what has sexual orientation to do with playing a game? if you mean "who the hell would play this shitty" (or something like that) - well than it's just insulting to all homo sexuals.
The word 'gay' has been mangled by society, it used to mean happy, but then it was used as the term you're using it as: a homosexual.
It's now the society norm that the word 'gay' means something entirely different then the aforementioned. It usually just means 'stupid' or 'annoying'
So before you say that it's based on homosexuals, look at the context of the sentence(or in this case line) before you start a post with irritation.
before insulting all homosexuals you probably should just shut your mouth. Gay stands for homosexuals all over the world. No news for anyone I guess, but unfortunately political correctness has never been a topic in gaming/e-sports. And people like you are the cause so many homosexuals are getting insulted day in day out.
I liked it. Props for taking the time and doing this =)
The use of calling something 'gay' is very widespread in the language currently. Is it offensive? Probably. However I actually know gay people who use that expression - it's that common. The song could do without it, but I don't think the OP should get too hard time about it. Having said that, here's some constructive criticism that I feel might make future songs even better:
I would like the vocals a bit less loud compared with the music.
I'd prefer if you sang "funday monday" insteady of having the day9 recording. It would feel more like a part of the song instead of a comical reference. And everyone knows what "funday monday" refers to anyway.
My last comment is very taste based, and you may or may not agree. It's about the storyline of the song. The first 2 and a half paragraphs are the best in my eyes, because they convey the point of view of a Protoss player having difficulties against marauders. Then the story goes on and the player realizes he has collosi so supposedly he solved all his marauder related problems. I'm not sure what the 2 blue flame helion lines have to do with the story (although it's a great rhyme). Then the Terran has air, and the connection to funday monday. I want to stress again that this is a personal taste comment and your way is definitely one way to go about it, but I would want to see a more marauder related second half of the song in a song titled "those damn marauders". Perhaps the Protoss player tries some things to counter the marauders but gets owned by marauders nevertheless? Maybe his charge zealots get kited? Maybe he puts a bunch of cannons in his expansion's ramp and he gets marauders dropped behind them? Perhaps it's possible to tie that to funday monday as well, maybe a marauder only build (although I suspect some do that even without funday monday...)?

Great feedback! Thanks =)
great parody, hopefully this doesnt get taken down cos metallica are too stupid to realise what free publicity is
Didn't use the original song as the backing as you might have noticed, so hoping to avoid that, never know though.
It was decent, but the volume balance between the background song and your voice was the main problem (Voice too loud). I guess your mic isn't really stupid quality, and there isn't much you can do about that. Just trying to give constructive criticism.

Rofl.
Well nope, there was a fairly fierce debate when the word rape was used by a caster in the Dreamhack Invitational, so that is a strawman argument at best.

My cousin is gay and he calls himself gay and everyone he knows gay. I asked him one day if he thought it was appropriate to do that he told me " If i were to say some other insult they would be just as offended and gay is my insult of choice in most situations"
I really don't think its a big deal. In my experience It usually bored people without much to do that have the time to get so worked up over nothing. You'd think most people would have developed thicker skin. In my mind it essentially the same to get worked up over someone calling me a "poopy head"

Too late.... this threads going to blow up now even though the OP acknowledged he made a mistake.

Yeah, cause Metallica will sure get a lot of publicity from this song. *facepalm*
Gay is a slang word used by many to mean nothing more than "silly". Its offensive yes, but dont go hounding everyone who says it as if they clearly went out of their way to offend homosexuals.
I guess im helping derail this but it was a great parody, love metalica myself so this was great.
Also that day9 enterance at the end was perfect haha
Great lyrics, and glad its not rap like most other sc parodies i hear. Obviously your not aspiring to be a professional singer but you did well with what you have and its better than what i could have done. Of course the production and balancing could be improved but that's a matter of finding people with the right equipment to do the job so for what you are working with it was great.
Side note: nobody seriously thinks that the context in which he used that word has anything to do with homosexuals. Almost all words that used to be homosexual slurs have now come to be general insults of someone being annoying or an asshole regardless of sexual orientation, partly because most people have gotten over having problems with homosexuality (im mostly talking about the younger generations that regularly use these words in this way) It really is just like that south park episode on the other homosexual slur, the way it is used has absolutely nothing to do with actually being gay.

There was? The most I saw that mentioned was actually in the discussion of the LagTV/NASL thing, where people were saying "Well DeMusliM didn't get any flack for using the word, so why should the LagTV guys?"
I'll take your word that there was a debate though - but I don't really think you can draw comparisons between the two situations. One is a professional, worldwide broadcasted event, the other is a song some guy whipped up in his spare time.
And I stand by my statement that people wouldn't care so much if this song used the word 'rape' instead of 'gay'.
All of the above lead to songs with the words 'rape' or 'raped' in them. I could not find a single criticism of the song writers for using the word. But then this guy comes along and uses the word 'gay', and he gets jumped on right away.
I think that's bullshit tbh.
(Just to clarify, I'm merely saying I find it ridiculous how this guy gets jumped on for using the word 'gay' in his song, where other songs use 'rape' and nobody cares. I'm not trying to apply this to the whole community, because I'm sure you can go and find songs where the word 'gay' is used without any outcry.)
