Thank you so much. This was necessary. Racism can't be a part of our community, and regardless of whether what Orb was thinking when he said "nigger" he needed to understand that the word is widely offensive and carries weight. He didn't care about that and for that reason I don't think he should have a public job in our community. Thank you for this post, Mr Garfield, I didn't really like you before but you've won yourself a fan. | ||

I'm also extremely curious as to wondering why people would contact sponsors to show their outrage after such little time spent on the matter and no EG comments being made on it yet, that's just asking for hurt if you're wanting this scene to grow. Thanks for the post Alex, really well written, constructed and it makes sense. And although I share wildly different opinions on the context of these words, I do agree with your decision wholeheartedly and hope that people are willing to tell your sponsors that they were wrong and aren't going to change their view on EG in any way shape or form based upon some mistakes that weren't in EG's control. | ||

Think before you act people...why would you contact sponsors before a statement is released. They need to look into the claims and figure out what action needs to be taken and THEN WRITE THE STATEMENT. Why would you put a team in hot water before they made a decision because of a player on the team. Its the same thing when Grubby lost his steel series sponsor. People immediately said "I am not buying this product anymore" "wow you dropped Grubby well cya steel series I am going to razer" With that said I am happy with the action taken and hope we as a community can learn from it. | ||

They've been my favourite team, I've got an EG mousepad, and one of the Hoodies and generally watch a lot of the team in general. That certainly ends today. This type of caving in to pressure by a loud, vicious minority of people who were hunting, not out of genuine offense, but to cause drama is an incredible display of horrible judgement and a complete lack of loyalty. I could give two shits about orb...and to be honest, no one could. Nobody REALLY cares about it. It's just something to talk about between events. Totally selling out an employee to save your own ass, especially while completely tolerating IdrA's...existence, and inviting Destiny onto EG sponsors and produced shows is so hypocritical as to be laughable. I don't believe a single damn word Alex Garfield said, and his fake offendedness over this word is so ridiculous it's not worthy of any respect. It's the worst type of fake, two-faced holier-than-thou bullshit you can get. Shove your sanctimonious bullshit and hypocritical policy and fuck off.
