Well, don't judge him yet. According to his statement, he really wants to go to Korea and had already made arrangements with NsHoSeo for free lodging and food. That was the main point why he wanted to part with SJG. Now, blizzard just handed him 10k for winning the Bnet Invitational, so let's see what he does with that.

pretty much. Serious sports are physically only, and entail that billions of dollars change hands/ are made every year. otherwise its a hobby, even though its full of businesses sponsoring and actual money being won and made for people's livelihood from the "hobby".

I was stating it from the point of view of the person who was calling it a hobby. so noone really disagrees with me here. In order to illustrate his silliness in both thinking its just a hobby and that as something less serious people deserve act how they want. I'm neither pro nor anti-major, I'm simple anti-bad argument.

If I had a team I would sign Major in a heartbeat and put him in that Korean House. His skills are sick and with sage and company he would become a player thats skill would overshadow all of his actions.

You are incorrect. Also the word "threat" is misused by the majority of TL users when it comes to lawsuits. Informing someone you will take legal action can be considered a threat if it if used to intimidate. However, informing someone that you entered a contract with that you intend take legal action if they attempt to break their contract is fine and should be expected.
If you fail to pay your mortgage, the bank will send a letter that you are in default. In that letter, they will "threaten" to foreclose on you. That is not illegal and is required in almost every state.

I'm saying that constantly screaming "it's a business, you have to act like one" is overblown. It's not a business yet by the strictest sense, it's a cottage industry. It's still very much driven by outspoken, controversial, personalities (see: Destiny being one of the most successful streamers in the world, mostly because of his crazy personality).
If we are going to now start treating this as a strict corporate world business, then more than just Maj0r has some personality overhauling to do. We just went through this same BS when Destiny was cut from Complexity (for remarkably similar reasons). Now in the end, who do you think got the better end of that deal? The team who was trying to act suit and tie business, or the player who decided to be himself and just do his thing. If you answered the player, you'd be correct. Destiny's stream numbers are stronger than ever, and Complexity is still a middle tier team.
I think a lot of us just roll our eyes when people in this community start talking about SC2 being a business. Especially because so many people pick and choose the pieces of "being a business" they want to support (for instance, they want the sponsor dollars, but god forbid someone try and mandate a professional looking uniform). This is still a cottage industry, driven by a fan base that is remarkably male and young. Trying to conform the community into something safe for prime time TV is going to fail, horribly. It's just not there yet, both from a maturity and a dollars point of view. The money isn't big enough to cause people to think about it.

You should use your hard earned money and start a SC2 team. Put countless hours into it and try to maybe make it a profitable venture. Make sure and setup a large number of clan wars and events for your players to attend etc..
Maybe try and get some marketing arrangements and advertising contracts based on the talent and notoriety of your players led by princess/terran/major/kitty.
Then please post how you feel when you lose clan wars because you star player doesn't feel like playing.
Please let us know how the meetings with sponsors go when the promised publicity of uniform adspace never materializes because your start player can't remember to pack his bags properly.
Please tell us about your profit/loss as a team as your contracted star player asks for a raise after a few months and one major tournament (don't forget to included how your angry sponsors affect your bottom line).
Also I would love to know about your personal stress when you need to be on constant PR duty putting out the flames when your pro star player BM's his team mates, his opponents, and lies repeatedly to win a few hundred dollars in a tournament he isn't eligible for. Finally after you have delt with all of the headache above please let us know how you feel when your star gets a case of the grumpies because you didn't give him everything he wanted and leaves your team.

His career in SC2 isn't over unless he chooses it to be. Idra was independent for the better part of Starcraft 2. Matter of fact it was when he had his best results. You don't need with this so called "Greater Organization".
What specificity of his attitude doesn't belong in pro-gaming? My opinion is your attitude doesn't belong on forums, involving discussions you know very little of. His attitude may not belong in SixJax gaming or in most "Greater Organization".
But, most definitely his attitude is welcome in pro-gaming.

What do you mean independent? Idra was picked up by EG quite shortly after he left CJ.
