MajOr: No. I don't feel any pressure at all, acutally. I know Artosis from Starcraft 1. I take his words really lightly. There's an air of pretention I just can't shake about this guy, I mean, ever since he joined ROOT as Princess I wanted to like him, I really did, I just... eh.
It's like he doesn't appreciate anything at all.

to be fair, It sometimes feels like that everybody who knows Artosis from BW takes him lightly

Honestly, I can't stand this player. Every time I read anything from him, it seems so... gross. Can't stand him.

I remember him refering to artosis as the "greatest person in the world" in another interveiw, all he is saying he does not really bother caring about all the useless Hype artosis loves to spread around.

I agree in that generally atleast from experience people will say the best player is the one who plays a race in common with them. Like I think IdrA and NesTea are the best in the world an I play zerg while my friend thinks Nani, Huk, and Puzzle are the greatest thing since sliced bread an he plays protoss lol

Why did you join CheckSix? ... I needed someone to pay my expenses.
They'd better teach him how to interview or tell him not to interview anymore. Right now the image he is portraying is someone who doesn't give two hoots about the team he's on... He's just a gold digger looking for anyone to give him a free ride.

There are no special prizes for playing "creatively" or picking the "underdog" race/character/faction/class. Seriously, this kind of topic isn't even up for debate.

It's not like he's an accountant or like most of us who work for a particular company for money. He's a professional SC2 player which in a sense makes him part competitor and part entertainer. I don't know too much about how the financial aspect of running a team works but if I'm not mistaken a fair amount of the income is from sponsorship and marketing. To this end, how likable or respected your team is matters.
Regardless of whether or not he's "telling the truth", the optics of his answers are pretty awful. I read the interview and when he said he was just on his team for the money I thought.....yea, maybe that's true but only an idiot or an aspergers would actually say it like that. You think if an interviewer asked HuK what he likes most about EG he would say "the money"? He needs some PR training in a big way and if the problem is the language barrier he should give his responses in Spanish and have someone translate.

I really doubt if he thinks before he opens his mouth lol. All his actions and words seem to indicate otherwise.
Its not just about his bad manner - but his overall actions and the way he conducts himself in events and intereviews give the impression that he's a total bonehead.
And TBH in spite of Artosis and other people raving about his natural "talent" looking at his recent results, they seem to be nowhere near the likes of people like Nani/Huk/SaSe.
Also offtopic, what the heck happened to Fenix? He seems to be totally off the radar. Is he still practising in Korea?

just hearing major talk is frustrating
also, MVP is the best player right now, with nothing else to base that on but accomplishments

The only people who think he's portraying the image you brought up are people who didn't read the whole interview or already don't like Major and just want to nitpick any meaningless thing to confirm the opinion they already have.

This is moot, the question wasn't "Major, what do you like most about CheckSix?" and the answer Major gave wasn't "the money." Also, HuK and Major are different people.

No I read it, and it still portrays that image. "Yes, I am happy with the team, they are great." That's the extent of it, which re-affirms my beliefs. He's certainly not going to say anyhing other than that. This is also the exact reason I already don't like him. The things he says, the actions he takes, etc... It's not meaningless at all either. It's a bad image for CheckSix. That's pretty meaningful.

Honest and unadorned answers to all the questions. He could probably analyze a bit more, but it seems that he doesn't care about the e-sport scene very much (at least not about the "be talkative and lovable" part) and only cares about his goal, which is to become better by practicing hard. I don't find anything wrong with that. Of course he's in a team and he should follow some rules but I don't think that what he said is far from the truth (he needs the team for his expenses, team needs him for being good and win stuff).
|
Heh.. this player gets so much hate from the nerds, He's a blunt kinda guy who's in there to win it and doesn't give a rat's ass about any other thing, be it, e-sports, the gaming community or being a 'figure-head' and other shenanigans that take him away from his goal.. pretty much like Naniwa... and you know what, that's also fine so long as he keeps improving.

I don't think that's how it works. I don't think most players consider their own race when determining the best player. Typically, you look at results. Head to head with other potential candidates, and overall tournaments won.
