Do you want him to revolutionize the game instantly as soon as he starts? sure hes got a big ass hype train but hes mortal just like all of us.

especially this guy. i commented on flash in one sentence. one. the rest was for bw elitists and brainwashing the sc2 community for months that their game is so easy a monkey from bw could dominate it. now we see that's not the case, so how bout you let everyone enjoy it for a minute, ok? ;-) are you even comprehending the intrigue quote that you proudly brandish as your sig? he says " with a latency of a few months." To be fair, 'latency' is too big a word to fit in so closed a mind. i must've really hit a soft spot for someone as respectable as you to resort to such common ways of trying to insult complete stranger over the internet... twice! ))) i happily receive your truth induced rage. Yeah, actually, you have. And its not the whole sc2>BW argument, its the fact that you dont bother using any fucking logic. You keep saying 'ooo bw players are shit', guess what, MVP already proved you wrong. Nestea proved you wrong. MC proved you wrong. Now someone comes in whos raping face against grandmasters after ONE month of 50% sc2 practice 50% bw practice, and you say "LOL LOOK AT THE NEWBIE" ??? Where is the logic? Which sc2 pro actually picked up the game and started winning tournaments within 2 weeks? Name me one, go ahead.
all i said was "and i'm sorry, but that really wasn't impressive at all." which many others commented as well, even some profesional players. all the rest was on the subject of the whole bw>sc2 argument, so where do you get this "sc2>bw", "bw players are shit" quotes? maybe you emotionally jumped to conclusions that were never implied.
i also commented "when i see bw pros updates and how they struggle in sc2", but isn't that a fact? it's a hard game, they'll get there. did you even read the flash interview and the timetable he put out for him getting to "crushing faces" level of play? he said more than a year.
and here's the problem: for months the sc2 community listened how sc2 is so easy and all that jazz, but now when it's actually proven that's not the case and the game is not so fucking simple that a nowadays b-teamer with bw mechanics could dominate it easily - what? rage?
the way how some of you gang up trying to make me sound like Flash-basher even though you don't have single quote to support it is really not necessary. i actually love both games and look forward to the next generation of sc2. and i know you don't, but please don't take it out on me ;-)
EDIT: leave a PM if you have to reply.

PS: am I the only one weirded out by the fact that he plays in high graphics? I don't see any connection with graphics settings and playability. There are pros that stream with both high and low settings. There is connection if you play zerg. But as terran you are right . And whats the connection as zerg? Nestea plays low, Stephano med-high, does it make any difference? Nope. All up to personal preference. I think if you play on low graphics, but maxed effects or textures or something, you can see cloaked units more easily?
That was the case in early beta, and possibly close after retail but I'm pretty sure they fixed it in a patch? There shouldn't be any significant difference between the different graphics settings except for personal taste.

It might be just me, but it seems Flash still needs tons of practice. He didn't seem very fast either.
-quote from some guy that will never come within 200 apm of Flash in his life.

Did he drop a single mule? -wait until he finds out about those.

Flash was playing with both hands?
Noob.
But in all seriousness, that was really impressive considering he hasn't been playing for very long. Excited to see him play at MLG Anaheim and then in a few more months!

I play on mid/low cause on low forcefields are nto clear at all. while on shaders on mid quality there are much more clearly visiable. it doesnt change cloak visibility though. some setting does, not sure which one.

Beating a pro player after only switching 1 month ago. Not bad. Exactly. ClouD, I think most of us are just impressed by how well he's playing for the amount of time he's played SC2 (~1-2 months?). No one is dumb enough to put him in the same class as a Code A player (yet). In the tvt his opponent made huge blunders that shouldn't have happened, in the tvp flash showed a good game sense but horrible control. Knowing how good he can be I am not satisfied by this. I am not saying he is disappointing just right now it's too early to make any judgement imo.
I suppose it is always disappointing to see one such as Flash EVER look average but he has only just started playing SC2 and will have to juggle between both BW and SC2 for Proleague and OSL.
Flash has played thousands and thousands of games and a lot of people don't understand how hard it is to kill off habits developed over that time period that don't translate at all to SC2.
I wouldn't even focus on these games but focus on the fact that Flash is highly motivated, treating this new experience as though he is just becoming a progamer once again. We all know how competitive Flash is, how hard to trains, so in my mind there is no doubt he will quickly become on the best players in the world.

Incredible play for someone whos been playing for 10 days, better than foreign pros who played since beta.

I hear... to make the game fair for his opponents... Flash drops every mule in his opponent's base.
His opponents just think he's really bm, but they have no idea that Flash is just balancing the game for them.

That second video reminded me of MC in his prime when PvP was only 4gate vs 4gate. MC wouldn't hestitate to attack a player who had the exact same amount of units as he did, he was that confident in his micro - and it would work.
I'm excited to see more of Flash, and other BW pros of course, in SC2 as well as BW.

The other thing you guys have to take into account is Flash is a champion. He shows a champion's mettle. He doesn't crumble under pressure and will fight until the end. Compare that against someone like Idra, who might seem super impressive on ladder, but falls apart easily during tournaments. That is why he's called God.
|
Wow snailz. That thread is not about you, so stop spamming it. I didnt even read through your wall of shit.
@video: i cant rate flashs level of play, but im very damn happy that hes learning how to do it. I really wait for a true next Protoss hero. I didnt play sc1 and also didnt follow the scene but from what i heard i put my faith in Bisu to crush face.
Go BW pros go... take us to another level

Its funny how people are expecting flash to be so good. The skill cap on this games so low that its simply impossible for one player to eclipse the others, as there arent enough variables which you can excel at compared to others.
Protoss army control for example is pathetically limited, what apm do you need to play it perfectly? Storms are 50% luck based depending on how your opponent reacts, and you certainly cant be reliably amazing with them every time.
Atleast terran has the highest ceiling for micro to show, but I doubt any BW pro's will impress or beable to show anything particularly new.
expansion might have some new way for players to show their skill, if it doesnt the games going to get stale very quickly

Flash is a kid having fun. People need to stop being so critical about how this is the death of BW etc.. and consequently turning this to an sc2 BW argument. The guy can do what he wants. Flash himself says he loves the game.

These multi-prong attacks so good.

And yet a player like MKP has been around and kicking ass since GSL Open Season 2? Do I have to mention MVP who is one series away from his 4th GSL title? Why are there so many consistent players? The 'low skill ceiling' idea just doesn't hold up.

"He's not good, but he's certainly not going to be bad," is all I (or anyone) can say for certain right now.
Making Masters in three weeks doesn't matter. Maybe when he hits GM #1 with 70% win-% a la aLive, Polt, MKP, Bomber, etc., we can extrapolate from his ladder play, but until then let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.
