A Starcraft 2 league promoted by OnGameNet is on the talks. GomTV, currently the only organization able to grant the rights to hold a Starcraft 2 tournament in Korea, has given Blizzard green light to promote talks with KeSPA and OGN directly. However, this is an exceptional case, and any other organization seeking such rights in the future will have to get it from GomTV.
Starcraft 2 in Proleague is now certain, says 데일리e스포츠(T/N: Daily eSports, a Korean website focused on eSports related journalism).
"We decided that Blizzard dealing with KeSPA and OGN directly would be more beneficial for the growth and evolution of the eSports market" said a GomTV representative. "We haven't given up the sole rights for SC2 in Korea, and GSL/GSTL will still go on".

An unnamed Korean industry insider said "There is a strong possibility that the next season of Proleague will have both SCBW and SC2, and the next one after that will have only SC2".

I get the strong feeling that Blizzard is going to botch this terribly. I'm happy that they don't seem to pull the plug on GSL (which would have been a tragedy), but killing off BW Proleague seems like bottomless idiocy to me. Hopefully it won't have to end that way :<

Is it BW getting old or BW pros getting old. Always confuses me. I don't follow the BW scene so I have no idea if new names are still emerging and keeping the competition alive.
