KL has pretty much no poverty maybe 1.4% or something from some World bank statistics. Overall a decent place to live, less rude douchebags too. And come on, Canada has a stable government? Have you read the news lately? Also, disregard haters =) FXOBoss can make the counter intuitive decisions necessary for success. G L H F!!!!

Thanks for the educated post, very refreshing. I am good at what I do, and that is not play starcraft But create businesses. Which is why I can get a bit hot tempered when people start bashing me about my decisions.. Its possible this could be my one failure, but I don't think that will happen. Seeing as though, the house already belonged to us before we started our e-sports project, we make more than enough to compete with the likes of GSL without sponsors (Although we always welcome sponsors) and our team is full of great people. I dont see any failure. At least not near term. Malaysian politics are a bit iffy, but 99.99% of the time the government only bothers the locals. Crime is minimal, and far less organised than the likes of the united states and canada, and its more likely to get someone throwing a stone at you, than pointing a gun at you. Just incomparison to say, I dno... Washington DC. I visit the states often enough, to know that Malaysias lifestyle is a perfect environment for e-sports. At least for now. But I'm not psychic, all I can do is my best

But I'm not psychic, all I can do is my best Data from here http://siteresources.worldbank.org/INTMALAYSIA/Resources/324392-1303882224029/malaysia_ec_monitor_apr2011_full.pdf KL has 1.1 % of the nations poor, so overall it's not ideal, but decent enough. And no guns =) doesn't that make you feel safer already? As for the Malaysian envt, there's a growing culture of gaming in PC cafes, it's quite popular, but there's no true competitive "e-sports" scene. At best a few local tourneys. haven't been there for 3 years now so I don't know how it's like currently, especially with SC2. Government is pretty shitty, but not really different from any other government. Good luck man, hope u get sponsors. =) Edit: some extra info on the travel issue, historically, Malaysia or specifically Malacca was an important nautical trade centre and Malay was sorta the "lingua franca" used in over 80 countries. (from my 10th grade history textbook) So just saying it'd be a good choice if you want the best of both worlds having the ability to travel to Europe and NA (about 12 hours depending on location and how many connecting flights) as well as being a short hop and skip away from Korea (about 5 hours)

DotA is actually very popular here, every young male in Malaysia knows or plays the game, and we've held big DotA LAN tournaments with European and Chinese teams participating before. Though it might be harder for SC2 to take off here considering its price and how there's no way to pirate it (to play online).
