I'm sure TSL feels very disrespected" 33 minutes ago Helping to merge the Korean and foreigner communities, my ass dude. This set it WAYYYYY back.
why do people on TL care what Korean netizens think? do you not realize its like going to 4chan and basing your opinions on what the trolls say there?

Too late. Koreans will generalize us just as much as we generalize them.

Well that's all fine and dandy, can we get some facts then? How about a statement from team EG?

They have 1 player who can compete.

He's their only player that actually posts good results every tournament. When was the last time Lz or Strifecro even finished top 20 in a major tournament?

The statement about how something needs to be done to prevent koreans from being stolen is so wrong. It's not like EG just kidnapped Puma at gunpoint and forced him to play while he begged to be back on TSL. Competition of teams is a good thing for esports. The more competition there is the higher players will get payed just like Puma who is obviously now getting paid much more or he wouldn't have left.
These kind of things will make esports a more lucrative business with higher salaries. Now one could say EG did a shady bad thing but Puma went along with it and unless there is a breach of contract it's perfectly legal. Team salary competition will bring more money into esports because people will realize that if you want Puma or whoever you are going to have to pay big bucks.

Sucks for TSL I guess, but nice pickup for EG. Good going.

I cant see Puma getting anything from this tbh. He will probably fade away now since he wont have a house of good players to practice in.
Also, I feel so bad for Coach Lee, all his good players just leave him even though he´s such a nice guy and such a boss...

I think that's freedom of labor working =o
Where was that ever confirmed? Do you have the TSL contract that states he can leave by mere request?

I'm really happy for EG. They finally got a good player at last! I'll be looking forward to seeing who they manage to recruit next. Good luck EG!

Holy crap 1k posts already? Is this the fastest growing thread on TL of all time?

It appears there's something wonky inside TSL, and the players aren't happy because of it.
This what I've been thinking the entire time. I think there's more to this story than simply a foreign team poaching an ace from a Korean team. People can have their biased opinions for the moment, but no one in this thread should be taking anything as fact until we hear a legit statement from EG, Puma and TSL. There is way too much theorizing about what's going on here, that people are now accepting anything as fact.
But I guess this is the epitome of the current state of TL.... :/

Yo guys I heard western teams are offering players more money. Players are moving to teams that offer them said more money. This has got to stop. More money is killing Esports. We need to go back to playing for peanuts in the west while all the money and talent stays in korea.

major tournament no, but by that logic no team would be doing well. You can't expect a team to win tournaments constantly

WHAT!! F5 I don't believe this... TSL falling apart... EG congrats guys, you just got a hell of a practice partner, wow... incredible...

How exactly are you thinking Puma is going to continue to grow at a rate that can keep up with other Koreans? Not a single person on EG is capable of providing Puma the type of practice he used to get where he is, and no longer being a part of a team house is going to destroy his practice habits. EG is either going to be recruiting other Koreans to form a practice house of their own, or they have no idea how the SC2 scene works right now. This is what I'm wondering about too, actually. But no one seems to be responding to that concern... I feel the exact same way, feels like there is a really high chance that PuMa's talent will just wither away. He might've really made a hasty decision, probably didn't do much of a background check on the EG roster (probably only had ever heard of Idra prior to joining) and assumed that EG is one of the leading foreign teams where he would have equals as training partners. Probably assumes everyone is on par with IdrA and him, but yeah I can see where this could end up for Puma ...
|
Too bad for Puma, I can't imagine his game is going to improve at all. Hopefully he stays in Korea and at least benefits from the Korean ladder than move over and have to play against Combat-ex and have practice partners like Axslav, LzGamer and Incontrol and Strifecro.
