I agree that acceleration can over complicate your mousing motion. I don't use it, but others seem to find great success with it. The disadvantage is obviously a drop in accuracy. However, acceleration lets you move from point to point more efficiently and with less effort.That advantage can be a significant factor in a fast game. | ||

It shouldn't matter if you're using a image or ingame, that being said there's no real reason not to practice in game, unless you're at work or can't. Also 500k discdash is pretty impressive, I'd almost like to see a vod to see how fast/accurate you're cursor is. | ||

The reason I practice with the image is so that I can improve precision at my own pace. In a REAL game, I'm focusing on a lot more than just precision. This gives me a chance to tend to those needs without any distraction. | ||

Zerg players, for example, don't have anything obvious to micro and can't practice it in game. However, with mouse precision, they can do micro on the fly. So today I was bored an went through flash games when I stumbled on one I played a lot in high school. You defend your castle from attackers by dragging the people up a certain height and then drop them. After a few rounds I was like, OH, this must be why! It's all about precision. If you know that you're going to click on something when you move your mouse (as opposed to tracing the mouse and making sure the mouse is above the target before you click), you can click on like 5 targets in a second. | ||
