- Wheels on feet - Shields on arms - Near copy of Hellion weapon above head - Gas tanks on back (could be more wheels?)
Firebat morph for Hellion that turns it into a slower yet more durable melee unit.
Edit: Read past page 5 and this has been said like 500 times. Sorry!
Though as an amendment, the turret on his head resembles Swann's Flaming Betty's weapon much more than the Hellion's.

Some type o mech science vessel. Ground unit that gives some kind of buff when in one mode and other buff when in another mode.

First take a look at this image I made: ![[image loading]](http://i54.tinypic.com/apjrr4.jpg) This is the original image of the unit after some simple modifications, namely greatly increased brightness and removal of the background. This made some hidden details visible. First of all it seems that there are indeed wheels attached to the unit, you can clearly see the rubber tire texture on one of them. Also the gun appears to be a flamethrower, consisting of the main upper barrel(s) for spraying the fuel and a smaller one for igniting it. Two large shields are also visible, apparently connected to the unit's 'arms'. Those observations lead me to believe that the unit is indeed a 'Helion Transformer'. I think that it will be produced in the Barracks in it's walker form and in this mode it will serve as a slow melee range meat-shield unit, acting primarily as a damage tank for the Marines. After building a Factory (maybe requiring a tech lab research) the unit will gain the transformation ability which will transform it into a standard Helion. It is possible that the walker mode will be a replacement for the Marauder in it's damage absorbing role, and there will be a light anti-armor unit added to the Factory. What do you think?
Nice first post and I kind of like the idea of Terran having a melee tank unit to meet zerglings and zealots on the battlefield. A merge ability just like with two templers seems plausible as well. Let's see if it proves to be right!

If you look at the top, it's an igniter jutting out to the side of the main barrel. So it's certain to be something flame related.
What I hate is the fact that it looks identical to the marauder. I think they wanted to re-use the firebat, but they already used that model for the marauder (there is no difference) so they put the flame weapon on its head. It'll probably have some kind of seige mode type mechanic, as both it's hands are shields by the look of things.
I bet they are going to call it a 'flame bear' as that's what the korean translation was for the BW one.
I do hope the hellion will go away and the vulture will be back. Giving some more depth to harassment.

like the hellion (nod buggy iirc) and banshee (orca) you mean? :>
tbh i dont like the looks of it so far. bulky mech thingy with shields and a gun/flamethrower on top just seems abit.. wrong.
but hey maybe its something super exciting
/edit also i know why ive stopped reading the sc2 section outside of drama/news threads. "LOLO TERRAN IMBA ANYWAYS NO NEED NEW UNITS!" evry 3rd post is stupidly annoying.

This unit looks ridiculous
and transform hellion? probably what it is.. but so lame... what purpose would this unit serve that is not already fulfilled by other terran units?
If it is an untransformed hellion it iwll be faster and better vs light.
if it transforms it will be slower. so i'm guessing it is either goign to have like.. anti-air hellion capabilities OR will have +damage vs armored (Marauder 2.0?)

This is weird, why on earth would Blizzard add more Terran units when the race is already rather complete compared to Zerg and Protoss?

I'm talking about something more like the Science vessel from singleplayer, healing mech with a beam. Scvs actually do a pretty terrible job repairing mech. This requires resources on the field and direct proximity to units, so it's expensive to do and they get killed easily due to low hp and no armor. The only reason scvs repairing mech seems good at times is because terrans already have tons of scvs around which were used to build the army in the first place, so making the mech army roughly 20% more powerful seems like a big deal. This is as opposed to medivacs which probably make a bio army something like 100% more powerful (depending on what units the opponent has).

one thing is also that this could be a counter unit to other new units we don´t know about yet... think about it
edit: and btw the order of presenting the units is the same as we get the addons terran-zerg-protos .. just a thought^^

Because terran players want cool new stuff too? ^^

They would release the terran unit first, even though its the zergs expansion ^^

maybe one unit will be removed... i dont know what to think right now, this thing is probably not gonna roast throught armored, so i cant see marauder removed....
marine are doing good against bling with proper splitting... for now it just seems like an extra unit :x

Imagine the possibilities. Just like the concept of a tank but without an attack and instead a spell.

so add nothing is what you are saying? what would i have to look forward to in the expansion? 0 units , just a 1 time single player? come on .. even blizzard is not that stupid, all races need something to justify buying the expansion.
And again, ppl always say terran has more options than the other races , well that may be true , but on the same token, terran should be used as a flagship race for what the other races should aspire to be like, so instead of doing dumbfuck moves like removing options , it would be way better to use the expansion to give other races more options too

Can't believe that so MANY freaking people seem to be pissed of that they are showing up a Terran unit?! Yes it's the most complete race, Doesn't mean they can't make a new unit does it?!
Blizzard did state they we're revealing units in the same order as the campaigns.
Terran-Zerg-Toss. It makes sense, and I frankly couldn't care less! Just chill, Blizzard will make new units for the other races aswell.
And why the freaking ''OP T gets more OP''. It's a silhouette, calm down -.-'.
*Man first i was afraid it was another bio unit. But now alot of things are pointing it's some kind of Hellion-transformer? I could like that .
I would love a mech unit that makes mech viable in TvP
Just look forward to HOTS guys
|
lol i love the first response on the bnet link "its OP"
hahaha to me it seems like it is some sort of hellion bio hybrid that might be filling the role the firebat did in bw.
|
Hmm... a Reaper that has a flamethrower and wheels, so might it be that he can shoot while moving? The wheels would allow him to move without effort, so he is free to shoot and the flamethrower on the turret allows him to shoot in all directions. He also seems to have a gun (looks like a pistol, sort of a 40k bolter pistol) to deal with enemies in front...
|
I'm hoping that it is a hellion transformer that has the role of the marauder in transformed state, and the marauder is removed, so there would be potential for a lot more micro with hellion position and transforming at the right times.
|
What if those aren't wheels? What if they are mines? Spider..Mines? The vulture returned as a bio unit?
*shits pants*
