Good riddance Destiny. I hope you don't make any other team. Thats an awfully nice post you have there. Destiny has done more for ESPORTS than you ever would. He has 1000s of people watching his stream whenever its on and its on most of the time. I personally am not a fan of his stream but he has definitely been a great influence on the observing of the game. Destiny and Complexity broke up on a misunderstanding about the contract. Destiny never wanted to put that level of involvement into a team but if anyone who is bashing him for his lack of involvement of ESPORTS I challenge them to put 1/4 of the involvement to the scene that he does already. I am not saying that Destiny hasn't been 'involved' in esports. Sure, he has streamed a lot. I am saying that people like him (with constant exclamations of 'fag' and jokes about rape) are not what esports needs if it is going to grow. We all know the 'gaming dudes' who call each other 'faggots' all the time because they are immature children. We don't need those immature children representing professional gaming.
That sucks, because I've seen CatZ, iNc, minigun, Idra, etc. use the same type of language. I guess we should just turn it into kespa pt2 where no player can have any sort of personality without getting in trouble. Players like destiny are EXACTLY what E-sports needs to grow, there is a reason that Idra and Destiny have larger fan bases than just about every other player - hint, it's because they actually have a personality. People like you are the ones that kill e-sports to be completely honest.

The only reason this is a problem is because he is well known, and how highly publicized his language became these past few months. I'm sure plenty of other progamers spew racist, sexist, or homophobic insults, but it's not widely discussed enough for people to care. I suppose Idra is an exception simply because of his playing caliber.
Fortunately, Destiny has relatively improved, meaning that he is slowly performing better compared to the progress of his peers. I hope he takes this chance to seriously engage in practice, rather than Sotis all day :b
Good luck. Idra can be a pretty bad mannared bastard, but never does his bm even graze racist, sexist or homophobic insults. As much as I am an Idra hater, got to stick to the facts. I think idra can be worst than destiny at times. But might be less swear words but the same meanings come out if not worse.

Fully expected this from Destiny. He was very adamant about being signed up for the FXO or some other tourney as ROOTDestiny. I definitely felt like he was holding back on the merger. I think I might understand his reasoning on the hesitation and fully support them if my conclusions are similar to his.

Good riddance Destiny. I hope you don't make any other team. I don't know Destiny personally but tonight I will watch his stream again. I'll eat bad cheese pizza while watching his roaches going pew-pew and Debo going n****n****n**** and point my greasy fingers at the little colors on the screen while shouting "racists united!" and curse them all to the Mac OS XX generation. Then I'll feel morally superior and will go to youporn, the gay section and send them a 6 pages essay on why their search engine is inherently politically incorrect. I'll stay there for a while till morning comes (one gotta keep busy!) then will head on to church. My favorite part is where you try to say 'I watch gay porn' as an insult. Thanks for perpetuating the Destiny marginalization of homosexuality.
My favorite part is while I was saying the exact opposite of what you read and typing about the idiocy of quick judgments of people (or website) based on the sole use of one word or another on a random stream (or website), well, you didn't fail to deliver and preferred to quickly judge my intentions (based on a semi-fabricated quote - but who cares at that point ?) and put me on the homophobic train instead of actually trying to understand/discuss my critic of your point of view. There's no talking here.
Me and my marginalized gay friends (which I of course hate but was too dumb to understand it before you came) send you a big thank you!

I never understand how calling people fags means you have a personality. Destiny is a caricature. Seems like he tried to cause drama by pretending not to know this went down. Good for him. He's smart though because he's just not very good. But yeah, DOWN WITH TEH MAN!
|
personally respect Destiny for sticking to his beliefs. not only that, but being able to clearly explain his arguments. felt that already from his arguments on Weapon of Choice regarding the caster/streamer language issue. too bad the deal didn't work out, but agree it was weird that he was streaming as just "Destiny"
OT: everything will move on, gl to him, hope he joins a team that he's comfortable with.

