the 17th of September, 2012). The only problem arises when not everyone agrees to use it as the standard. Obviously, the small endian format (dd-mm-yy[yy]) is widely used around the world since, when not everyone shares a common language, there is a universal pattern (comforting!) in it.
As always, the U.S. is slow to conform to international standards. Although I think switching to the metric standard immediately would've been awesome, I kinda like month first. When you work with recent documents, the month is the most informative piece of the date.

This part is false. In the US and I hear it both ways fairly often, not to mention some EU dude a couple posts above you just stated that everyone he knows in his area says it the other way.

Well, despite living in Reading for two and a half years, the only time I've ever heard "the #th of Month" is in the poem about the Gunpowder Plot. As far as the United States goes, I can only say that I've never heard it said that way in California.
Edit: Saying Great Britain is just as vague as saying the United States, so I got more specific.

I always say "the 17th of September."
Point is, it's a regional thing. It's not a case of which is better, that's a ridiculous internet debate that's a waste of everyone's time and appears occasionally so people with nothing to do can argue over something pointless. The problem is that the EU server (and KR? I dunno, don't play there) used MM/DD/YYYY which is just confusing as hell if that's not what you're used to, never mind ambiguous for dates like 01/05/2012. If you're going to use a number format, you use the one used in the region (i.e. DD/MM/YYYY in EU), but preferably you just say "DD MMM YYYY" where MMM is a text-representation of the month, localised into the client's language, so there's absolutely no confusion whatsoever. As such, in text on the internet where it might not be clear, you say "17 Sep. 2012".
But if they don't do that, they should at least localise.
edit: or YYYY-MM-DD, 'cause I don't know of anywhere that uses YYYY-DD-MM.
Asset loading performance has been improved. Fixed a number of crashes, desyncing issues, and file corruption that could occur when attempting to play games on Arcade. The AlternateLowTextures variable has been re-enabled in variables.txt.
These 3 are so awesome i can finnally play arcade again, i wont lag at start of game and i can get my old textures back! This patch is going to be full of win if it works!
Was really stupid that they took that out to begin with. That was half the reason anyone even bothered to look at someone else's profile in the first place.

I beg to differ. Should the patch do what it claims it does, it could reinstate the portion of the community (myself included) that got de-facto banned from the game due to performance issues.
TL;DR version: Asset loading performance has been improved. The AlternateLowTextures variable has been re-enabled in variables.txt. BattleTags now populate in the real name section for BattleTag friends. CPU usage is now optimized while streaming data.

Why not Year / Month / Day ? Right now like everybody said, it's always confusing when it comes to small number below 12. I don't know about you, but it always pissed me off. I'm so glad this is getting fixed.

thanks for sharing. this looks pretty decent. glad they re-added that snapshot. the current profile page had barely any useful information on it, and no one-click to the divisions, which sucked
the patch is so interesting to people that the discussion quickly derailed into an argument over proper date formatting? I thought there would be much more interesting things to discuss and glad we got a mod warning to put the discussion back in line!
I'm very interested to hear if this patch fixes the performance issues and if it means that we can stop using the unit preloader map before playing now. One can hope.

Wasn't this supposedly fixed in the last patch, or did 1.5.2 not solve that issue? I hadn't noticed it between now and then.
Well guys, we've come a long way. It seems this is the balance intended for Starcraft 2.
And if this is the balance for Starcraft 2, this game sucks. Games aren't exciting to spectate, nor play. Have a nice day, and good luck with your starcraft careers.

Donno about other asian countries, but in china we use YYYY-MM-DD, even in every day conversation, because our months are spoken with numbers so everything is really short. I would say its probably the most "scientific" way of saying it, as if you named files on your computer yyymmdd, then arrange-by-name=arrange-by-date...
Other than that, I heard this patch was catered to MVP, he was owning zerg so no raven buff needed, and he had a pet peeve with the date display, so they fixed that asap

No mention of the fact that demotions have been removed from the game outside of placement matches. But I guess they don't have to, since no one will even notice. Personally I think it's a huge change.

Personally, that is not huge at all (playing in diamond league since season 3 and was never promoted nor demoted), but for the system its indeed huge.

The statement is not incorrect. It's even officially as a consequence the encouraged format in the US military. Although the NATO data format is CCYY/MM/DD. Which is in my nerdy opinion the superior notation.
Either way it's a good change, software should use the system locale, so everyones happy, regardless of how senseless the national convention. TL should really be doing the same (or using korean format ), at least the written months avoid confusion in the first half of the month.

