Sorry, that is entirely speculation on my part. It just seems that if they are adding another unit that has a flamethrower and appears to have a vehicle transformation mode, why have the Helion? The Helion may be superior, but I do not think Blizzard wants units to overlap in style and mechanics to that same degree. If they are determined to add this unit then it seems likely to me that the Helion will go. Again, entirely speculation on my part.
I do wonder that if Blizzard intends to change/replace the Helion then they also intend to change/remove the reaper.
edit: Or were you talking about the statement that there would be cuts? I forget where, but I think the interview that put greater emphasis on removing "not so fun" units.

I wonder what it will be, I just pray its mech-TvP related T_T Sure, if they remove the marauder. I have been praying for that daily since beta. You are wise, my friend. I will always be a fan.

I bet the protoss reveal will be a fathership, that you can only have 0 of at a time.

I hope its MECH-tvp related !!!

I don't like the theory, that the lumps are wheels.
they're in the wrong places. first of all: ankles? that makes little sense to me. it would be easier to support them when rolling around and it would have less leverage interrupting your walking if they were on knee height.
they're more behind the unit than in front of it. the unit would lie on its back when rolling, looking ahead of it seeing the world upside down and its arms would be useless. if he was on his stomach the arms would help control movement. lying on your back rolling on wheels doesn't seem plausible.( I could see that the shoulder "wheels" could maybe support him on his stomach, but look at his left leg. no way )
where do you fit an engine? flamethrower units usually have a huge gas tank, and on bio units it takes all the space on their back. I don't think blizz makes terran units look like the technology is super compact and sophisticated. if there's something in there, you'll see it and it's big. big is cool. I don't think this unit would have a flame thower, a gas tank, and an engine on its back. especially when he seems like the heavy type of a bio unit, carrying a heavy armor like marauder does.
they're too small. he's not going to ride a formula 1 track. maybe the wheels inflate? hooray for cartoons.
someone might argue against me by saying he's going to transform, but I would still hold on to my third argument - the one about space. I could see him having a complicated transformation, if he was the size of a goliath and a mech unit, but not when he's a bio unit the size of a marauder.
*****
maybe I didn't convince you that they're not wheels, but I'll still offer my alternative theory:
I think the shoulder lumps are some sort of containers or tubes of some sort anyway, and they're on his back, not on his shoulders. if you look at the silhuette between his left arm and his left leg, it looks like the diagonal line would continue to the edge of the lump, drawing a tube that reaches from his shoulder all the way down below his hips. together the 2 tubes form a triangle pointing down.
it's a heavily armored, probably slow moving, bio flamethrower unit.
the only mystery is the lump on his leg, and my guess is they're mines. there's a demand for mines. it's a dumb place for a heavy item, but I can't deny that there's something there. might as well be mines. would also bring something new to the firebat that they left out originally. it would be sort of awkward not to add something new to it
here's a pic of what I mean:

Artosis and Tasteless have finally completed the merger, however they are shocked to find they have morphed into a combination of the two things they hate the most. Marauder and hellion.

I guess that depends on your definiton of "go". Let's say that this new unit is basically "a hellion that can transform into a firebat", and that it's called an Infernal, then the hellion is still technically in the game, right?

It's ugly looking is what it is

My hypotesis it's late/midgame/unit anti-zerling bandeling. SO zerg need a new way to deal with marine and BIO. And it's the lurker.

I really hope they don't release like 20 of these things and then not show them till blizzcon...

Because IMO protoss was deisgned and (..i'm goign to use the word "balanced") around forcefield and colossus. If colossus was removed, they would need to redisign nearly every aspect of the race.
I think it is fine for them to tread WOL as bascially a beta (or maybe even alpha) for HOTS, but i dont think they should be making such sweeping changes at this state of the game.

Absolutely, it's an ARMORED REAPER :D!

It's an upgrade to the Marauder so that they can burrow to become perdition turrets.

That is perfectly plausible Maxie. However, for the moment I believe Blizzard will simply cut units that are too similar in style and mechanics or perhaps it is better to say they will cut units they feel will compete for exactly the same job. In this case, why have 2 vehicles with flamethrowers attached?
I could be dead wrong.
I cannot wait to see what they will do for Zerg and Protoss.

I think at this point it is quite obvious that this is a hellion transformation. The shields correspond perfectly to the 2 triangular shaped surfaces that form the plating on each side of the hellion's cockpit, which presumably would fold out. The wheels on the ankles are placed exactly where the hellion's wheels are if the two legs were brought together and of course the flame-thrower on the top is only a slight pivot away from its original position on the hellion.
My guess is that the unit in its bipedal form will have an armor bonus allowing it to tank reasonable amounts of damage giving terran a better option to fight zerglings and zealots. The unit will still be produced at the factory, it makes no sense for it to come out of the rax despite it having a bipedal form in the same way the viking does not come out of a rax.
Not the most exciting addition but it makes sense considering the terran race is considered to be the most complete out of the 3 so adding a second form to an existing unit seems to be a good compromise.
