You're right it is funny. I don't recall supply depots spreading creep to block expansions, etc like overlords can or depots turning into detectors (overseers). They have uses too. And oh yea, ever heard of changelings? Those things are very underrated.

use a barracks, its better scouting, doesnt cost u a scan, faster than a overlord, and doesnt cost supply.

Medivac could kinda be considered half a unit. Overlord plus queen at best make for about half a unit combined, like the medivac That leaves zerg with 9.5 and terran with 11 or 11.5. Queens are only defensive units like planetary fortresses, and overseers are scouters and detectors like orbital commands. Terran also kinda has a bonus building — the radar tower. Don't need to count it, but if counting it I'd at least consider it half a building or unit extra.

Brood gave the player a whole new set of units that required him to rethink his army comps and strategies without introducing any sort of game-breaking abilities, which allowed Blizzard to ensure that even if balance was broken only slight tweaks would be required to restore it. - I actually find tempest to be an interesting unit that will add more depth to any engagement, will make positioning even more important (core mechanics of all Starcraft games).
