Well that's all fine and dandy, can we get some facts then? How about a statement from team EG?

What, you expect a statement the exact second that TSL's coach blows it up? Give them time and surely EG will give one, they haven't dodged anything controversial in the past.

if i was a korean team right now i would be very careful about sending players abroad to take part in foreigner events if they know this sort of thing can happen. in fact, i perhaps wouldnt at all.

He's their only player that actually posts good results every tournament. When was the last time Lz or Strifecro even finished top 20 in a ANY tournament?

Fruitdealer / Tester are just lazy and don't want to follow practice schedules, rain got into code s by all -ining, and practically doesn't make it past the first round of code s (going to foreign scene for ez mode, but in his interview it seemed like he was already on planning on moving to the U.S), Puma left because he is a sell out

Wow, teamliquid has it all. People who can foretell the future, people who must actually live in the TSL house for how much they pretend to know, the "doomsday" criers.

What's up with all the drama getting stirred up without the full story even being out.

I for one would be pleased if Puma is on EG. It'll be nice having a player besides IdrA on the team to wreck people.

the only thing that matters here is the fact that players should get the best possible salary for their skill level. if someone offers you more than what youre getting, and you dont feel attached to your team. you should take it. no other reason should be talked about. the team needs to keep their players via topping the offer. if they cant, then say goodbye to the player.

This is a really stupid attitude that covers only the short term, if a player such as Puma does this and the Koreans react by all refusing to practice with him he's got a good salary but will get most likely left behind in the long run. People shouldn't be so eager to potentially burn bridges just for a short term money fix.

What long run? The average progamer career lasts maybe 5 years, and if he's spending 2 of those slaving in a team house for room and board, with zero guarantees of becoming a bonjwa who really rakes in the money.

With EG, he gets a salary and travel expenses all across the world, and he'll be sure to do really well at a lot of foreign tournaments. It's guaranteed income instead of some long shot chance.

EG is doing bad. An EG player hasn't won a major tournament since MLG DC, and calling that major is a stretch.

EG are the badguy team that make the American SC2 scene so good.
Just look at them in their dark shirts, their anger, hate and bm so well known.
All they need to complete this is a leaked photo of scoots in some dark robes feasting on a newborn whilst screaming for his minions to bring him the head of TLO.

Then we have TL. They're like the 'good' human guys in the story.
Much power, but under an oppressive ruler who silences anyone who dares mention the rise of the dark team. They will continue to play as normal, acting as if all is well in world of esports until it is too late.
Not until Incontrol destroys Huk on their hometurf will they realise that war is upon them.

I don't really follow the team drama's enough to work out the rest. But somehow mousesports, sixjax and all the others will have to band together, making an alliance with the Korean teams to slay EG.
All with CombatEx following behind mumbling to himself.

yes, this sums up sc2 scene pretty much :-)
well done

he missed the part where FXO just walks in and buys everyone.

FXO hasn't bought anyone. fOu was the one to come up with the merger.

Yes, but I played on the fact that FXO has an massive amount of funds.

This statement actually worries me about Korea's attitude towards their players.

For the growth of SC2, it's great that teams are fighting over players. I guarantee once the average top-end players start making enough salary to live comfortably (not luxurious, just comfortably) inside the US, the game will hit mainstream.

Another key is to have one SC2 player "hit the big-time" (like a SlayerS_BoxeR) through showing exceptional characteristics and exciting play. I really believe that player for SC2 is TLO, he just needs to win a few high-end tournaments. That way someone could say to an 'outsider', "Ever heard of TLO?, he plays SC2." Someone everyone, from never hearing about SC2 to hardcore fans, can relate to.

Such a stupid response from scoots.. Really? We are only going off what we have, what more facts can we check? lmfao.. how about you give us some instead of sitting on your high-horse and thinking of anyway you can justify this horrible display of ethics and lack of respect..

No response at all would be much more professional than this trash..

To people defending EG/Puma here:

How exactly are you thinking Puma is going to continue to grow at a rate that can keep up with other Koreans? Not a single person on EG is capable of providing Puma the type of practice he used to get where he is, and no longer being a part of a team house is going to destroy his practice habits. EG is either going to be recruiting other Koreans to form a practice house of their own, or they have no idea how the SC2 scene works right now.

This is what I'm wondering about too, actually. But no one seems to be responding to that concern...

I feel the exact same way, feels like there is a really high chance that PuMa's talent will just wither away. He might've really made a hasty decision, probably didn't do much of a background check on the EG roster (probably only had ever heard of Idra prior to joining) and assumed that EG is one of the leading foreign teams where he would have equals as training partners.

Probably assumes everyone is on par with IdrA and him, but yeah I can see where this could end up for Puma ...

Do both of you take Puma for an idiot? Your posts aren't little condescending...
