Perhaps eSF or similar will turn into a legitimate players association in the future. One can hope atleast.
The A-teamers are probably happy that they have some sort of regular income, even though it's not much. The B-teamers... well, I don't know... maybe they are too scared to leave the security of the team, even though they gain little from it compared to the cost they pay, maybe they do believe that going with one of the big teams is still the way.
I guess Kespa should have seen this coming. You can't just jump into the sc2 scene and expect to boss everyone around, especially since Gom was bending over backwards to get Kespa players into the GSL (something like 2 code s seeds, 2 up and down seeds, 4 code a seeds). But hey, looks like it got results I just hope ESF and Kespa can play nice in the future.

ESF screwed over any of their players who wanted to participate in the OSL. Right now they're no better than Kespa and being used as pawns. I guess it's time to boycott all korean sc2?
Do you know how to read? The ESF contacted EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in the OSL and asked them if they were okay with this. They unanimously supported the decision. Notice how the statement was made by Nestea as well.
Do you really think Kespa went through the same process? ESF is a PLAYERS association, Kespa is NOT.
You think the players would willingly turn down the chance to compete in a televised individual league, something they've probably been wanting since they became pros?
Why wouldn't they if they think the alternative is death of GSL, their teams, and assimilation by KeSPA, who would restrict access to International tournaments?
Why would they care if GSL died? If they got picked up by kespa teams they would make more money and play on tv.
I can't believe the little guy complex you people all have. It's honestly making me uncomfortable to even post here.
I shouldn't even take my time responding to a guy named "BrosephBrostar" but I suppose I will since you seem to be pretty ignorant.
These players made shit, nothing, nilch, nada, when they were on KeSPA before. That's why they left. After making money in GSL and having the opportunity to freely play in whatever International tournaments they choose, why would they EVER want to go back to a repressive organization like KeSPA and earn shit money again? If KeSPA teams were so loaded with cash and sponsorship opportunities they wouldn't be down to 7 teams and wouldn't have lost over half its progaming base in the last two years.
State of the art technology has revealed Mr. Chae's reaction to Kespa backing down.
His plan in 09' was to plant GOM players in OSL so that Kespa wouldnt be able to leverage players against him when the day came that Kespa would try to shoulder GOM out.
Jeez, now will all of you put your pitchforks down? As I stated in the earlier thread (of the same issue) it was just a business decision due to lack of detailed schedule planning (source: Fomos Source, Not Allowed to Translate) and they clearly stated, at least publicly, that they're not trying to create a feud with GOM or the ESF (source: Another Fomos Source, Not Allowed to Translate). Both of these Fomos articles popped up overnight or something, I didn't see them yesterday.
*edit: I'll add some details from the above two articles, in case you're curious: + Show Spoiler +
First article: - KeSPA apologizes for creating this mess - KeSPA states that there were no official discussion on schedules and dates - KeSPA states that they had no idea GSL were willing to give out seeds to KeSPA players - They're not trying to create a divide, why else would they have accepted the cross-matches in the past then? - They're now discussing the possibility of giving the same "progamer license" to ESF players, and accordingly: - They're now discussing the possibility of (finally) recognizing GSL as an "official tournament" - KeSPA states that the above two points have been made known to GOM and they're internally discussing it too
Second article: - much of the same things, more details - in the past 4 months, KeSPA sent players to WCS, Cross-Matches, WCG Korea, and MLG Invitations on top of the OSL and PL - all this was possible due to months of planning ahead - in the upcoming month (September) KeSPA players are already booked for the PL games + playoffs, OSL, continuation of WCG Korea, WCS, and MLG. - above is why KeSPA thought participating in GSL S4 would be too much of a push - KeSPA promises to act and plan ahead and communicate better with teams and players in the future (T/N: LOL yeah right, like I haven't heard that one before)
As linked many times, according to This DES Article, KeSPA stated on the 24th (today) that they will send eligible players from ALL teams (stated explicitly in the article as "all teams") to participate in the next GSL (next as in Season 5). They also added that they don't want any more tension in the scene, but that's most likely a PR statement lol.

This whole post is a pretty big crock of BS. It obviously wasn't a scheduling conflict.

They won prize money by switching to SC2. Have we already forgotten jokes about zenex not getting to eat if their players didn't place in the money? A player like flash has a higher salary than most sc2 teams combined.
Keep up the good fight though. Don't let the man get you down.
