Meanwhile... Idra is streaming with commentary to 13k+, representing/hyping his sponsors like a boss and not being kicked off his team.
And Terran is still an immature twat-bag that the vast majority of the community loathes.
The only thing that i expect to get watching IdrA's stream is laugh when he rages and BM's and i would expect it attracts viewers. His play isn't interesting at all, it's just about his BM and rage. People just like drama and IdrA delivers it quite often. Cool. As long as you watch and care... thats all that matters to Idra, EG and EG's sponsors. Unfortunately for Terran... nobody watches and nobody really cares. Yeah... that's like being a clown: As long as people laugh at you, you get paid. I watch IdrA because he's a solid Zerg. I watch Major because he's a solid Terran. Major doesn't really bm like IdrA. They do different things. In the wbc thing, as far as i know, all he said was "good job idiot" after wbc offensive gg'ed him. Compare that to idrA who flips people off on mainstage. This is in no way defending Major, but I think it's stupid to compare them both. a totally aggressive (and immature) Throat cutting gesture from MC and everyone harps on the most universal well used hand sign thats not really too serious from Idra in response to that "kill you", sign? Seriously. I for one find Idra tame. As for major, he reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_S._ThompsonNot bowing to the status quo, living life his way, etc. Showmanship is really lost on you.... sigh... MC's throat slash is clearly a joke, and a pretty ridiculous and funny one at that. Flipping off someone is not making a show, it's just being a jackass. It's all about the attitude, and the context. You can tell from afar that what MC does, he does to please and motivate his fans, and he does an excellent job. Idra's gestures and attitudes are not related to the fans at all, he just wants to insult and look better than his opponents, which is sad. His constant childish attitudes really can't be compared to MC's, they're on a different mindset. While Maj0r just seems to be more of the socially inept type. Personally, I find maj0r a lot more tolerable, though his clan-hopping sucks. Idra leaves games prematurely and then proceeds to forfeit a whole series, damaging the tournament, and making it terrible for the show, that's just........................... well, it's hard to find the correct words..... Thats because u like MC and dont like idra. Its showmanship for MC and not for Idra, do you see your fallacy now? Ahm... I don't get all the fuss but a throath slash is really normal showmanship.. What Idra did isn't. I don't care and think people are to serious about stuff like that anway but.. get real.
Erm not quite sure what you are used to, but in most sports i've watched when one guy does provocating gestures (e.g. throat slash) one of the most common responses i've seen is to flip them off or show them the finger.
Frankly this entire discussion is tedious. Was MC insulted by it? Not very likely. Did EG have a problem with it? If so they dealt with it inhouse.
The amount of hate Idra gets simply for being him is absurd...

Wow, 80 pages for Terran quitting another team. Really?

Because people are having their own little pointless arguments about IdrA as is the norm in any TL thread

Honestly it just started being a repeating record at about page 10. Was fun for awhile.

Because people in the sc2 world need to discuss whether sixjax/terran were in the right in firing/leaving (from) team

Let's hope it peeters off and dies in a couple days

You should read the thread. Sixjax messed up, not him, in my opinion. Skew agrees as well.
vv Those guys should read it too. Good job with your prejudices.

How the fuck does he find new teams stupid enough to pick him up all the time?

good luck to major finding a new team....

Major's history is clear. GL to Sixjax in the future!

The same reason pro sports teams still sign guys with rap sheets and mental stability issues: Talent. Every coach and team manager thinks they can be "the one" to tame the talent.
That said, I've been poking around, and I don't even think Maj0r's reputation is deserved. Oh noes, he map hacked in BW years ago, and he called someone an "idiot" in a tournament. None of these things are as bad as things I've seen other pro players do. At worst he's guilty of young male immaturity, something I imagine 99% of this community is guilty of at some point.
Also, someone pointed this out about 70 pages back, but I think it bears repeating: People really overstate the business aspect of SC2. This is still a video game, and we are still a hobby community. Yes, I understand sponsors are involved (they were in BW too), but the amount of money changing hands just doesn't warrant the constant "this is a business!!!!!" you get every time this stuff comes up. No, it's a video game, with a very minor cottage industry cropping up around it. When millions of dollars start changing hands on a regular basis, we can start worrying about team managers having MBA's and the players giving canned answers in every interview because they don't want to upset Campbell's Soup.
Go take a look at the drama caused over standardizing jerseys . Peoples flipped out responses to that topic are basically proof in the pudding that this is still very much a hobby.

If that's the case then you haven't read much into Major's history.
And from what I can tell, your second point is "I believe that SC2 is still just a hobby, so Major can act however he wants". Did I understand that correctly?

I don't care how good you are. If you can't stand for the company in this case the teams Code of Conduct which this tool obviously has a long track record of not being able to. Then it doesn't matter you don't get to go to Korea. You won a qualifier big deal. Your seeded, now win a real tournament.
This guy belong in a FPS clan. They have tendencies to walk in take a dump on everything and then leave and move on to the next place.

What a load of bull, maphacking? (Once a cheater always a cheater) being nasty enough against dde to make him tell management about it? Unforgivable. I can't say I actually know any other proffesional players be half as bad as that. Whether people overstate or understate I feel is somewhat irrelevant, image is everything, with bad image how is a team supposed to get sponsors. Or are you going to say that Major could easily do like Grubby and make his own team?

He has no integrity. Why someone would think differently is amazing.
|
Btw. Shouldn't Major have enough money to travel to Korea? I mean he did win the bnet invitationals, right? And he said himself that he can stay with NsHoSeo. And if not, I am sure he can arrange something with gom.
edit: yes, he got 10 grands for winning that. easy money for him, I must say.
|
I don't even see how it has to do with integrity per se. Major's actions are bad for himself most of all. If Major handled himself well he would already be training in Korea.
|
he sounds like a little douche
