So if you really want to improve at sc2 you should probably focus on other things.

I suspect that memorizing hand distances in windows wouldn't be very helpful unless you have the same distances in Starcraft. 6/11 in Windows and 51% in SC2 is 1:1 without pixel skipping. More HERE, author recommends 8/11 and 72% for 400 dpi.

The game is a custom scenario on Warcraft III called Sheep Tag. I was the main map developer for 5 years, played and placed well in world-wide tournaments, and still, today, help manage the community. I am world class at picking my nose... o wait :D

I agree that acceleration can over complicate your mousing motion. I don't use it, but others seem to find great success with it. The disadvantage is obviously a drop in accuracy. However, acceleration lets you move from point to point more efficiently and with less effort. That advantage can be a significant factor in a fast game.

While your reflexes might be getting a work out, you need to actually practice within SC2 to really improve your SC2 mousing skills. Do something similar to what you were trying to accomplish with that png you made. Move as smoothly as possible from unit to unit, increasing your speed and difficulty of task gradually over time. Eventually you will get better with active practice and dedication. I agree that acceleration can over complicate your mousing motion. I don't use it, but others seem to find great success with it. If you have 1:1 accuracy in windows:sc2 it really should carry over. It shouldn't matter if you're using a image or ingame, that being said there's no real reason not to practice in game, unless you're at work or can't. Also 500k discdash is pretty impressive, I'd almost like to see a vod to see how fast/accurate you're cursor is.

The reason I practice with the image is so that I can improve precision at my own pace. In a REAL game, I'm focusing on a lot more than just precision. This gives me a chance to tend to those needs without any distraction.

Zerg players, for example, don't have anything obvious to micro and can't practice it in game. However, with mouse precision, they can do micro on the fly. The first four zerglings have only a ten second micro window, but forcing the opponent to make addition lings is a pretty big deal. IdrA is one of the best zergs imo becuase his mouse movement are so smooth from his BW days.

So today I was bored an went through flash games when I stumbled on one I played a lot in high school. You defend your castle from attackers by dragging the people up a certain height and then drop them. After a few rounds I was like, OH, this must be why! I guess you had to be there for it to be funny ![]() http://www.xgenstudios.com/play/castle/

It's all about precision. If you know that you're going to click on something when you move your mouse (as opposed to tracing the mouse and making sure the mouse is above the target before you click), you can click on like 5 targets in a second.
