people can't just make announcements for people we've never heard of, for teams we've never heard of. well obviously they can since they just did it. now get out of here and take your attitude with you. You gonna tell me and the 10 other people, which is half of the thread, to get out too? Cheers mate. I don't know about him, but I will. Players such as HuK and Naniwa didn't get eFamous because they just happened to get announced, they got it because they are very skilled players, this guy is 'top 50 gm' which while being a good accomplishment is not the kind of thing which makes me jump out of my seat. Not everyone is a Naniwa or a Huk you know. That's why not every player gets a fucking ridiculous thread announcing an announcement through teaser websites and bullshit sound files. Other players get a simple thread announcing their new team. Fuck, even threads about shitty songs are still up and running, why isn't an announcement like this worth its own thread? It's about a player joining a team, the most seminal act in the SC2 scene. If you don't care about that and only about star players, I'm sorry to say but you're really superficial. And people wonder why it's so hard to break in the SC2 scene... It's because people like you don't give a shit. Wow calm down. Please what they really want to know is why this unknown team picking up a unknown player deserve a thread while a lot of other good players, and more known players, change team and don't get a thread. Ofcourse if they arn't unkown please tell me their achivements and history. Because I sure can't find anything. Happy birthday, but still if you don't know him its not his problem? Doesn't mean he is "unknown". He might be no superstar, but he's very known to me and a lot of other EU players. I still remember when TaKe / me did cast him against Startale_Rainbow and he took the game very easily so.. he is always high ranked and has good tournament runs :x If you really think he's a noname, please do your homework first before writing its not worth an announcement. Do my homework? How much do you want me to do? I enter the thread and saw a team I have never heard of announcing a player I have never heard of. From the thread I saw I was not alone in this so instead of just saying "who joins what?" I decided too actually look up the teams website. And you know what? There was nothing about the team, and nothing about the players. This is the only page on the site. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/m061E.png) So much information! Neither the op nor the site say anything about their accomplishments. And no I don't mean beating pros on the ladder. That happens all the time. Sure it means he isn't a complete scrub, but it is not an accomplishment. Sure some people will know him I'm sure. But even if I have heard his name once and he have been casted a few times in some weekly cup, he is still a unknown. He isn't even close to Huk, Idra, Naniwa, White-ra. People who everyone can see "oh yeah they picked up him? I know what he can do and have done, cool". He IS unknown. He haven't won any major tournament, maybe some weekly or daily cups, maybe he is bigger in German, sure, but not internationally. What I really want to say is, that if you want to announce a player, with no major record, and your team don't have any record at all either, as you can see the team isn't even active yet. They say they will start up on the first of April. If that is the case, don't you think they should mention what tournaments the player have won? What players he have beaten in those tournaments? Because 3 ladder games where he beet some really good players just are not enough. The post should be so that we, who don't know who it is can get to know him, and the team, not so that the few people who know who he is can say congratulations on joining a new started team. Again please tell me what actual tournaments he have won and who he beat to win them. Then I can start to be impressed. By "do your homework" he means open the fucking Liquipedia, type "elvis" and see what he has accomplished, and then post. It's not that hard and it helps you from looking like an idiot coming to a thread asking "who joined who?" like a smartass. From Liquidpedia and Wiki, he's just a dude who has been playing the game since beta and didn't play in any notable tournaments or has any notable results until now. imo, that fits the definition of unknown. Even some SEA players have more notable results than him.
Although I hate to say it, but this topic is nothing but pure advertisement imo. They should have gone with the old school announcement, which is accouncing new pro team, and the SC2 line up; instead they announce a relatively unknown players (oh come on, he's relatively unknown to most people who follow SC2, don't even try to deny that), and make it announcement of announcement of a new organization.....

And seriously, like 99.9% of the teams that post their new recruitmens on TL do it because of advertisment of their trademark and generating more hits on their website, not like it's a secret and nothing wrong with it either.

Every Frenchmen and Belgian knows ELVIS, and every European pro to an extent.
You may even have already seen him play while watching Kas or Stephano's stream as they meet often on the ladder.
I'm glad to see him make the next move and commit fully to SC 2 because he really has the potential to go far, I mean he got to top 50 GM while having a 40 hours/week job in another country.
Him and Feast know each other well and I'm really glad to see Belgian players stepping their game up.
Long live to the King of Drones :3

Oh wow a lot in people are being completely rude in here. If you can please tell me ( and a couple other people asking,) why should I care about this player or the team then please do tell. Otherwise dont act like assholes and get all knee-jerk "OMG SHOW SOME RESPECT U R A NOBODY" and tell me why we should show some respect instead of simply demanding it because he had a thread made about him.

A little less conversation a little more action please! Gonna watch the replays :D

Wow, sickest pick-up, most likely one of the most talented players in the world right now!

You guys miss the point entirely. I'm not bashing him for not being known nor because he isn't good. I don't know him so I don't know his skill at all. And why should I not post in a thread that I disagree with? Because I shouldn't tell a new team how they can improve? Because you can take a lot of what I said as feedback. Sure I don't think they deserve a thread, but since it isn't closed TL think they do and I'm fine with it. Even so they could improve a lot on the OP. Because even if I know that I can take 10 seconds to look him up on Liquipedia, that is 10 seconds I should not have to spend. Call me lazy if you want, but it is a fact that the less work you have to do, the more inclined you are to read/do it. And if his accomplishments had been in the OP it would have been a better OP. And yes there are a few "people on teams" that know who he is but what does that have to do with anything? What does it prove? Nothing. Sure I'm a nobody in SC2, I have never said anything else, but so are 99% of TL so I'm in good company. Even if I'm a nobody though, my thoughts can still be relevant and something to consider. You maybe disagree with me, but that is no reason to be rude and tell me to get out.
I also still don't see how you can say he isn't unknown. He have won 2 weekly cups and 2 qualifiers to 2 smaller cups (French, Belgian, and Swiss players only), he do not have thousands of players watching his stream, nor has he participated in any larger event. Again I'm not bashing him, not everyone can be famous and he can be up and coming. But he is still unknown to the wast majority of the SC2 community.

Sarcasm?
Also, since Elvis is the King, and Kings of Starcraft are called bonjwas, does that mean that:
ELVIS is a BONJWA?

nice for elvis i guess eventhough i never heard of this team before...
hope he is even more motivated right now to do well

i know him, but i have to agree that you have to follow weekly cups and the european scene quite a lot to actually have heard of him because he didnt really do anything too special

advertisements in general are allowed if they are interesting for the community and not JUST benefit the advertised organisation and this is clearly interesting for the community so i don't see any problem here...
if you don't care about the kinda b-level scene then just don't write in this thread because there are a lot of people that actually care about up and coming players not just the superstars if we all were like you we would have 20 stars and they would quit one after another and eventually there will be nothing left of this community
but hey luckily there are other people around so we can keep going...
