hopes to win: machine, the dude is way underrated and gets boned very often by bad luck. IdrA, needs a big win plus i always root for him QXC, he almost always has a disappointing showing in tournies. hopes to fail: destiny, so overrated it hurts my brain, i would love to see his mindless fanboys get dissapointed again. Koreans, dont steal our money yo

People I'd like to see do well:
Destiny - Don't like the BM but I love the play. I also thought people under rated Destiny but after this thread everyone seems to think only they can see his true potential.
qxc - After GSTL it would be really really nice to see an FXO player come out and show us that they are competing at the forefront.
Sheth - What a guy. Just what a guy.
People I'd like to see crash and burn:
Major - It seems like every 2 months we see Major do something really dumb. Sixjax tells us they've talked to him and he won't do anything like that again ever again. He's a kid who needs to learn some manners. After he showed so much disrespect to the entire SEA community and his behaviour was condoned by so many people on this forum (because they have no respect for SEA) I'd like to see him get what's coming to him.

I was talking to my Ex SC1 "Nation Team" Leader about the sixjax.Major thingy, he told me that Major called him once to play for our country.
about the sixjax.Major little issue

To do well
Huk ! - How can you not admire a guy with a korean work ethic like his. So much respect doing something very very few foreigners can do. And now it's starting to drop it fruits.
Naniwa ! - This guy only cares about being number 1, not money not being populair just wanting to be the best of all and win tournaments. Have you not seen his face when he becomes second ? i mean wow it's actualy hurting him haha. This is why i wish he do well, he has a winners heart. Do well at MLG and learn in Korea and your going to the top !
MVP ! - i can't forget his games vs MKP where he just took at time the best terran in the world apart and destroyed him. Somehow i hope this dashing smiling baller get's his form back and shows us some amazing games
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will say players i will not look for, but saying i am hoping to fail is to much. No pro gamer deserves that in my book. And anyway failing players would make a boring tournament of MLG
The ones i do not look for
Incontrol ! - Manner on live events and a total troll and rude person on steam/interview/forums.
Major ! - Always something with him either drama or bm, and not long ago trying to cheat a SEA event.
Machine ! - Don't get me wrong i like you, your manner fun and a nice guy. But you lack any results in fact and this is personal i have never seen you win anything in starcraft 2, also your mlg matches were not of a high level, so i believe your slot should go to some one better.

In short: To Win: Foreigners
To Fail: Koreans
About specific names... To Win: I hope QXC can show everyone what a baller he was before the latino women drained his powers. Sheth (if he attends, don't follow that much) should show what he learned in his short time in korea and that he is still the best foreigner Zerg (imho better than IdrA). WhiteRa should show that he can play a solid game as well as pull out some special tactics and still be the best foreign protoss. He can also show people like me that age doesn't matter.
To Fail: Can't think of any specific names.
I don't want a western tournament where the Koreans take almost all top10 spots. Sadly koreans are a lot stronger than foreigners atm.
|
Succeed: Idra. By far the most intelligent and impressive player I've seen. Fell in love with his play style in the beta and haven't looked back since. I feel like he's only continued to improve and I hope he wins.
Fail: Destiny I don't understand this Destiny obsession... his mechanics are no where near where they should be for this level of play and he has only one build that's proven to be effective. I just don't see Destiny putting up any kind of fight if that single unit[infestor] was removed from his play style.
|
Suceed
Demuslim - uk brethren, want himt o do well, in the open bracket though and only four can get through, depends on the draw..., Nani He plays to win and be nothing fitting then winning a MLG before moving to Korea!!! White-ra, just something about White-ra that I really want to do well, think it has to do is hes only just older then me and representing!!!! Living the dream still!!! HuK, our best chance by far at winning this tournament, playing so well atm...
Fail
Koreans (I really want a european or american to win, and prove we can defeat the koreans cant see it happening but I hope!!)
|
Win/do well :
Boxer - do I have to say more?
Huk - After his win at Dreamhack I was really impressed with the way he played. Really want to see him step it up at MLG Anaheim again.
IdrA - Besides his attitude I really want him to win another Event!
Fail
No one really. I dont really have any players to name here....
Let's see what happens!
|
To Win: Tgun! Love this guy, hope to see him go far. All the FXO guys, in fact.
especially Sheth! I've got $100 on Sheth to win an MLG this year.
And I also want to see Destiny do well. I think he's come so far as a player.
I don't want to use the term fail... But I do not want Koreans to roflstomp the foreigners this time. Foreigners fighting!
|
To win: Whitera- Pure entertainment. If he won the interviews could be just as entertaining if not more entertaining than the games. Megumixbear- with the whole slayers eve BS that went down i would love to see not only a female, but a female foreigner win. Voting for the underdog has been my thing forever and u don't get more under than being the only female(to my knowledge) competing at a huge tournament like MLG. Incontrol- Deserves some results. Being a bigger guy myself i'd love to see him win one for us bigger, buffer gamers.
3 to fail( i don't want anyone to fail really. I want everyone to put up a good fight and show good games) HDstarcraft Painuser I think these two also fall under that "underdog" category where i would be happy if they did well, but i do not want them to. With them both doing the IGN thing they cannot have much time to put into practicing. It's more i don't think they deserve it than me wanting them to flat out fail.
SixjaxMajor- The SEA thing of course coupled with him reminding me of all the trolls who piss me off online makes me wish for him to fall flat on his face as early as possible in this tournament.

That has nothing to do with the players!

