Alex is verbose, and you owe it to yourself (and the rest of us) to read the statement in its entirety. Remember, when making comments/claims to provide proper evidence, facts etc. Arguments based on incorrect assumptions, facts and straw men, will be dealt with swiftly. If in doubt, PM a mod or ask IRC. Do NOT spread misinformation, when in doubt, check your sources. In short, be smart. There is a huge amount of hypocrisy here when two of the community's favourite players (IdrA and Destiny) frequently use terms which are derogatory towards homosexuals. I am disgusted that the line is drawn here just because Orb is comparatively a nobody who doesn't make EG/QxG money.

There are acceptable ways of raging in ladder and he chose the wrong one. Lots of players rage in the same way, but that doesn't make it any better. Actions like that are (or should be enough) to fire any caster from any respectable and professional organization (and, of course, I have in mind organizations outside esports as well).

edit: Why should someone be allowed to rise to the top of e-sports (when there are clearly equally qualified people begging for a chance) when they choose to be hateful in such a manner.

I don't think Orb deserved to lose his job outright, but I certainly respect that EG is willing to set a standard for professionalism, and frankly, our communities values.

Not too shocked people talked to your sponsors after this - "Jake has said this was not him last night, that he went to bed, that he has a couple of friends who he shared his account with - which obviously he's not supposed to do - and that he woke up to this shit storm. Now, you all can choose to believe Jake or not. We at EG are all going to believe him, but have told him that if we find out that this is not the case, your story does not flush, and this is your behaviour and you continue to act this way, then you will be very, very quickly removed from our world." After reading this it seemed like you might try (or at least were wishing) to make it seem like baseless complaints and not really investigate it, but after you were contacted by sponsors you understood how real the shit just got. Regardless, I'm glad the way you handled it (even if I personally view it as your hand was forced to deal with it). It's really too bad the way Orb tried to handle this not to mention childish.

We still have bad eggs in our community, but I'm glad that enough people care enough about decency and respect that Orb lost his job over this.

I am glad that you wrote this response and I hope that in the future kids will think twice before they type anything into chat, not because of fearing what might happen to them but because it is wrong, plain and simple. I will be contacting your sponsors and I hope many do the same, you have shown that you really care about the community, your values, and the dignity of others. What I hope you would do is link a page with your sponsors and their contact information, so that we could send positive comments about your response on this matter. Good call. support this post totally.

Counter-Strike players (mostly White and Asian) decided that it would be fun to masquerade as an African-American Counter-Strike team. Just curious... why is it ok to refer to Caucasians/Europeans as "white" but not African-Americans as "black" and Asians as either "yellow" or "brown"? Anyone else see the problem with this statement? User was warned for this post

Is it the same situation? Probably not, but I can respect an organization that is willing to make moves like this maintain professionalism. We want esports to matter. We want it to mean something. This is a step in the right direction.

It's kind of like if I stole a toy from a grocery store when I was 8. Later in life I work there, and somehow someone finds out that a decade ago I stole a 99cent toy, and I was fired. Sounds ridiculous right? You are comparing stealing a 99cent toy as an 8 year old to an adult calling people n*****'s and f**''s? Sounds ridiculous, right?
