Nuff said! What was the point of having a match between 2 players who were already out in the first place? That's bad organization. It's like watching MLG finals then after it finishes..the absolute last players (the first that got kicked out) have a match of vengence between them...useless....

See, this is the problem -- he does something that people think is unprofessional or BM, and that's a totally valid opinion to have. There are a lot of reasons why he shouldn't have probe rushed. But people saying stuff like this just escalates everything into a giant shit-fest. Of course it's just a comparison for the sake of showing that track records compound =.=

All of you arguing for "his match meant nothing therefore he should not be forced to play" is ridiculous. If you look at the UEFA Cup, teams that have no chance of qualifying must still field a team and play the match. Even if they have no chance of moving forward, players are still on the field, and they still play. They don't field a team of 6 players. They field a team of 11. Imagine showing up to a UEFA Cup game and the team decides to field 6 players because the match doesn't mean anything. No one would stand for it in the soccer community and no one should stand for it here. Except they would start B-teamers and youth academy players. In professional sports leagues around the world, a team with no chance often sits "injured" star players for an entire month, start players that totally do not belong in the major leagues, try wild strategies, et cetera to try to see "what they have for the future." No one would stand for it in the sports-watching community and no one should stand for it here. Oh, wait. Except they do.

Instead of making the finals of an event so top heavy with prizing.. you spread the amount out for group play as well. It is how ESL does it for their IEM group stages and it means that every match matters (at least to a point). Even in real sports... meaningless games often have a financial implication. Just my 2 cents.. or if they dont want to pay extra money (or divide the pool for whatever reason) they could just make everyone progress, higher positions further up the starting rounds. mlg-esque. it makes every group game matter

What was the point of having a match between 2 players who were already out in the first place? It is kind of strange. The nice thing about the regular Code S group stages is that they changed the format to make sure that every game matters. I know that this is a special tournament and that it's just nice to have all these big names together, but Idra does have a good point.

What was the point of having a match between 2 players who were already out in the first place? To earn money from the sponsors? To be able to profit from hosting a tournament. To be able to host more tournaments in the future.

Considering the very negative responses from Korean teams, players, and media, do you regret what you did? Would you have done it differently if you could do it again? If I could do it again i would just 4 gate and then people wouldnt have complained, this is no different from what Stephano did against Cloud at Dreamhack [Note: After going 0-2 and being eliminated from his group, Stephano went for two very early pool builds against Cloud. Stephano's match against Cloud had ranking implications for other players in his group], People are just hating because it's me who did it. another example comes to mind Were the Koreans pissed at Moon when this happened?

I feel like Korean players and a big part of the SC2 community are right now ganging up and hating on Naniwa, it's close to bullying in my opinion and it disgusts me. I thought good of this community but it's showing it's true colours more and more. The HoN and FPS communitys are assholes but atleast they arent hypocrites and Dramaqueens the lot of them. As soon as Naniwa does something it is blown out of porportion and people take the chance to hate on him. He played his 3 games that mattered and he gave it all. He lost and all 3 games were close and he chose to forfeit the last match in a faschion that is arguable. You guys are actually okay with Naniwa's behavior?

Don't agree to play games even if they're meaningless. Goes both ways. Terrible format yes (though it's nice to see more games) but Naniwa did agree to it. Don't say you'll do things and then don't do them.

SC2 community is easily the most biased community i have ever been a part of. of course it's the truth. but maybe he should be looking at WHY that is the case? it's 100% his fault why his history looks so poor compared to the more respected (in terms of personality) pro-gamers. if he simply doesn't care, then he shouldn't be complaining about something like people targeting him.