I get called a bunch of names so I refer to those people as "shit community members' and someone is like "hey just cause someone isn't rooting for you doesn't mean they are shit!" NO KIDDING I wasn't speaking to everyone who isn't rooting for me.. I am speaking to the people that take it a step further and go personal with it.. wtf. Obviously I don't demand 100% support come on? lol this sounds like a rationalization written to make what you originally said look better, you didn't single anyone out who called you names, you just said "shit community members" who "wish people ill" and "want all EG members to lose," nothing about people calling you names. yeah prob me trying to cover up some huge conspiracy ! ! lol read what you want bro. People taking shit to far when rooting against someone or listing dumb reasons to not want someone to win.. this thread is full of venom when it doesn't need to. Not going to keep posting in here everytime someone wants to try and make it sound worse than it is. I can think of several valid reasons why people would "hate" you. Anyone recall the incident where you banned someone on TL revolving around you asking for a GSL restream? You only apologized after the ensuing shitstorm happened on TL. Another incident is when people were criticizing NASL, and you were just lashing out at all the critics on these forums while NASL was still in its infancy. Now I don't personally hate you or wish that you won't do well at MLG, but I'm just bringing up recent events that I remember that have made me less of a fan of you.

Why did you even post in this thread to begin with then? For someone who considers themselves to be an intelligent person, you sure do make some stupid decisions. Going into a thread that was obviously made to allow people to cheer/jeer their favorite/least favorite players and complaining about what they said about you is just asking for trouble. Then following up the complaints with calling people "shit community members" isn't really going to rake in much sympathy. If I remember correctly, you did the same thing with reddit and they also called you out for it. Oh and need I remind you that you also made loads of whiny posts after that as well. You basically just need to stop digging your hole deeper otherwise the walls of filth you dug up will eventually collapse in on you.

"Walls of filth"? Melodramatic much?
One of the cool things about Esports is how accessible the pros are to the community, but they dont seem to post in the forums that much anymore. Why do you think that is?

To win, with a bit of a bias:
Incontrol (actually most of EG, they are all great players who deserve a good win) Huk (Ditto my sentiments about EG on Liquid. They seem to have been in a slump lately, with the exception of Huk. It'd be great to see a major comeback at MLG.) Tyler (Stil my favorite protoss of all time. The thinking man's toss.)
To lose:
Nobody. Why would I actively wish failure on somebody?
|
I really hate that kind of thread, you can say the people you want to win but not those you want to see lose. It is just terribly bad mannered, you don't wish somebody to lose like that.

My guess would be because every time they post, they get in trouble for giving some unsavory responses. And as for the filth, well I believe the post above me points a few of the sections of the wall that have already crumbled around Incontrol as of late. What else would you use to describe the actions of an individual that build up to the breaking point, at which time some, if not all of the problems, begin to collapse in on them?
Oh and as for none of the pros posting? How about Liquid'Tyler? He posts regularly and provides actual insight unlike a certain EG protoss player that has already posted here. Lets also bring in TLO who recently made a nice blog about the situation with PUMA and EG. Huk posts relatively often. Jinro of course hangs on TL quite a bit, but this well known that the players of TL enjoy posting/browsing TL.
Lets look at some other players outside of TL who post often. Sheth for one makes some very informative posts that help out the community quite a bit. Pokebunny does his best not to complain about not being 18 yet, but sometimes it slips out. There are a multitude of others, but I do not read everything on TL so I can not recall more specifics off the top of my head.
The point is, I haven't seen any of these posters get attacked on TL. Do you know why? It is because they haven't done anything to wrong the community or the people of it.

QFT--My gf follows a few sports and read this thread (she was surprised i was the original creator before columbus) and she couldn't believe how sensitive some players and even some fans were about people not wanting them to win. In EVERY pro sport that I can think of you are rooting for someone to suck for some reason, whether good or not.
girlfriend follows the SF Giants...she roots for the Dodgers to loose Brother follows SF 49ers, he likes when the cowboys get their asses kicked. I like Nadal in tennis, i like when federer loses
I dont understand this expectation that our sport should be a gentlemans where everyone is rooting for everyone to win and if you dont win you get a nothing. Blizzard may be trying to make it go that way for the ladder but you can't have competition without losers.
as for my picks Win- no one in particular, i just want to see some cool zerg plays (assuming I even get to watch any since i work all weekend
Lose- Major--After columbus my opinion of him changed and I was pretty neutral to him as he proved his skill on a big stage. Then the SEA thing happened and i want someone to slap him around for being so stupid.

TO WIN:
1) Slush: He's from Montreal like me and he's one of the best Canadian progamers, always does well would like to see him get a win. 2) BoxerR: No explanation needed here, BoxeR is one of my favorite players it's a pleasure to watch him play. 3) Don Rae Gu (spelling): Unbelievable player, I'm not posting this because I want him to win, more because I think he will win.
TO LOSE:
1) Spanishiwa: Everyone makes a big deal over him I don't understand why has he ever won something big? He'll be eliminated in the first round. 2) Huk, I don't actually want him to lose, but I'm mad that he beat MKP in the GTSL and I'm an MKP fanboy. 3) Idra, and every other member of EG for contacting a player instead of an organization to make an agreement. Unprofessional and sickening. I also find Idra pathetic for his reputation of outburst and excuses so I especially want to see him gone.
EDIT: May someone please explain to me what MajOr did? I've seen many comments but I haven't heard what he did. A bad case of BM I'm assuming?
