You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.
Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence. |
some "NA GM timing"?
made me laugh a little. I think we should be more careful before accusing people of hacking (myself included). Starsense might be strong in some people, doesn't mean they hack! After talking to a few sources it seems like the most common form of MH is now obsolete, gj by Blizzard on this one

NA GM has lots of weird playstyles and timings that may look... "hackish" while not being so.

Not obsolete - the older and basic hack(s) are not warden proof, and the players don't want to get caught so they are being cautious, using only the hacks that are warden proof, and more and more are using only production tab and/or minimap hacks to avoid detection visually.

Crimsonight North America Master Blatantly stares through FoW constantly and seems to know who has how much money Replay
This guy doesn't really meet the high Master requirements, but the game was pretty funny for me so I thought I would put it here anyways. The maphacking part seems pretty obvious throughout the game, but I also think he has some sort of hack that shows how many resources each player in the game has.
For those unfamiliar with the custom game, there are 2 bad guys (me and the hacker, who I decided to try and kill first) get extra resources each second that have to take on 6 good guys that only gain income through workers. If it looks odd that I almost immediately go for him, I've played with him in the game before where his hacks were also obvious.
It's kind of a long game, so I don't really want to go through every part and I'm not asking anybody else to either. After he stares at me making lings through the FoW and has the balls to ask me about them, I think it's pretty obvious what he is doing.

Either you give us the times, or we go through it bit by regardless, we still have to verify the actual occurances in the replay.
I'd watch it right now and to the leg work, but I have a massive upload going, and I can't seem to log in to SC2. Im also getting a parsing error on the replay. Not sure about that.

Ok, I can do it. It would be cool if you could give the replay a glance just to confirm he hacks, but I understand if you don't want to examine the whole thing since it is a bit long to go through every second of it closely. I don't mind doing it since I'm the one making the complaint.
3:20 Looks at the red player's base and mine, nobody else's. Other than the suspected hacker, we are the only two receiving extra resources each second. Suggests he is able to see how much each player has. 6:41 Looks at my base through FoW as my Lings finish. 6:58 Looks at my Lings again. 7:09 Looks at my base again. 7:20 Looks at my base again. **7:31** Messages me about my Lings without ever seeing them!!!!!! 7:55 Looks at my Lings running towards his base. 10:15 looks at a few bases through the FoW. Trying to find a safe place to send his last Drones. 12:55 Looks at my base through FoW. 13:35 Looks at my base through FoW. 14:58 Looks at my base through FoW for a really long time. 18:15 Looks at the orange player's base through FoW. 18:53 Looks at a few of my expansions through FoW. 23:14 Moves his army as mine comes in to attack his base. 23:26 Starts to retreat, but turns around after he sees me double back. 23:55 Looks at some of my units through FoW. 24:50 Sees my army coming in and sends his Mutas to intercept. 25:17 Sees me go for a different ramp and turns his army around for another intercept. 25:30 Spots my undefended Infestors through FoW and sends Lings to get them. 27:06 Looks at some of my units through FoW. 27:19 Examines the orange player's base through FoW. 29:11 Looks at my units through FoW and looks at my base after. 29:23 Looks at the orange player's base through FoW. 30:07 Looks at my units through FoW. 31:01 Sends his Mutas to attack a base he hasn't seen yet. 31:15 Notices my army is close to the expansion and decides to head somewhere else. 31:53 Attacks until he sees my Infestors getting close and runs away. 32:30 Sees my Infestors out of position and starts sending his army to get them. 32:50 Discovers that hacks are not a substitute for skill as his Muta army melts to Fungal. 34:50 Follows my army through FoW. 39:03 Looks at the orange player's base through FoW. 39:10 Looks at my base through FoW. 39:55 Sees my burrowed Infestors through FoW and sends an Overseer to follow them. Then sends his Mutas to same spot without seeing anything there yet. 40:30 Looks at one of my expansions through FoW and sends Mutas to kill it. 40:45 Looks at my army through FoW. 42:40 Keeps looking at one of my expansions he killed. I saved some Drones there with burrow and he repeatedly checks in on them. 43:30 Tries to snipe my Spire, but runs as he spots Infestors coming in through FoW. 43:45 I use some of the burrowed Drones I saved to rebuild an expansion. He spots it through FoW and sends Mutas to kill it. 43:50 Looks at my base through FoW. 44:35 Looks at my base through FoW. 44:45 Attacks an expansion he never saw (far away from the ones he "discovered" earlier). 45:20 Sees me rebuilding an expansion through FoW and sends Mutas to kill it. 45:25 Looks at the orange player's base through FoW. 46:50 Succeeds in sniping my Spire this time and again turns around as he sees Infestors coming.
All in all, I think it becomes obvious early on in the game that Crimsonight hacks with no effort to hide it. Sorry for the super long post, but it was a super long game.

Hacker Name: LEGEND / Higalori EU Server Master 2v2 team i ran into 2 guys twice and im very sure they maphacked for following reasons: First game: - in the first game they hardcountered our strategy (we rushed) without any vision, zero scouting. they said they would recognize me but thats impossible cause that was like my 3 rd game since a half year and i dont ran in one of them before in that games. Second game: - well we made a 7 min timing and lost. butthe funny thing is that they called our exact build in chat like they are making fun of us. - i checked their game history and they always perform the falcon punch build and it was not hard to see that the toss always plays forge first and made like 2 cannons and the terran 3 bunkers then they got rushed and im sure they didnt scout like the barely saw their own ramps in these 2 games.

Pls report them if u think they hacked. Have fun watching the replay

Basically you just have to watch his perfect opener to my uncommon rush. You will never see someone play like this in PvP without an early scout. He also didn't scout once the entire game and moved out at some pretty opportune moments. He never actually looked through the fog of war, however.

Maphacks are really a big problem. Out of curiousity I googled "sc2 maphack" and the first result is a free download with the OP:
SC2 1.54 Maphack + Observer Panel and Warden protection [...] Took me just 10 minutes, so why not.
It took one person just ten minutes to completely bypass the warden protection of the new patch. This isn't Blizzard's fault (I'm aware of the specifics and how it would take a rewritten game engine to be maphack-free, and how it's very difficult to detect maphacks in the good old cat-and-mouse game), but it's really frustrating and sad. Anybody can google it, download it, run it and be maphacking within 5 minutes of getting the idea. And be undetectable unless they are really dumb and obvious with their hacking. It's a damn shame.
edit: a large part of why the reporting system is so useless is because so many people abuse/misuse it. Like, I'm the last person who would ever maphack, but yesterday on my offracing account in the 4 games I played, 3 people raged, accused, and reported me for maphacking. Which I wasn't doing.
For anyone who wants to have a good laugh at a complete moron: http://drop.sc/298845 the really funny part about this is when he accuses me of maphacking. All I had done was sneak a zealot by to see his expansion timing and unit composition, and i had a sentry misrallied, then he's so sure that I maphack. (~6:30 in the replay)

Since you can region switch i played on NA for a bit and i noticed that there are is a good amount of hackers (mostly barcode protosses), like one in every 25-30 games. Some are obviously hacking, yet they dont seem to care :D.

Hacker name : barcode terran Server: na League: master Description: ZvT vertical spawns on Entombed. He sends out 2 scvs to proxy some rax's without knowing my location but turns around upon being spotted by my 9 drone. After that, I do a spire rush and make 8 or 9 quick mutas and send them to his base. However, he had ~10 vikings at this point. upon reviewing the replay, he dropped down 2 reactored starports while my spire was under construction, while having never seen my base.
