What are you saying? You said it twice and it still makes no sense to me. Drewbie beat Slush at both this and 2010 Dallas MLG, they weren't the finals though, I don't think he's implying that he was the Dallas champion when he clearly wasn't

Also, to Drewbie: I think results also speak for themselves. You said it yourself, Kiwi does zero streaming, and no forum posting or videos. Yet look at his following, and the fact that he can draw people to watch his games, because he is SKILLED. Look at Korean players like MC, MarineKing, MVP. People like watching them and they have a huge draw to live tournaments (in the case of MC) because his skill is amazing, not because he makes videos, or casts games or streams live. You talk about the tangibles of streaming etc., but ignore the fact that winning has intangible value in that it draws spectators to watch them. Being a top contender is also valuable. Do you notice how when coL acquired ROOT and Kiwi and Slush didn't go, that drew the most attention and most concern? I can tell you at a good 50% of the people are more concerned with where Kiwi and Slush end up rather than whatever happens to the other people who joined coL from ROOT. Despite them not doing any of the "additionals" so to speak, they still draw a fanbase because the WIN tournaments. Being a creative but perennial loser only has draw for so long. Now that you guys are part of a bigger team, CatZ has zero excuses now for playing poorly. I wont speak for catz or drewbie, but i am pretty sure thats why they decided to go to complexity. They needed more time to practice to get better. As for the part you asked to drewbie. Most of the Koreans also have sponsors. Pretty sure if any company gives you money for sponsors they want you to repersent their brand, and by doing so you have to give blogs, stream, talk in there forums and do stuff to use your name to get there brand out. Pretty sure that goes with out saying. You dont just go i am a top player give me money and they get nothing out of it.

anyways i support the decisions of all of the former team ROOT. KiwiKaki chose to not make something he enjoyed as a game a real job with a ton restrictions. that's a good life choice. i will support him as a player regardless of what team he's on. everyone who moved to compLexity also made a good choice in choosing a more reasonable career option. ROOT wasn't going to sustain all of the players lively hoods very well if any. and CompLexity can sustain you and promote you all to be come better players. all of you deserve the credit you're due everyone who was in ROOT is an incredible player and getting picked up by a larger team will help you become even better players. I'm sad to see the ROOT name fall because it was the first E sports team that i was really biased to. if i ever saw a tournament i would ROOT for ROOT(sorry, i just had to use that pun) because i loved what the team stood for and all of the players. but my opinions of the players have not been altered by this choice i will still ROOT for the lot of you at all your future endeavors. TL;DR congratz guys you made the right choices in my book.

Nevertheless, congrats to the rest of the ROOT guys. You did a great job of trying to grow your own brand, and it's sure as hell difficult.

I am aware that in the past ROOT did some sort of collaborations with the iCCup Mapmaking Team. I'm not too savvy on the details, but I believe that at least prodiG and iCCup.Diamond were at some point in contact with some members of ROOT probably receiving feedback on their maps. Well, that's just it really. I just wanted to know if that's still going to happen (I have no idea when or if it even stopped). I guess what I'm saying is that out of all the english-speaking progamers, ROOT has shown the most interest in communicating with the mapmaking community. I'm just wondering if that interest is still there. BTW I signed up on root-gaming.com many months ago because I was watching that mapmaking stuff ![]() Thanks! ![]() I don't see why the players (if they were truly interested in maps) would all of a sudden turn the map makers away just because they are on a new team... what am I missing here that is concerning you?
