I just watched the TvZ at http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/live#sc2 at 2:10:00

widow mines look crazy. the game looked insanely fun, zerg had hive tech early and later had ultras at 100 supply, it really felt like a BW match, different of course but engagements all over the map.

The problem is that the widow mines take up supply and cost gas. So it's a much bigger investment than spider mines in BW. For all that investment, I do not think Blizzard will give the widow mine friendly fire. And I figure whatever the reasons why banelings don't have friendly fire, applies to wm's as well.

terran went mech and you dont use blinding cloud against protoss. it only effects biological, I expect it to have a big impact in ZvZ and bio TvZ.

Can you make proxy hatch for the vipers, som they can regen energy with their consume spell?

You really shouldn't compare units like that across races without factoring in the other aspects of the races. Banelings are part of a main army which is almost 100% melee whereas terrans have exactly how many melee units?

You could if you wanted. It might be better to use overlords to drop some creep and build evo chambers since they build pretty quick and have a lot of HP for their cost.

Well, swarm host is available way earlier - I can definitely see how Blizz intended it to work out with zergs slowly transition from swarm host into broodlords.

Overall I suppose we should be happy with every unit that doesn't encourage a deathball-style of play.

I think there is no point..
They just wanna show new hydras , I really like that hydras get buffed , maby we goona se more hydras play in game now ;P

I am really sad about one thing. Blinding cloud only works on bio units, that means it is useless against protoss. And I think it looks dumb when threre are abilaties that are only meant for one matchup. There is no crossover, imagine if PvZ used abilaties x,y,z and ZvT used u,i,k or whatever cuz they arnt usefull in other matchups. It would make the game dumb, especially when this expansion is suposed to add units for vearity not to fix problems or add something to 1 matchup by adding units.

i know why tempest has 22 range, because swarm host has a pretty good range too, is 14, without the 22 range it would be impossible to pass a ton of zerg units to kill mass of swarm host.

You can only make 200/6 => 34 tempest (and then you have 2 probes left.) And given that it is 'only' 22 range, you can not reach the entire map. :p

Zerg, for instance, can make 100 corruptors, and even though tempest will probably 2 (or even 2, let's go for 2 for now) shot them, that's still 200 shots you'll need. 34 tempest need 6 shots to have reached 200 shots (or more). That's 36 seconds 100 corruptors (and slowly dwindeling) have to take out the tempests. :p
