Im not 100% sure but in the gsl group stage (in the previous seasons) such a game (where neither player could succeed) wouldn't eveb be played. So it's baisicly GSL's fault for having such a stupid tournament format.

I think it would be much better if all the players play for seeing in the goup stage and no player would be eliminated afer the group stage.
Just like MLG has.

Naniwa just can't reply fast enough for everyone. Hopefully people will read this and calm down a little, and actually think about what happened.

At least he played the match and not forfeited.

how do you want to make sure that players don't throw matches? only possibility is to have ko-systems.
even money doesn't always help.

If you want eSports to be taken seriously, and "professionally" you can't have players purposely throwing matches no matter of their importance. You don't see any sports team throw the last game of the season even if they know they won't make the playoffs. Sure, they will not put forth a 100% effort - but they still play the game to win.

People love to win, and it appears that Naniwa only cares about winning money - no love for the game, just the cash.

People love to win on ladder
People love to win MONEY in competitions otherwise why bother? Fame? ... Fame comes with winning competitions (that means also money). Tell me which were the players at MLG Orlando...or Providence...or whatever other competition #2 #3 and #4 without googling. U already forgot them right? Fame = #1 ...rest are forgot the next day.

When u go to work..u go to earn money... When u want to work out of pleasure u sit at home and do it for free as a passion.

Absolutely no pro on this planet will tell u "Oh i fly 50km to get more fame" No..they will tell u "I practice because i want to win competitions....because the money is good"
U MAD BRO?

The difference between a 4-gate and 6 probe auto-attack"rush" is: one requires thought and effort (however little it may be), one requires none. There's a fine line between the two in gamesmanship, in my personal opinion.

Although the match was meaningless advancement-wise. It did make MMA essentially play back-to-back against Polt. Just playing the devil's advocate.

Great jo to get the interview done this fast! But I miss two questions:

1. Does he feel bad for Nestea, who wanted to play seriously, or does he feel like he owed Nestea to try his best?

2. What if people were for example betting on this match?

Anyways, I think we can all agree that the system is at fault for forcing them to play...
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

People are just hating because it's me who did it.

That's the truth right there.

Give him a break, those losses were heartbreaking and that game had no implication for anyone in the group, as he says himself this wasnt much different from a 4gate.

Naniwa is my favourite player because he wears his heart on his sleeve and cares more than almost any other player.
He is willing to work extremely hard, and when he fails, sometimes he has a hard time dealing with it.

Yeah, just like a rapist who got out of jail decides to go rape again gets a more severe punishment than a first time offender. Such an unfair system!

Dude probe rushes and he's an asshole?

HuK mothership rushes in a game that actually mattered but it was the best thing ever because he wasn't hated and said some one-liner about Halo.

Stephano has a fanatic fanbase so his games against BratOK are forgotten from Assembly and the games mentioned already in the OP.

IdrA forfeits all his games in IPL Pool Stage with money at stake and people paying to see him play and attending that day just to see him play. Again, there are not 50 threads/blogs about it.

It seems people just want to hate on NaNi for his past mistakes, rather than taking his present actions at face value. This includes the Korean teams and players.

I don't think it's a big deal at all... People shouldn't give him a hard time over this.

"I just felt like it wouldn't satisfy the fans at all with playing half hearted."

This sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Because that's exactly what he did!!

Are you not entertained?
Progamers are not media profiles beyond their performances and if there's nothing on the line I cannot see the point. Seeing how Idra threw the placement match at MLG Providence against Haypro, I cannot understand the blind rage at least there were money and an actual placement in top 10 at the stake.

If there is some sort of Korean cultural thing, well welcome to the international world. Can't call their tournament Global if they cannot cope with varying attitude from a global perspective.

As a fan I cannot care anyways, as nothing was lost and the grudge between them is just a bunch of community-driven bollocks.

Of course this is my biased perspective as a fan. I can admit to always become annoyed at Idra's rage but I still see no balance excuses from Nani, he is only disappointed in his own performances, which he should be as a professional.

But yet the 4 gate would have saved him from all this shitfest. Theres the difference.

This is what people should be talking about.

Because fans would still want to watch the game....? Meaningless game or not for the tournament, it had a storyline to it. People would have been upset for sure if they didn't have them play the match for pride's sake.

Also, "people are upset just because it's me that did it". Yes, no shit. Repeat offenders don't get off with the same punishment as first time offenders. This is like the 20th time in his career that something like this is happened.

I would argue its a case by case scenario. The punishment isn't always the same. Johan receives a lot more attention compared to other gamers (repeat offender, yup it comes to fruition in this case).

Greg is in a similar category as Johan yet they are treated different.

Who gives a fuck about a pro game where both pro gamers cant win ANYTHING. No one.

Stop whining about a game no one cares about. Naniwa can do whatever he wants to do. Worker Rush is a viable option for a useless game, i wouldnt have played the game at all.... stupid BO1 group stage.

Well done GomTV, well done......

No. It's more like a rapist gets out of jail and helps a woman pick up some groceries and gets arrested for sexual assault.

Wow, thanks for getting this up so fast TL, really nice to have some words from him to (hopefully) quell the flames a bit.
Artosis: "You need to hold my hand." Tasteless: "I'm very good at that."
