Blizzard design staff probably woke up this morning and realized that their homework was due. I can almost sense an artist being rushed into drawing some protoss-like thing. Silhouette of a zealot with a mustache and glasses is incoming.

they do require micro, but i personaly dont consider stalkers and sentries micro heavy. its not that hard to click on a weaken stalker and press the B Buton to blink it away. especially when u have the HP tabs of units displayed on top of a unit so u can know exactly which unit is weak enough to blink back. FFs are the same. shift+F and click on the ground. the only hard part is knowing how and where to place correct forcefields.
so ya they require micro, but its not a very significant ammount of micro because of how this game is designed and how noob friendly it is.

it's most likely a shield-battery type unit or a re-vamp of the immortal. It probably has incredibly high shields and absorbs all the hits in an area until it's shield is depleted
