Same goes for GSTL.
All of this, of course, is in my opinion and is not factual.

If you mean main races, then I understand where you are coming from and my only answer to you is- obviously Protoss and Zerg are the superior races ![]()

Like, Code S would be only the very, very best of GM, right? And Code A would be more like...GM in general? What about Code B? Does that start including top masters?

As protoss how do you chronoboost all warpgates without having to click on each one?

The korean GM league is on a higher level than these servers, so I have no idea how high Code B players are ranked over there, but they would surely be grandmaster level on EU/NA. That's my guess at least ![]()

Code B on the other side .. well, the question is what defines Code B? Somebody who played in a GSL Qualifier? Could be everything ..

Chronoboost on a control group would be a bit overpowered, since people could have one control group for all structures and just chrono them all at once. It would be very abusable. That being said, can you chronoboost a cannon? I am wondering if that is possible, i've never tried, but it would be interesting to see a cannon shoot faster. That would be pretty broken though.

Lol at first I thought you meant like terran unit caster but doesn't frodan play random? that could kinda count I guess

Code B players would also be top 25 or so GM on EU/NA.

Counter example to the importance of ladder rank in correlation with tournaments: Nestea uses the ladder to do troll builds and hovers between mid-GM and Masters. However part of the Code B qualification process (for Koreans) is an account in Masters on the KR server. I suspect this is only to reduce the amount of applicants however, as anyone who wishes to compete in the GSL would obviously have to be above Masters level. New kid on the block... I'm new to the community, as well as SC2, though I played BW for about 7 years, and have been following competitive SC2 for a while now. Being a spectator and being new to actually playing are pretty different though, and in all that, I find a lot of the mechanics of 2 to be fairly different per race, as stated earlier in the thread, more about speed of production due 'softness' of units, and a bit more macro-heavy. Since in BW, I played Zerg as my main race, I now do the same in SC2, though their dynamic has changed for sure, and I'm just curious... Since this isn't like SC1 anymore of course, and there is a full-on ratio for match making, what's the simplest way I could go about practicing without trashing my MMR? Do you recommend any specific training maps? I found Shaggy's List of Training Maps, though are there any others anyone could personally recommend me towards above and beyond that his list might not have encompassed? I can already easily pick off and predict hard bots, but very hard bots are more difficult for me. Can anyone maybe suggest some safe builds that I could practice while I learn more about the dynamics and depth of the game? Thanks in advance, guys. Cheers

1. Double or triple the HP of all units (so you can realistically retreat if you need to; and so the army that I spent 15 minutes building up doesn't evaporate in 4 seconds) 2. Reduce the severity of splash damage (so that if my opponent makes a collosus I'm not forced to abandon half my available unit choices) Until that happens, it's hard to have fun playing this game. Such a shame really, since it had great potential.

Cheers Masters Zerg here, I would suggest you start off with a very basic build (14 gas 14 pool 21 hatch) and just play a few custom games against a mate, or someone from chat (Mixed Fruit, TeamLiquid, Bronze Practice are quite famous chats for opponent search) and get a serious feeling about the flow of the game. The build-order is the least important as Zerg IMO. As soon as you know, what to do, with what, what happens with that, etc. You can search for Match-Up specific builds (15 hatch for ZvT, 14 pool 16 hatch for ZvP, etc) and just start laddering. Ladder-Rank is not important at all, because as soon as you get better, your rank and MMR will get better too.

Kinda exciting, if ya ask me. There's just some old habits from BW there that I gotta work on getting rid of, mainly with how I try to micro certain units. Seems that micro in 2 just isn't as important as it was in 1, but I suppose that's just mechanical difference from streamlined pathing and old coding.
