It is highly recommended that your read this entire thread - at least until page 10. If you make uninformed opinions that have been answered by the thread, col management or Destiny, you will be banned.

I'm sure Destiny will recover from this, his mannerisms are one of the main reasons I even watch his stream.

In fact, this thread has like 35+ pages, so he's definitely gotten some more publicity from this. Destiny'll be fine, as long as he's happy with his decision.

I will be the first to say that Steve can be a little OTT. His views are a little far out their sometimes and that together with his ability to talk and discuss well (with mixed intelligance and reasoning) can create quite a stir on streams and within the community.

BUT....
All that being said he is still a great source of entertainment and has been able to clearly carve a small niche for himself via the streams. He is not the best player in the world (obvious) but he makes a fair bit of short change on what he does.

And why do something you dont enjoy? if he doesnt want to be part of a team thats fair enough , and maybe in a year or two he will be more willing to join a team together with being a much better player for 'waiting it out'

Steves' not bothered (i presume), the teams' not bothered, I am not bothered , so why are you?
As with alot of TL posters - it seems a bit immature to effectively be trying to create a big fuss over nothing.

Destiny seems like a player that get more attention than deserved.

What is his accomplishments as a player?

Is it because the way he talks on his stream that gets him all this attention?

Seems like it is the best for all parties involved. I genuinely doubt we'll see Destiny on another pro team soon as his stream contents can very well 'scare away' pro teams (or rather said: their sponsors) and at the other end I don't think Destiny really needs a team as most of his income seems to come from his stream and coaching, neither of which require a team.

As an African American SC2 player I started as a Destiny fan. Almost a month after watching his stream I completely lost respect for his stream due to his racist rants and remarks. I have pretty thick skin when it comes to racist language but after about a month I realized a SC2 stream is not the place to voice such strong opinions when most people are tuning in to enjoy a player's game play. I still believe Destiny is a sincere person I just personally rather not view his stream. When it comes to CoL they have to make decisions that benefit them as an organization. Having as many sponsors and fans as they posses it's only responsible to terminate a contract with a player regardless of who he or she is if they sign under false pretenses and do not want to abide by an image that company tries to follow.

Best of luck Destiny you'll find another opportunity with a team that better fits your personality and liking. If not just pull a Grubby and make your own team! =D

Actually he had a pretty high popularity on his stream before the whole language thing came around.

Sadly, now that the "language topic" has come about, it would seem that's all people think Destiny is known for.

I like Complexity. They hire Silver after he has ONE good run in an open tournament and after he gets some recognition due to IdrA BMing him, then Silver proves himself that he wasn't one of the greatest and one game doesn't say shit all. Complexity disappears.

Now they merge with ROOT, which would be great considering ROOT has always had some great talent, but it isn't a full merge. The two players that essentially make up ROOT's success decide not to join. Shortly thereafter the player in ROOT who got more publicity than anyone else (Kiwi winning tournaments an exception) parts.

I can definitely see great things coming from Complexity in SC2,. Eh, I guess I'm glad I get to see Catz more at least.

Good luck to Destiny, personally i couldn't care less about CoL tbh.

The boring thing with "professionalism" is that it bends and eventually breaks down characters. Like in "real" sports, not one guy says anything worth a shit, all that comes from their mouths are clichés which, for me atleast, takes away alot from the fun.

Honestly... who didn't see this coming ?

Everyone that puts Destiny on a pedestal is so blind. He constantly makes racist jokes and makes fun of black people on top of all of his other completely ignorant rants he habitually goes on.

I challenge any of his fans to take a look at him and objectively evaluate his character. He is an uneducated college dropout with an illegitimate child; moreover, he is a MUSIC MAJOR dropout. That makes him the equivalent of the demographic that he constantly berates (at the most) and uses racial epithets towards... assuming that you want to apply stereotypes like Destiny does.

The only reason that anyone would be a fan of this ignorant hate monger is because they appreciate him for voicing their own closeted bigotry.

