User was warned for this post honestly I agree. I think it looks horrible. Its like a 3 y/o got a hold of the sc2 unit models and some neon play-dough.

I'm glad a workaround for stronger color was found. Not quite as elegant-looking as the previous mod, but if it works, it works

I just cant play ZvZ without team colored banelings.

I don't think you really understand its purpose... "facepalm"

must be to hard to force players to choose red and yellow in sc2, worked in every game before. Kind of glad the mod is gone (hated those non green banelings), but i can understand why a few people needed it. But if a tournament or people really want to have the stronger team colors, it is still doable, just not on ladder.

from the screen shots provided, it dsnt actually seem to do what the colour mod did at all, and it seems a little insulting to lable them as the same, all this seems to do is jack up the contrast...
I'm not going to be able to even patch to 1.5 for at least another few weeks, but blizz have totally fucked alot of its community again with this update that totaly fucks all the modding tools that have helped make sc2 a better game

Not contrast, it's just saturation. Yes, it can't provide 100% exact same result as STC, but as I said in 1st post, it's what we can have now in 1.5.0 with no more modding at all

I know a lot of people think STC and this is "ugly"
but personally I think it looks cool, especially for terran and protoss buildings.
awesome workaround, thanks!!!

I think it looks even better than stc, even if I've only seen the gifs so far. Would like to see some screenshots too.
The brightness change really helps my eyes to to distinguish individual details more easily, especially for stuff on the creep which tends to blend way too much on normal.

Im not saying that its not a helpful thing, it's just something I personally do not like. Plus blizzard added something to the option menu that changes your unit health bars to your team colors so if I ever did (for some crazy reason) wind up in a zvz on a dark map, then I could determine what's mine and what isnt.

Screenshots are same, as gifs, just a bit lower quality, but there are nothing special to show. You will not see here something extra-new, it's just increased ingame saturation, and a cheap way to bring back Stronger Team Color mod

The main problem of team colored bars is no color indication for low HP. Yes, with team colored bars it looks exactly same, like in any C&C game, but in SC2 those HP bars are bigger and it's better to see them colored rather than alltime green or red.
But I love these red bars and now I can leave boring green-yellow-red scheme in team games, because red bars.

hey Existor thanks for this much appreciated, but i have one question, before i used this d3 mod to add sharp effect and stronger color mod and it worked great, but now if i use this saturated colors, i lose sharp. i mean i tried to combine them to have both, but i really dont understand what makes sharp appear because i can manualy edit that file to add saturate, but it wont do anything or viceversa, if i edit saturate file, it doesnt add sharp. can u help maybe? because sharp really really helps, all the texts are more visible, not to mention all the textures seem very detailed after. basicaly witho its just a simple filter

Well that's kind of an awful workaround. I guess people really do want this mod :D

Could you please, please pretty please remap it to anything except pause break like an F key or something? Pause has been pause for forever. Hey, you could release an alternate version with scroll lock as the toggle switch, it's not like we ever use that key.. unlike the pause button.
lol wow 200% looks like my starcraft is jaundiced. i'll try 100% instead
100% is ok. 200% was way way way too much. 100% is good for quickly telling zerglings and zealots apart.

To the Terran that got high and mighty about not having to use stronger color mod- Terran has no melee units lol. It's important to be able to tell how much your opponent has in a glance and vanilla makes that harder than it has to be with dour colors.

That looks like Digital Vibrance set to 100% for nvidia card users...
If you have an nvidia card goto control panel in nvidia and adjust monitor color display and change your digital vibrance if you like bright and vivid colors.
|
so what's the diff between this and upping the vibrance in gfx menu?

Aesthetics are not the point though. I'd gladly have SC2 even in a cell-shaded cartoony style if it made it more clean. Look at Quake models - they look like they're wrapped in the glowing red/green latex from head to toe.
SC2's original visuals are adapted to the lore and the setting, plus they're really dark and gritty. The visuals aren't practical or suited for spectating at all, it's just that people got used to them.

I always hated this MOD. The problem is that some streamers are using it. It makes SC2 looks just ugly and annoying. I also hoped that Stronger Color Mod will die with 1.5.

Wow one of the reasons I do not appreciate to watch SC2 is because it's so hard to distinguish things. I really like how the game looks with the mod on your gif animation. Congrats man !
