The only thing I don't like about the Widow Mine is that there is no way to avoid it or remove it once it has attached to the unit. It deals 200 damage, so you could just lay them around your base and if an Overlord/Overseer comes by to scout, boom dead. Really high gas cost flying units like the Viper/Oracle will just get obliterated instantly and there is nothing you can do about it. They need to either make it so there is a limit on how many you can have (highly doubtful since that would be too complicated) or have them require a Tech Lab.

With them being a suicide unit, you NEED to be able to produce them quickly.
Leaving them being reactor-able need to stay.

So can we start calling the Void Ray the Scout of SC2? Now that Blizzard is actually making useful Stargate units, the Void Ray is completely obsolete. It is now never a better choice than an Oracle at the beginning of a PvZ. One Oracle harasses a mineral line better than 3 Void Rays. And is also as mobile as a mutalisk, so it can easily return home to help on defense. Voids would usually not be able to get back in time to stop a huge swarm of roaches. Speaking of which, it is more useful on defense than a Void Ray as well. Void Rays take some time to DPS down units, while the Oracle can cloak all of your units AND buildings for 60 secs. Now this ability costs 100 energy, but with only 25 energy from the new Mothership Core, it restores all 200 of the Oracle's energy. The only thing I can see a Void Ray being more useful for is taking out units on watchtowers in the early game, but I would rather use the quicker, more versatile phoenixes for that, and to take out overlords.

How do you know for certain that they're scripted? Source?

edit: The reason i dont agree is that in the vid you have a bunch of slight mess-ups, such as the other caster calling the hatchery a nexus at one point, etc.

Im not supporting his insults but its obvious the whole game was scripted to show case the units for the masses which isnt exactly a bad thing imo.

Hmm, some changes are quite interesting. Zerg's new units look really useful, especially the viper. Protoss has some nice additions as well, although I don't really understand the 22 range of the tempest. It would have been much better if it had less range, but more attack speed and less dmg on hit. Oracle seems really cool, although it's harrassing abilities don't look that good, compared to medivac drops, it will only make the oponent leave some base defense . Mothership-core looks like an interesting thing as well. As for terran, I don't really like their new units and changes. The warhound looks so stupid and it is just a more advanced marauder, it seems. Widow mines, interesting for ground, it will make the opponent use detectors, but why did it have to attack air as well ?

to be honest, I would gladly sacrifice speed overlords to take out the widow mines over losing my swarm hosts/vipers. I think it will become a strategy to actually sacrifice overlords or lings to clear out mines to protect your more expensive units.

they seemed to do pretty well in the TvZ that was show cased. They got to scout everything, kill like 8 drones, allowed the terran to go mech without any harm, managed to heal up and keep zerg on their feet. I think reapers are going to be standard if terran goes mech.

Definitly not scripted regarding Day9. What could be scripted is the two players just trying to show all the new units in action. But tha's not a bad thing.

no, they can only destroy them, appear in the video, apparently, units that die after a short time, does not activate the widow mines

can hellions transform into battle hellions right from the start?
if it is so i guess hellion/marauder pushes will be unbelievable strong, since there arnt added t1 units to deal with it, its hardcounter charakter of the push is just really hard to deal with

they spawn as battle hellion, you must transform them after creating them to go into WoL hellion.