Any team that would sign this embarrassment to the community is a disgrace. Good job on Complexity's part for putting a footprint on his ignorant hind quarters.

Maybe this will have a positive affect on him and he will start actually raising his child.

Personally, I find it hilarious that some people view him as a martyr for his own personal beliefs... no matter how misguided and unenlightened they may be. Any rational human being would discern his behavior as stubborn and immature.

He openly admits to signing a contract under false pretenses and yet, somehow, people still support him. I wish I was alive centuries ago where a person's word and signature actually meant something.

You mean the same time where you would have to say this to his face, and not hide behind the anonymity of an internet forum. I wish i was alive whenever people stop making baseless assumptions about someone's character and their beliefs off of petty details such as word choice.

I would gladly announce my assessment of his lack of character in public. Oh wait, I think that is what I just did ?

Good job on posting another meaningful, intelligent post to the team liquid community, though. You do not look like a mindless fan boy at all.

What a pitiful attempt at derailment.

We should chat on stream sometime, bro, you sound like an intelligent figure.

I'm trying super super hard not to respond to some people in this thread, but posters like the aforementioned really make me wish it'd get locked so I don't get perm-banned from these forums.

Clearly he has the moral high ground on you since you have a child out of wedlock! Who have heard of such things! Just you wait until you get back to the village, there will be some serious whispers and finger pointing going on.

Spending an entire paragraph shitting on someone's character like this is ridiculous. What was even the point of posting this?

Good decisions by both parties. Destiny is more of an 'entertainer' rather than a player.

That being said, his racist remarks are completely unacceptable. He should be more professional and mature than that.

Sadly, I stopped watching his stream as his rants and remarks increased.

I just want to point out the irony in a South Park fan making this remark.

I honestly think the idea, epxressed in the original coL post and many times again in this thread, that is that, in short "if you want to be a professional in whatever, you rather not say anything stupid when someone can hear you" is blatantly stupid. It's the same kind of stupidity that is excercised daily in the so-called "western democracies", when politicians are being jugded for their romantic affairs, or in the daytoday lives, as prospective employees being rejected because of drunk pictures on facebook etc., etc. and etc.

My humble opinion is that it would be much better for the community if we stayed out of this and the players were judged based on their play, not what they say on their own streams.

PS: I am not trying to judge on the situation as a whole, as it is obviously much deeper than that, I am just concerned that the "destiny speaks crap on his channel" aspect is given too much exposure for my taste.

I have watched competitive sc2 for about a year now, and one the greatest one think to me sc2 falls short in is the way the teams and players promote themselves. Most players got no identitys, a lot of them no charisma at all on camera etc.

Idra got it, MC got it. But apperently you need to be at the very top to be allowed to BM people, do slit-throat signs etc. Otherwise you are bad for the image and have to go, what amazes me is what cruncher is doing in col's lineup if destiny is too much? I mean does anyone like that due... at all? If they would truly care about their image they should get rid of him, and not someone that has tons of fans and stands for what he says, even has debates about it.

But sure, if complexity wants 10 blank canvases playing for them (and catz) which no one really cares about, GLHF

I have to say that this is probably the best thing that ever happened to him.
coL was not a great place for him because either he would manner up and lose viewrs or just be incredibly unhappy.

BUT watching some of his vids on youtube,(the ones where he is talking to debo and catz) it seems as if he is starting to think about his actions and think about if he should continue to use his language or tone it down a bit. Not saying he should but at least he is thinking about it more and more.

I hope that he continues to be himself and joins a team that will allow him to be himself on the stream but also that he would be more professional at events where he is representing the team (although I don't recall him being very BM at MLG and such). All in all I don't think that coL was a good fit for him, hope he gets with another group of players so he can continue to grow as a player and hopefully one day be able to compete at the highest level while still entertaining us on stream
If you think its underpowered then you're doing it wrong

The rest of your rant is rather common and even debatable but that line was the lowest form of comment I've seen on this forum. Bad taste, personal attack, misinformed....and as another guy said, you don't mention children, you just don't - if you don't see why you got a serious issue.
