"just walk out"

just lol, its like saying you can survive storm with lings as long as you spread them out...

There something called fungal growth with a rooting ability cast by some other race unit, just sayin.

Biggest problem for me is that the oracle and the tempest both do things the corsair did in a single unit that they scrapped in favor of the phoenix. The phoenix was apparently so bad at the niches it was meant to fill (harassment and killing mutaliks) that they had to introduce 2 completely new units in order to make it viable.

Breaking the ball then gettin surrounded & die in an other way ? Very interesting.

The Phoenix and the Tempest both have overlapping roles. Imo they should just merge both units into 1 somehow...

so I didn't really feel like turning through 300+ pages of this..
The new protosss "copy that unit" ability work on drones/scvs?

i dunno about the exact mechanics - what you just described is basically the reaper and i know blizz doesn't want 100% identical units across the races.
but i wouldn't be surprised if we see them resurrect the soul hunter in legacy of the void. i have a feeling this expansion is going to be about introducing as many different game-changing unit mechanics as they can get away with, while LotV will be more about cementing in place what they want the game to be like in the long term - which will hopefully be fairly robust already by then. plus toss definitely needs to get something cool for their expansion. they definitely aren't this expansion based on what we've seen.
i also agree with everyone saying the replicant is uninspired. lazy workaround. hopefully it'll be too tough to balance to actually make release and they'll have to introduce a real unit. while they're at it they can give the oracle some good spells.
i say these things without any real authority on game balance. i have no clue how the stuff theyre introducing will fit into balance. but the design and philosophy of the replicant and oracle are bad. the mineral FF thing is such a transparent attempt to patch up difficulties protoss has in multiplayer. who at blizzard thought a spell that freezes mineral patches would be at all a fun way to harass? nevermind an effective way. reaper control is fun. sneaking infestors into mineral lines is fun. freezing minerals is the most zzzzzzzz thing i've ever heard.

Is it just me, but do i sense that terran now has a new deathball of transformed hellions, warhounds, and the uber thor.

And, by that same logic, Protoss can trap enemy units with Forcefields then insta kill them with their 5 Collossi. Because, you know, gas is free in Starcraft II.

You realise what you just described is standard protoss and happens 90% of games right? You just made a valid point against your own argument ><.

There is a difference between being trapped and killed, and being trapped and killed without being able to shoot back.

I don't think it realise it's the case.

That dark swarm type spell just makes it so units under the swarm can only be ATTACKED by melee. Not that they lose their range. Kennigit mentions how using it on tanks was a terrible decision when he tested the game against Zelniq (Who chose Terran when playing Kennigit). Its in the news section of the forums under "Blizzcon live coverage" or something to that effect.

In HOTS it will be: Fungal than dark swarm, now you can't move or attack at a greater range than 1.
The chances of you reacting in time are slim to nil.

What we want is more overpowered abilities. It'll raise the skill ceiling and make the game more BW like. These changes be good.

Not for toss from my point of view.

It actually happens all the time. Except Zerg units = cheap, and Protoss units = expensive. And Zerg has a way better eco than Protoss in most cases. Protoss is supposed to be the cost efficient race and rape zerg armies like nothing, if anything. The other way around should sound ridiculous, except zerg players find it normal. Well we can replicate both the viper and the infestor, so I guess we're on even grounds. I guess...
