But please, for gods sake, fix the audio. This sounds highly unprofessional. Far too loud and tons of clipping. Those interviews deserve better.

Casters may be easier to interview because talking is their job--but they're so overexposed already and we hardly get to know the players, especially new ones. Or get some industry people that work behind the scenes.. just a suggestion, good job on the show so far. Yeah, I have to echo this. I'm about halfway through the TB interview and I don't feel like I've really learned anything except the childhood stuff and that there was more drama behind the scenes that I didn't know about in the WoW podcast community, which doesn't really interest me (and I'm someone who actually followed that stuff back in the day). TB is great and has lots of interesting stuff to talk about, but there's lots of people who we don't know much about compared to him. It sort of makes sense, at least to me, to talk to people who don't already have a pedestal where they talk about themselves a lot. Tasteless is an amazing pick because he's so private and basically doesn't interact with the community outside of his casting, but TB, djWHEAT, and Artosis are people who we listen to on like a weekly basis, if not more. I don't doubt that they all have cool stuff to say, but the show is somewhat of a unique opportunity to really get to know some people who the community at large doesn't know much about, i.e. players. Do you people have selective memory or what? So far he's had a coach, three players, scheduled another player who backed out while insulting everyone, and 5 casters (I don't really consider 2GD and WheAt simply casters but for arguments sake I'll put them up there). Need I also remind you that most of the casters were requested? People just assumed that Artosis would say no and keep info private for his bio, and that Tasteless would say no because he's Tasteless. JP has kept a great balance and has also listened to the suggestions by the community as a whole. It's not like there is an overflow of interesting english speaking players to interview either... And although I'm sure guys like MC would absolutely love to come on the show, language barriers in a 1 on 1 interview might make things a bit to difficult. Idra and InControL are already really exposed players though, nevertheless I've liked every interview he's done so far. This kind of ties in to the next thing ... I'm glad TB has called out the EG training house. I agreed with InControL's early statements and defense when it was people grilled 1 or 2 months after it was established, it was too early for the house to have much affect on results or player performance. But we're fast approaching a year and EG really isn't doing well in terms of results - at all. All-killed by Sheth? An actual DECLINE in overall EG performences. I really want to see EG do well because along with Liquid I see them as the forerunner teams on the foreigner scene, and they are still my favourite team, but that team house seems like a joke. Korean supremacy in StarCraft 2 isn't inate. It isn't a genetic part of their being. They work extremely fucking hard to get where they are. Of course there are people with a more natural disposition and talent towards the game, but in general, there is no difference between foreigners and koreans. I watch a lot of EG streams and the amount of bloody rubbish that seems to go on in that house ... I imagine there will be a response to this on SotG or by some EG pros. I think Idra will agree, and I think HuK will agree. I think InControL will probably try and defend EG. But they are essentially a PR team for an energy drink at this point. If they can survive off this and continue to be a part of eSports, good for them, but I'd really like to see some more legitimate results start to reappear, at least for the top players. Like Ret said in Liquid Rising, he wants this year to be a year of results, and not a year of talent. I don't think the EG house should become a sweatshop of SC2 like old school BW Korean houses, but they definitely need to consolidate their players in there and put some damn work in. Enough time has gone by, the EG house needs to be scrutinised. There's too much PR and baseless hype and not enough substance in terms of quality SC2 play. ______________ I also like what he says about Day9. I've actually found myself feeling genuinely sorry for Sean lately when I hear about all this rubbish being flung his way. Not long ago he was untouchable in terms of criticism and THAT is how it should be all the time. Day9 is a human being and obviously has flaws like everyone else, but in terms of what is relevent to us as a community, and in terms of what he has contributed to eSports and how he represents himself, he has done NOTHING wrong and we are incredibly lucky someone was talented, funny, hard-working and genuine has decided to contribute so much themself to building eSports. Day9 has never made a single mistake that has had any negative impact on us as a community, despite being such an influential figure, yet he's receiving senseless critisism? This horrible, cancerous point of view founded on jealousy and spitfulness that seems to try and deconstruct such an incredible part of the SC2 scene (and the very reason I got into SC2 eSports in the first place) really, really depresses me. I hope this rancid shit that seems to be going around about Sean just stops and I really hope it never bothers him or stops him from doing what he wants to do.

Day9 is not the messiah, people should criticize things he does that they don't like, as long as the the criticism is targeted and not just a personal attack. The man has done a ton of positive things for esports, that doesn't mean I have to like the constant whispering and shouting he has incorporated into his casting in the last year or how he avoids answering any substantive questions in most interviews and tends to turn the interview into a monologue about some aspect of his life he wants to talk about.

Proper, constructive critisism is all well and good of course, and if you don't like his casting that's fine. I'm talking about the specific, blatant rubbish like the stuff 2GD came out with (which was a pre-emptive retaliation if Day9 left the scene or some crap) and the critisism about how he seems to be making out he's not earning money or that he's struggling to make a living (which isn't the case either). Critisise people - that's fine fine. As long as it makes some kind of sense. And I don't think anyone in their right mind would claim that Day9 has done more bad than good.

I agree, but the sad truth is that the reason most of the day9 interviews have become so crappy is because a lot of people in esports view him as untouchable and refuse to keep him on point. So even though that is really no fault of his own, it gets quite old.
