Lately I've been watching Bisu's FPVOD. And his multitasking puts to utter shame and insignificance what I can see on streams and replays from the fastest SC2 players around.

The best BW pros are worlds better than the former BW pros who are leading the SC2 scene at the moment, so this is gonna be awesome

On the one hand, I'm an SC2 watcher who's absolutely giddy at the thought of top Brood War players switching. But on the other hand, I have nothing but respect for Brood War (and really regret not getting into the scene earlier), and I definitely do NOT want BW to die. I think I'd prefer BW players to stay BW players for awhile. After all, Starcraft 2 can survive without Brood War players, but I doubt the same can be said for Brood War.

New builds/compositions imo will be more adjustments and refinements, outside of the obvious patching that changes things. People seem to keep using the term metagame when it's more patching pushing strategy changes than evolution on it's own. Also everything is within pro players skill level, for the most part; You don't get niche strategies relying 100% on micro to survive at all (say, 2hatch prehaps as an obvious example or sair/reaver or 2port wraith) because that kind of thing is too vulnerable in SC2 compared to BW. Things like uphill advantage and clumped units affect this somewhat as well. You can defend a much weaker uphill position in BW to a huge extent, allowing you to hold ramps/chokes with much greater ease and therefore rely more on specialist units as your aggression. For example of how clumping changes things, a large marine/medic army will find it hard to break a concave of sunkens in a choke; simply because of space. Allowing Zerg to tech harder or focus more on mutalisk harass. Hope this explains it somewhat but i don't think that SC2 will be subject to sweeping strategy changes without patching helping it. Things will be refined in more subtle ways still though of course. If there is a specialist unit composition that somehow becomes viable instead of the core units (and isn't just a cheese or relying on surprise), personally i think they would patch it because they want a certain composition in the first place. The BW strategy advancements that continue to this day are pretty much all because its so ridiculously hard mechanically, new things are done a lot of the time just because they literally couldn't do it before. All RTS games i can think of are relatively strategically simple at their core so if the difficulty is reasonable, the game will be worked out to it's most effective strategies within a short time, especially with the amount of talented minds playing SC2 at an immediately professional level. Edit: and yeah what you are talking about, Bisu as the revolutionist.. he is so because he was the only player who could multitask to the extent that sair/dt needed beat top zergs at the top. His PvZ and corsair usage is still better than everyone elses, 4 years on. The strategy spread to others but it was his mechanical superiority that allowed him to do it first and easiest.

There will be either no or 1-2 new builds (that aren't stupid gimmick builds, like a 2 gate/rax/etc proxy cheese) in total for all 3 races. Meaning across all 3 races, there will be either 0-2 new builds NOT for EVERY race, but ALL together. So like terran 1 protoss 1 zerg 0. Mark my words.