I'm sure I speak for at least some people when I say this - this is the first time I have even heard of a player named ROOT.Destiny - so I'm not really to concerned about whether he is or is not acquired by coL.
|
I don't know why a team would lilke to pick Destiny. His playstyle is okay but not a pro level. I think it was his big chance
|
I respect this decision by complexity, they do have professional standards and sponsors to represent.
It does seem unfair that Destiny didn't get more time to sign the contract though. He's a free person again now, and can speak his mind and stream the way he wants to. Seems like all's well ends well.
|
Steven's stream is always fun to watch. Especially when he makes fun of Catz. I honestly don't think this will cause and hindrance to Destiny or to coL. It doesn't seem like Destiny plays competitively anyway, since he just streams and does lessons and must make pretty decent dough doing so.
|
The only reason anyone knows Destiny is because of his personality. If there were going to be any restrictions on that then he'd be losing what makes him interesting to some people because it's obviously not his play. Shame he signed the contract in the first place and I can't say I'm a fan of drama or personality being more important than the actual game with professional SC2 being a soap opera for guys (and a couple girls, of course) but he seems to have made the right decision for himself and his fans.
gl hf to Destiny and Complexity; seems to be a good split for both parties.
|
Respect for destiny for staying himself. I do enjoy his stream from time to time. However think its hard for him to find a team who has the potential of col. He has some talent, but nowhere near good enough for a good team unfortunately.

Sorry for a short post, but these "facts" are just false.

For anyone other than catz and drewbie. Really up to point where root was aquired by complecity i had no idea who they were. I didnt even know cruncher or seen much of him up to that point and he sounds like he was their top guy. Not saying complexity is any bad but up to this point i dont think they had much exposure. I think the team might be right for catz and drewbie giving them support and time to practice. Even for minigun i think might gain from complexity pushing him to go to tournements (if they do that). I agree destiny still has some things to work out but i personally think he is getting really good. Especially with infestors. But thats my personal opinion which probably dont mean much to any one but me. I guess only time will tell what the destiny of destiny beholds lol.

Neither lost much. Destiny is awesome, and i will still want to follow him what ever he does. And well, i have zero interest in complexity.
Destiny is so popular, that i have no doubt that he we will find a pro team, if he wants one.

I think people need to chillax (least from reading the first ten and some of the last pages).
A company will always maintain professionalism as it requires it to survive, so they make sure the players are on board by having them sign a contract saying they will and if they don't they will have to leave the team.
Destiny did this to help his old clan mates in their career, but realized he didn't want to be a part of it because he likes to be more casual and not be censored so he left what is wrong with that?
There is nothing wrong with anything that went on, he signed the contract for his friends and he didn't abide by the contract so he had to leave seems straight forward to me.

Open your minds people. We are similar people not exact clones of each other. Not one person believes in the same ideas as you do. Not one person thinks the same way as you do. If you don't like someone's personality, go away. No one is forcing you to like his personality. Destiny will get through...he's already too high up to go back down.

Everyone that puts Destiny on a pedestal is so blind. He constantly makes racist jokes and makes fun of black people on top of all of his other completely ignorant rants he habitually goes on.
I challenge any of his fans to take a look at him and objectively evaluate his character. He is an uneducated college dropout with an illegitimate child; moreover, he is a MUSIC MAJOR dropout. That makes him the equivalent of the demographic that he constantly berates (at the most) and uses racial epithets towards... assuming that you want to apply stereotypes like Destiny does.
The only reason that anyone would be a fan of this ignorant hate monger is because they appreciate him for voicing their own closeted bigotry.
Any team that would sign this embarrassment to the community is a disgrace. Good job on Complexity's part for putting a footprint on his ignorant hind quarters.
Maybe this will have a positive affect on him and he will start actually raising his child.
Personally, I find it hilarious that some people view him as a martyr for his own personal beliefs... no matter how misguided and unenlightened they may be. Any rational human being would discern his behavior as stubborn and immature.
He openly admits to signing a contract under false pretenses and yet, somehow, people still support him. I wish I was alive centuries ago where a person's word and signature actually meant something. You mean the same time where you would have to say this to his face, and not hide behind the anonymity of an internet forum. I wish i was alive whenever people stop making baseless assumptions about someone's character and their beliefs off of petty details such as word choice. I would gladly announce my assessment of his lack of character in public. Oh wait, I think that is what I just did ? Good job on posting another meaningful, intelligent post to the team liquid community, though. You do not look like a mindless fan boy at all. What a pitiful attempt at derailment. We should chat on stream sometime, bro, you sound like an intelligent figure.
I'm trying super super hard not to respond to some people in this thread, but posters like the aforementioned really make me wish it'd get locked so I don't get perm-banned from these forums.
