Yeah, well they want maps that arn't to small, but not to big. They need third bases that can be defended, but not to easy because then protoss and terran will do that. Also, huge wide open spaces where mutas can fly, but are still easily scoutable so they don't get dropped.

And we should never be able to seige the main from low ground. But it would be nice if the ramp was really wide so its hard to wall in.

That isn't the main, but the natural. It isn't like you can really stop it since he has access from outside.

meh. havent playd much since early days of season 2 and doesnt look like these maps spark my interest either...

guess ill just keep watching some sc2 from time to time and wait till hots comes out and hopefully makes the game more interesting again.

I don't know if it will be an isssue yet. The one on Xel Naga is a problem because it is directly in the path the terran will take to the natural. This one looks like it is tucked in the side on the natural, so I assume it will be easier to stop the bunker non-sense.

I could be wrong, though. We will have to see.

Those pics of the new maps are hilarious. Thank god I stopped laddering. That sweet spot for the bunker is almost an intentional FU to zerg players.

the real problem with the spot on this test map is it's impossible to get a proper surround in order to stop the bunker. With 1 or 2 marines behind the bunker on the other side of the small choke, the zerg is instantly in huge trouble.

If steppes was about the size of xelnaga caverns or slighty bigger, it'd be a kick ass map, it was one of the best looking maps blizzard's done in terms of just the overall feel of a map, but then a terran made a tank in his natural and hits your main mineral line and you cried.

A lot of these s1 maps had some potential. At least you could secure a 3rd on steppes without doing all sorts of unreasonable acrobatics that were likely to lose you the game. Delta would be really good map if it was 2 player only with current cross spawns and no rocks in the back. Steppes would be good too if it was just bigger, like you said.

Somebody really needs to tell blizzard that nobody likes rocks. Are they even aware at all? What the hell is the fun in rocks? The only reason I see rocks being useful is to make gold bases more fair....but even gold bases in my eyes are a flawed idea.
