Knock off the SC2 vs BW vs LoL vs whatever crap please. |
Sad times for BW, the times are changing, and sometimes that is never in your best interests. Team 8 as much as I like them is proof of that. Most of the other teams in BW PL are multi-gaming teams and thus sponsoring them gives them more viewer ship over multiple platforms.
The best case scenario for this, would be always having alternating nights between the two games, but that would take the current teams to absorb the current Korean teams in the GSTL that do not have a stable flow of income and run a SC2 team and BW team. Treat them as if they were the SF2 team and BW team, different coaches and different players. That is only my wishful thinking though.
We cannot do much other than wait and see what is going to happen when the full information is released.
I like watching either game, but would prefer that they both are still around.

User was warned for this post Why do posts like this one get warnings, when people in the BW forum are free to call SC2 a shit game with no future?
i agree with that guy. sc2 flaming = fine bw flaming = warning ? how is this supposed to be fair ?

Baseball is over 100 years old, is one side of you saying " people need to move on from baseball it's an old game" ?
So what's your point ?

I must say I've stopped watching BW since SC2 came out. But I still have this affinity for proleague to stay BW only ![](/mirror/smilies/frown.gif)
As much as I want TBLS to come to SC2. I feel like with the easier UI and more coinflippy/deathball type play, even they could fall to lesser players much more often. The volatility of SC2 gameplay thus far gives me apprehension for their inevitable switch because, even though the entire world knows they are better players in almost every aspect, SC2 is a completely different game (easier) and even legends like them may fall to the volatility of sc2 play. Boooooooo.
Anyway, good news for SC2, but I can't believe I'm actually hearing this from Blizz/Kespa's mouths.

i think most mods have a bw background and because of that they are bias. but i have to disagree bw is not getting old bw is old. to bad for the bw guys but there is nothing that can stop this.

the point is that no baseball 2 came out :D

I started watching Broodwar about 2 years ago. Even though I like watching sc2 as well, this is very sad news for me

I'm surprised so few SC2 fans aren't complaining about the prospect of watching a tournament where every other game is BW.
LR threads are going to be horrifying if this actually happens.

Just look at BW tourney viewership on TL. It's abysmal.
Those are BW tourney restreams. Foreign community doesn't watch BW. Just out of curiosity, how many ppl watch a normal bw stream? not the super duper finals, just a regular game like on GSL or NASL/IPL. I regularly see 1000+ across all retreams for a regular proleague match, which is more than what NASL and IPL sometimes get. If you want to belittle something you could also mention that most pros streaming their practice games also get 1000+ views, which makes those BW restreams look ridiculous. You shouldn't expect too many people to watch BW no matter how good it is, just because of things like being moved below the SC2 forums in the sidebar, most news articles being about SC2, and the fact that there are just so many SC2 events whose viewership is supported by other places, like Reddit.

I don't get why all the BW people are so pissed about it, I think BW>>>>>>>>SC2 but being less than perfect aint all that bad, I think its a pretty cool idea and suggested it a long time ago.

Pretty obvious why it would upset BW fans more than SC2. The idea increases the amount of SC2 played and decreases the amount of BW.

Of all the good reasons to be sad, this is probably the dumbest thing I've read here. I'll bet Grubby (aka one of the best wc3 players ever) wouldn't be touched by Whitera in Wc3 but could lose in Sc2 because its a different bloody game.
Does WC3 has nearly the same economy focus, units, and tech trees as SC2? Please enlighten me, cause I don't really know anything about WC3 other than what I experienced haxxing my way through the campaign.

What a stupid comparison.
Does baseball have to compete with improved technology?

No king rules forever indeed.

Best part of this is that it's done with GOM's blessing which gives me hope that the two scenes can merge.

I guarantee you there's going to be a shitstorm after every game in the LR thread if this happens though, as one game's fanboys complain about the other game having to be watched.

OK for now I really hope this is not true.

As much as I hate to see BW on its last legs, a SC2 version of Proleague makes me super excited for the future.