I am so glad that the current season ranking is displayed.
The 1.5.1? patch only showed the best ranking achieved. Then I have to click for the career, placement, ladder, current season, etc only to find out that they are currently in plat (instead of diamond which was the highest achieved).

Not really. The new textures (for the "low" detail settings) look better while saving a bit of memory (because they come without an alpha channel.) This variable can be reset to revert back to the old "low" look, but the old look does not perform better.

Did they fix the mouse sensitivity bar? => What to fix? ._.
New profile page is much improved, one small problem though - the "bars" for wins and total games played overlap each other, so if you haven't played very many games, the words "X Wins" and "X Games" cross over each other, essentially making both of them unreadable. If there are a lot of games played/won, it looks fine.

Hopefully this means I don't have to use the Unit Preloader every time I restart SC2.
This is actually something I'm fairly curious about. If that is the case I'm sure Blizzard took the point after all the time that map has spent in the top ten.

Hypothetically speaking, im guessing another name change will come in a while. They gave two so far and the game has been out for 2 years so maybe later on this year? I am hoping for some too :D

I think they should fix this "team favored" when it is a 1v1. Also the result screen speaks about teams. A 1-man team hardly is a team, the game should say "player" in this case, not "team".
Does anybody else have problems with the game being unbearably bright after the patch? I just downloaded it and played a game on condemned ridge, it looked like this: and for some reason it's impossible to adjust my gamma, although I doubt it's related to that, as it's been where it is for months. Nothing else in the graphics options seems to help either.

I couldn't see a specific note about it but did they fix the language pack thing yet? I would like to be able to drop my bat file for swapping out variables.txt files!

That looks like a texture glitch.
I had the same problem. Setting the graphics settings to default and lowering the settings again fixed it for me.
really blizzard... how hard can it be to realase an interface that isn't buggy and glitchy? this will again not be fixed until the next patch, which will be months away. -_-

These 3 are so awesome i can finnally play arcade again, i wont lag at start of game and i can get my old textures back! This patch is going to be full of win if it works!
Loading still causes lag(didnt pre-patch) Arcade is still crashing (didnt pre-patch) Third one is ok.
This season snapshot looks worse then the old one. Just go back to the way profiles looked before the shitty UI changes. Numbers overlapping looks crap and the career shit is still there, remove it I don't want master stars that don't have the top 8 master icon on them on my profile. If I want to see somebodies career finishes I will go onto there career page where it actually shows what position they got rather then just the league.
It also gets the people who get carried into master in 4v4 etc an excuse to say they are master in "teamgames" even though they could never get master in 2v2 with a random ally, most probably couldnt never get diamond. Bunching 2v2 in with 4v4 is a joke, why not just trow 1v1 in there too so everyone can get carried into 4v4 master and call themselves masters. Come on blizzard I actually thought you listened to the community, this is ridiculous.
I had over 800 wins within the first half of last season before the UI changes, I have only played 100 games since. I only have about half as many friends online whenever I log in since the patch then before. There is no longer an incentive to stay 1st in every league when everyone is getting called a masters player and your being called the same.

Do you still care about the profile in an online-game? There will always be a lot of ways to abuse it.
wow new patch and now i dont only have huge lags in big battles (which blizz added in the last patch), this time blizzard added a constant delay of about half a second now too.....amazing job bliz haha really well done.....holy fuck i can t believe they fucked it up even more......

I have the same thing. Settings to default then redo them works but you can't apply hybrid settings else you have the bug again. So now we have to wait for a 1.5.3 compatible hybrid settings in order to play without lags again...
Does anyone know how to set simplifiedCloaking and simplifiedShaders to 0? Everytime I set them so it is reseted to 1. Even if I use "only read" for variables.txt I still cant see badges in game, like I did at 1.5.2
I used to play in the best graphics configuration. After this patch, I can only play in the lowest. I'm not sure if it is the patch or something else on my computer. Anyone experiencing crashes during games? I have a black screen with audio and need to reboot.
im getting delayed response times like im playing on the koean server. ping is @ 8ms, just started today though i cant figure out what the fuck is wrong with it

Same problem here, I keep messing up my marine splits because of it

Behold! It's the sacred overlord!
By the way, I've never had good fps above stable 50 on the highest settings on modern pcs.
