Also to the no lan people:
They need to rebuild bnet 2.0 to give us lan and they aren't going to do that right now. They have other more pressing matters like finishing HotS, and implementing these little semi-lan patches in the meantime.
Semi lan is better than what we have now and will come sooner than rebuilding Bnet 2.0 from the ground up to support lan. Semi-lan is basically exactly what that chinese Lan hack did and blizz is doing it themselves now.
Perhaps for LotV we will get real lan since they are hiring a lot of people to work on BNET and its future atm.
(I also want small unlockables in game at some point in time. like small skin changes for my nexus or something, it would definitely keep the more casual crowd more involved a la LoL)

Sooo.... just interface and custom game patching, no real balance patching?

So blizzard has trademarked "soon", seems fitting.
On a serious note, this looks so awesome about fixing BNet 2.0. It is really great to hear them say that they will make it more like WC3 and BW. Curious to see how much balancing they will do for the game considering as it is not to bad as of now and HotS is basically right around the corner.

I guess it's a good thing, but it doesn't appear to have any changes to gameplay, so meh.

clan support? its okay if not, still happy bout lan and more "sc bw and wc3" feeling chat and customs

Arcade mode might be something like custom ''1x1 PRO ONLY w/ OBS'' type of games in war3. I could be wrong, but it sure sounds like this. Most of the other features are great, the SC2 team seems to be working very hard. No doubt HOTS will be great. The sc2 team can't be working that hard, they still haven't finished all the features WC3 already had despite all that code already existing. Yeah you can just copy code from 1 game to another with a totally different engine and the new battle.net without any problems and it will work perfectly.

from EU forum respond
"Just to clarify, the streaming support refers to the technology of having the client already usable before all of the content of the game is downloaded. Basically you download core content and are ready to play while the rest of the content is being downloaded in the background. This is mainly interesting for players that use the Starter Edition to test the game. They won't have to wait for a long time before diving in." What the fuck...this is such a troll I couldn't care less about the shit in this patch. Blizzard is gonna just wait until HOTS anyway and make us pay another 60 bucks for basic features like LAN and moderated chat channels it's a joke, bw fuckin had this 10 years ago. Seriously they musta got a kick outta that... the D3 beta has this ''technology'' and it causes the game to run like crap until the rest of the content is installed. Yeah like HoTS is going to cost 60 bucks you're an idiot for thinking that. Yeah it'll cost 80 sorry my bad. I hope your being sarcastic, it'll be full priced (fkin people sometimes..) It will not be 60 bucks, that's just so retailers can lower the price later. Since this is the absolute maximum they can ask for. Are you kidding me? I hope you're joking. This is so wrong I cannot even.. ...find arguments to support my claim?

All bigger maps, and all balance changes have sure made it hard for us on this side of the fence... being a terran player.

I dont think its "big" for me it sounds like nice and quick cover ups, small features that will bring our attention for 2 weeks and thats it.(Kinda like Chat, do you remember that feature?) I havent seen this "Arcade" system but the Chat thing and "same ip" thing are pretty minor and are not what people complained about really. Whats the point of Same ip thing if there is no lan OR will there be Low letency connection beetwen same ip games? If there is not its as much as useless for 99% of people.

seems like they listened, all things in there were rly talked about and demanded a lot!

Let us know what topics you’d like us to cover in future Developer Updates in the forum discussion thread. Topics that we’re thinking of covering include: Game Balance, Heart of the Swarm Multiplayer Progress, and Blizzard DOTA Gameplay.
No guarantees, but a massive, possibly productive content update is still better than no update at all.

Thank you blizzard ! Now i'm want to be able to change the chat box colour .

I think this is a very good step in the right direction. It seems their partnership with activision hasn't entirely corrupted their want to support their customers. Thank you very much Blizzard. And even though this might not fix all the problems B.net 2.0 has, I think it will bring some players back that have left the game.

Too bad we still can't watch replays with other people.

Seems to be a very good patch.
Same IP peer connecting is the biggest news here. Re sizable chat window is good but we dont care and custom games changes looks good too.
|
This looks promising.. Definitely a right direction to take

This is looking like a very nice patch but will take a long time to ship probably
