flash still isnt 100% dedicated to sc2 though.
he didnt do big waves in BW in one months, he just made courage, that took him a year.. I think?
Players making courage is uncommon but not "making big waves", players like Upmagic made it on his first try too

Not like he was a high level amateur on the By. clan or was a practice partner for wemade fox before he went pro.
That'd be ridiculous.
(edit: wemade would have been pantech back then. although there is the interview about flash going to be a progamer for 1 month with KT in the same shindonga magazine linked below, he already had been an online practice partner and had tried previous courages where he got knocked out; there are interviews of him and fantasy talking about each other since amateur days, and jangbi even beat flash in a courage tournament to get his license and talked about their amateur days as well. But here's a interview with jaedong and flash where flash talked about how he got knocked out of a courage when he was a practice partner (would have been with pantech/wemade at the time): http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=111390#1. look for the "Q: When were you first aware of each other’s existence?". Flash had a quick rise as a bw progamer, especially since it usually takes like a year being on the B team living in the house to make a scratch, but he obviously was high level for a long time).

If he actually is as high ranking as people say and he has not watched any vods from current top pros its pretty amazing how good he actually played. That is a very short amount of time to be able to play against a pro sc2 player and win a competitive game with nothing more then marines tanks medivacs.
Yes, that surprised me too. How both Flash and Kawaii had the same build. They're already at the same spot in the meta game.
He just needs to swim with the big fish for a few months and then take over.
Certainly he'll have a psychological edge against most top sc2 players, especially on stage and in big matches. Its clear everyone worships him, and at the very least has a healthy respect for him. I've never seen a Korean utter a negative sentiments towards Flash. Not even remotely negative.
Fascinating to watch. Need more replays!
Not to mention Flash has a mind of steel... He literally will just will himself to several victories because he's unfazed in like any situation... Kinda like Jaedong during his Tyrant reign where Flash could barely keep up. Oh and Flash was analyzed by psychologists a couple years back, and they said his brain functions differently from the average human... It came out in national Korean television during a science show... Closest thing i can think of right now is like Mythbusters but not busting myths... just finding out cool science facts... They had him hooked up to a machine and found out that the colors and graphics of a screen barely register anything in his brain so his full brain is solely focused on the battle and not the flashy screen... That's why he can filter anything that would hinder his brainpower and only focus completely~
I would like a link of this supposed video. The one I remember was XellOs in a NatGeo documentary and it showed nothing remarkable if you know how mastery of skills work.
Last time in the KBS’s “Science Café,” tests showed that Flash’s brain activity and regions are different from normal people. What do you personally think is most important aspect of being a progamer? -To be able to win games, you need everything to align. A desire for victory, confidence, mental conditioning are all important factors. When a live game begins, a lot of players get nervous. Whether or not you can, at this point, conquer the fears and perform like you do in practice becomes crucial. Because of so many factors affecting it, results would obviously vary. Also, varied strategies is also a strong foundation for winning.

It is still a basically worthless show-biz flick. It is not "Flash being different from average humans", it is "specialized individuals beind different from average humans". Of course the brain of a decade-long trained player works differently when doing his thing. The same would go for your average good student, a musician, a juggler, you name it.
I like the castor, because French is a third language for me and he speaks slowly enough to understand. That's a pretty greedy opening without even scouting on Flash's part. If you ever play against him just 6-7-8-pool
One thing that really stood out to me is Flash tends to make the most out of a small number of units. He forced his advantage several times throughout the game and his high-level knowledge of a game quite similar is apparent. I can't wait to see how good he gets later.
He isn't using ||||||| ( 7 times |) anymore His last game was 12/05/2012 ^^ And they are playing 15h+ a day so probably around 30 games. MLG said even 50 Games for preperation...
Dunno why you hype it that much. Atm he just sucks.. he doesn't know the timings, he doesn't know all BO's. Watch MKP/MvP to improve.
Flash said its now 3 times.. The Kespa-Players NEED TIME to adapt. In which universe are you living, if you think that he will stomb out a GSL-Win after 1 month playing. Probably every High Master / Low GM of Europe beats him. Haypro did :p He will maybe own in 1 year, or like 6 months. To dominate like he did in BW he will need 2years+
-> Practise hard and you can be better than Flash Should be a motivation

God inside bw.
Grubby was god of wc3, and in sc2, with like a year of practice, he is just an average non-korean pro.
Flash can easily become top 10 in the world (korea), which would be great, but still far from god status.
I wouldn´t call Grubby an average non korean pro... He is amongst the better foreigners
and grubby wasnt "god" of wc3. he was seen as god by the foreigner scene cause he was top 5 for several years. MOON was our god. grubby was one king amongst some other kings and yet one of the most powerful kings.
Flash will get incredibly good at sc2, you can see it already. i just hope spl didnt have entombed valley aka 3 base turtle map in their mappool :/
At least Grubby was 'King' of Warcraft... He was above all koreans (with plenty of challengers at different times; Sweet, Check, Lyn, Sky etc.) Only real solid competitor was Moon. Moon got his title because of his innovation (Or taking others quite new innovation and optimizing it to make it popular - Mass Dott anyone? Or introducing Seppelin micro. And the way he could always "play" with his opponents, even in big tournaments.)
On July 01 2012 09:25 polyphonyEX wrote: ^With all due respect, Moon was the undisputed best player in WC3. Grubby was more of a Jaedong/Nada type.
when i was watching more recent games, grubby was seemingly winning left and right at major events, and moon was falling off a bit towards the end of 2008. for that stretch of 6-9 months i wouldn't have argued that grubby wasn't like a sort of 'god' of wc3 during that stretch. i don't know what happened exactly because i wasn't a wc3 player, but orc players were just starting to win everything from there.
*edit* i think i may have found the most awkward player introduction > _ < (WCG) and djwheat is commentating!

And the kings were four
To you Moon might have been the god, but for many of us Grubby and Lyn were the twin brother gods. Cause let's face it, NE wasn't exactly hard to play and in order to be competitive with Orc you needed really godlike micro.
