Except for the fact that half the things he's done before were also blown up by the community unnecessarily. Naniwa and Nestea after the debacle at MLG? Chatting like friends in the player area. TeamLiquid/Reddit? Brandishing pitchforks.

Lol, another thing I love about SC2... You'll never actually see a good comparison between situations, it's always compared to mass murder, rape, and other outlandish things.

I agree totally. If someone does this its meh , but forgotten easily. If its IdrA or Naniwa for example, theres a huuuuuuuge deal made out of it. He lost, NesTea lost. Neither of them could go trough and there was nothing to gain from the match. GOM should have just scrapped it altogether imo. To the 'but it was nesteas bday' -ppl, im sure naniwa wished him a happy bday if he knew, but else, im pretty sure he couldnt give a flying f* if it was his bday or not. Stupid arguments are stupid, lets pile on more stuff that has nothing to do with it but makes it look worse! yaaay GOM, just scrap these matches like u do in up-n-downs

Instead of making the finals of an event so top heavy with prizing.. you spread the amount out for group play as well. It is how ESL does it for their IEM group stages and it means that every match matters (at least to a point). Even in real sports... meaningless games often have a financial implication. Just my 2 cents.. But then people would complain about the difficulty of each group.

Just the ones that bother us and stand out are these disgusting attempts at making everything seem worse than it is. There's a blog comparing the meaningless games between two 0-3 players and baseball that does it very well.

Even there is nothing at stake, you play/perform/race your heart out! No matter what happened before, you sweat until the last seconds. Professionalism means you don't "get heartbroken and willingly perform poorly" , no matter what you TRY to do what you do. Feelings should be put aside if one wants to be called "Professional". Being professional , being called professional has a magnitude, but it is given like candies in gaming forums... Just because fan's can relate to the feelings of a professional, it doesn't mean it is justified. There is a reason fans are fans, and pro's are pro's. I suggest people read about Molière's last performance, if they want to understand what professionalism is...

He could have just left the game at the beginning, but he did something nobody would ever expect to happen in GSL. Was pretty entertaining, too. Would have been an interesting game if it had any impact on the ranking.

Google translate is unreliable and I would really like to know what the BossToss himself thinks of the situation. Edit: from MC's twitter From Waxangels's blog @oGsMC: I was really lost for words after watching today's game. Does he even know what the word "pro" is? My role model for professionalism is White-Ra. He really loves his fans, and doesn't give up his games until the end, and he's very mannered towards everyone. Does anyone dislike White-Ra? I hope Naniwa can look at White-Ra and change his mentality. I don't think it's right to do that, not considering your opponent at all. I wish he'd think about how he would have felt if I had gone 3-0 and confirmed #1 in my group, and he was 0-3, and I thought that since I'm 1st place nothing matters and just GG'd out of my game against him. Well, if you there's no big deal because there's no money on the the line, then I can't say anything to that, you're just not a pro. After seeing Naniwa, I thought HerO was all the more awesome for being so upset about losing his games yesterday.

Try telling that to every other player who doesn't. Question to those still up in arms about what this guy did. Why do you even bother watching Johan play then?
