Being catered to specifically by GomTV with foreigner seeds, casters and interaction means they get my eyeballs. How did OGN/KeSPA throw the foreign scene under the bus, exactly?
This is my question also,
Pj, Lx, Legionnaire, Draco, Rekrul, IdrA, NonY, Ret.
To name the few.
They didn't place the foreigners under the bus. The foreigners gave their progaming dreams up because the idea was that the foreigners cannot beat robots.

How did OGN/KeSPA throw the foreign scene under the bus, exactly? well if you want to play in ogn or msl at all you gotta have a pro gamers license for one something that foreigners rarely got That pro license could could just be getting in to Code A. SC:BW licenses were handed out via their Courage Cups, and the reason that so many foreigner didn't get those passes is the same reason that many foreigner are unable to make it through the qualifier cups. I kind of doubt that OGN wouldn't try to tap into the international scene because they would be blind to not notice how big the scene is outside of Korea. assuming the proleague does have an english cast, if i were tastostis i would be fucking giggling in my beer at how much money i can ask from GOM or defect to proleague. =)

Wait.... what? Another GSL? Another IPL? Aren't there already a lot of "Starcraft 2 Pro leagues"??? It sounds awesome but why are they making this sound like something revolutionary and a first, because it sure doesn't seem like it. I can't stand when Blizzard is so unspecific about announcements like this. Blizzard is so unspecific in general, like not having the pricing for the WoW annual pass anywhere in the FAQ. That was just ridiculous. I had to learn from a friend who bought it that it's the same flat rate of $15 a month because Blizzard didn't have that information anywhere until you buy it!
Point is, Blizzard please clear your crap up and be more specific. Please?

The only problem, Mike, is that your game needs to improve a lot or SC2 will die in just a few years. Hopefully this huge infusion of talent will catalyze a better understanding of SC2's shortcomings and we'll have a more exciting game to watch when all is said and done. If you are open to suggestions like Barrin's, QXC's, Day9's, etc... so so so so so true. sc2 really needs to up the notch on the skill ceiling or it wont last. people will figure it out way too quick and itll get stale (getting stale right now with just wings of lib). i got faith that if mike just listens to the pro bw players they can really spice things up for hots and void.
wat? Everyone still sucks at the game, so I don't know if raising the skill ceiling is really what it needs. There is literally no player that even comes close to the skill ceiling as is. They could/should add more, but it has nothing to do with anyone reaching the skill ceiling.
And anyone that thinks that BW is going to get dropped for this is ridiculous. It makes no sense. The whole point for OGN is to broadcast SC2 AND slowly re-introduce sc2 to BW watchers, cutting BW out immediately (or any time soon) would make every BW fan (including myself) pissed beyond belief. They aren't stupid, they love BW and know their fans love it as well.

It is specific. It's talking about having pro-league (which is the BW name for the team league) broadcasted on OGN (broadcasts BW on TV in Korea and has done so for many years) in the near future.

Exactly I was just thinking about that. With the extreme popularity of casters in general, I can easily see that the more successful league of the two will not be based off of the players that are in it but rather which one gets Tastosis and thus the foreigner eyes.

And kicked ass they did. The problem with regards to the newer generation is that, the wall they needed to destroy was so massive compared to the ones the earlier foreigners got.
I mean, Idra was the only one among the later generations who got a LIVE TV appearance in korea from a GOM League.

It's another Korean-based tournament.. That in itself is special as Gom has had the rights to SC2 exclusively.

starcraft 2 Pro League is not another gsl or ipl its the continuation of Starcraft Pro League (of OGN)

If Blizzard were even thinking of breaking off their relationship with GOM, there's no way in the world that Mr. Morhaime would be sitting in the audience, on camera. he's in the audience for the bw proleague... irrelevant point
He was in the GOMTV audience about 15 minutes ago, and as another poster pointed out, bought them pizza, so no, it's not irrelevant at all. It is, however, not a reference to the appearance in the picture in the OP.

So is this what FXOBoSs was talking about? I mean, April is coming.
|
Here's hoping the current teams don't get crushed by the Kespa teams. Both in skill and finances. The Kespa teams are a lot richer (government assistance and all) so that might be an issue because the current SC2 teams are gonna want to have at least some EQUALITY in terms of finances since they've been playing this game for 2 years already.

The skill ceiling may not have been reached, but it is rapidly being approached. The fact is that as it does, games will get shorter and shorter (a bad thing IMO), and marines will be used more and more since they are the most microable unit and (also IMO) too strong for the game to reach its full potential for excitement and interest.

Woot, SKT please partner with or buy out SlayerS~ Excited to see how this progresses. "April." hahahaha
OH, and the best thing about a SC2 PL atm is TL admins might finally give us the god damn team icons in the SC2 forums!

Point is, Blizzard please clear your crap up and be more specific. Please? What's wrong with another GSL? Back in BW we had the OSL and MSL, and players were able to compete in both of them without too much trouble. Heck, it even adds to the prestige of winning when players like Flash were able to win both of them in the same season while their opponents only had to prepare for one.
