Can this be translated with more finesse? It's a critical part of the story but is pretty confusing in its current form.
It's pretty much what he said, he's saying that they used tactics to confuse him into making a bad decision.

Legal, maybe (I'm not an expert here) but unethical. It isn't like Complexity has lost anything financially or have been exposed in some way. The situation is the exact same as it was last month for them. There is very big difference when a player breaches contract terms halfway through the deal and what Stephano did (change his mind, and who hasn't done that, especially at 18?).
I think it is enough that we are even talking about the issue, how this will effect e-sports moving forward and what Mill/Stephano/coL did differently. From reading comments, the majority believe Stephano is in the wrong here. There will certainly be some people who will view him negatively from now on. Isn't that enough? Apparently you didn't read all the mud throwing the manager of millenium has been doing for the past few hours... if that -- and the fact that a player just shit in their faces -- does not affect negatively the image of a team, then what does? there is little anyone can do at this point, it's a lose/lose situation for all involved.
There are very few people I have seen actually think Mill. is in the right for how they have acted on their stream towards this situation. From what I have read (albeit with no legal education whatsoever) Mill. has not done anything wrong. They may help represent Stephano if any legal action does come, but to me there isn't anything that can actually be pinned on them. My interpretation of what Jason Lake said on Reddit is that they (complexity) are pursuing legal action against Stephano for breach of contract.

It was an 18 day long brainwashing which contained promises of more money and korean training. :D

I have no respect for Stephano or Millenium after all this. Oh and no respect for France either!
Best of luck to Complexity in the future. ^_^

This whole situation is just so bizarre... I mean I wouldn't have pegged Stephano as being such a high profile player to warrant this kind of drama (maybe he's big in France?). I'm not gonna be one of those idiots parroting that this sort of drama hurts e-sports, but I will go so far to say that it's annoying to have to be constantly hearing/thinking about. It's nearly as infuriating as the NBA/NFL lockouts...

Eh saying that they don't have my respect isn't really flaming. Respect is something you earn and not really something that one should be upset about if they have not worked to earn it.

Who said I based my opinion of an entire nation off this? Some people, just silly.

Has anyone made a post on the legal cases for both parties? Above me is a reference to french common law, is there something I missed? Is there a well known legal loop hole or something?
Because by all legal sanity stephano and millenium are going to lose hard...

Relax, France is a great country and should not be mistaken for what the Millenium shills portray in this thread.
If Stephano broke a legal contract then he will not get off the hook if Complexity chooses to sue. The more worthy target however is Millenium and damages against them for tortious interference would probably destroy that hovel of a team.
What would happen if Complexity went the legal route: they would file suit in the U.S. A judgment for Complexity would receive cursory affirmation by international courts and Millenium would pay out the ass.

why can teams just communicate better and cause less drama....

Dear Citizens of the Internet,
It may shock some of you to hear that sometimes 18-year olds are inconsistent. It may amaze you that teams run by people who are largely ex-gamers and self-taught amateur businessmen may not live up to your standards of professionalism. But rest assured - this is not the first time these things have happened, and it will not be the last. Some might go so far as to say that these things happen all the time.
Hating 18-year-olds for changing their minds or fledgling organizations for lacking professionalism is like hating a dog for chasing cars. Probably justifiable, but ultimately silly.
Smile, and cheer for Stephano, who is a fantastic and promising player, or for Mill/CoL, who are excellent teams giving young players opportunities.

Who said I based my opinion of an entire nation off this? Some people, just silly. Um you did, see the part I bolded. Saying you have no respect for Stephano or Mill or France either 'after all this' says you are basing your opinion on all 3 off of this one incident. Nothing else has been brought up that you could base an opinion from.

One guy and two entities get involved in some shit drama, and that influences you to hate on a country? Curious to see how many countries you'll have no respect for with mundane reasons.
Hate to say it, but there really needs to be some sort of governing body that regulates player transfers. All of this drama and x team's manager/coach spouting stuff about y team stealing x team's player is just downright irritating.

is Stephano on CoL or not?

Big in France?? You have got to be kidding Stephano is the biggest sc2 talent coming out from the foreign scene. He is so good. Every major team has tried to sign Stephano for some time now.
