I like the NASL, it has a great scale and there have been some good matches.
The casters are good when discussing the game, theres real knowledge there and they are building a better dynamic with each other.
The last thing that could be said is that they are boring in my opinion, which is partly the problem. The banter is what keeps it entertaining in the early game where both players are super standard. It varies between funny and awkward stop talking now moments. Sometimes its hard to listen to, they say some things you'd hope they be wise enough to stay clear of but even then its entertaining like a car crash. Half the time I think they make such blatant gaffes on purpose to inject that live broadcast feeling into replays!
I tried to subscribe but didn't have a debit card option but on hearing that the VODs are locked to the highest settings I probably wouldn't have used it as much.
So to answer the original question 1. A debit card purchase option, cause paying my credit card bill is time off my lunch hour :D 2. VODs in lower resolutions. 3. Someone on standby with an air horn pointed at the casters faces to honk everytime they go near race, politics or other dangerous topics :p

I don't particularily care one way or the other for his casting, or appearance, or anything of that sort. However, as a human being with the failing of being judgemental, it is difficult for me to support a league with someone who is this unprofessional consistantly representing you on these forums, on his podcasts, etc, etc.
There is nothing wrong with his attitude when it comes to being a player. Indeed, its interesting to have three-dimensional players, some being manner, others being less so. It adds a different level of interest to the game (I'm a big fan of FBH). However, having Incontrol represent you on these forums, whether he's doing it officially or not, is reflecting very poorly on your tournament. He reacts like an adolescant. He's definitely not impartial. He's only apologetic in a sarcastic, last effort kind of way.
None of these are failings of his as a human or gamer, but as someone who represents something that is supposed to seem professional, and especially a tournament that he, himself is competing in, it just reflects very poorly on your organization.
Now I know I'll get a lot of "but he started it all," and fair enough, I'm sure he did. But if he could be mature about this and realize that the best thing he can do for it is let it go, it would be beneficial to the tournament and community.
I found myself cheering against incontrol last night, and realized it wasn't because I disliked him as a gamer, but because I disliked him as an organizational rep. Please allow me to enjoy both him as a gamer and the NASL as a tournament and just go your separate ways.
PS. Regardless of the tone of this post, I accept that others disagree with me. I also accept that my opinion alone isn't sufficient to actually cause a change on this level. I'm merely offering my personal, honest opinion. Flame away.
I totally agree with you. Having iNcontrol in front of NASL is like having Idra as a costumer support specialist, he might know what he's doing but his attitude is extremely bad.
iNControl's attitude has been pretty good given the tone of 90% of the feedback. There's def areas the NASL can improve in.... the biggest I see are:
1) Stream Lag -- if they can just get it lagless, this will be huge 2) Some oddities in editing (they will get better at this for sure, they just started...)
But given the you-know-what storm of people wanting their money back and people personally insulting most of the folks involved with the NASL, I think they've held their tongues fairly well. iNControl is a bit defensive as was seen on the SOTG, but he's working his butt off... likely losing a lot of sleep and people just aren't getting that. The NASL is really exciting. They have a sick player pool and the games have been out of this world. Casting/Fashion/Style will all improve in time (and I personally don't think it's even that bad atm, I am really enjoying myself and am thankful I bought an HD season pass... and I'll be doing it again).
The technical issues do need attention though, but I just wish people would direct their feedback in a constructive way. This is the only way NASL will improve. If you bash it and lynch it as most do now.... it's just going to keep going the way it is. (I do realize there are many mature and level-headed suggestions in this thread, and I think it's great that the community is not afraid to say what could be improved, and why....but these posts are often buried in internet shenanigans which is a real shame).
I haven't watched much of the divisional play to be fair, I'm not sure the format is ideal to bring in maximum viewers but that can't be changed so, one small commentating suggestion (which has been great so far, I guess this is more of a nitpick); commentators are saying "oh no nevermind I'm sorry..." or "excuse me i mean..." when they get stuff wrong, don't worry about it so much guys with time you'll make very few mistakes if any, I don't think you should point them out when you make them, just roll with it and take a mental note for later.
The games I've watched so far have been really entertaining, maybe I've been lucky also but I have only had very minor stream issues in the very beginning, also the sound wasn't as bad as the nErErErErerds made out (thnx for that one tasteless). NASL has been great at responding to all the issues the community have brought up, I'm really liking the noticeable improvements that have been made from day 1.
I watched NASL-3:2 this afternoon and I noticed the music in the background. Background music is nice, but NASL uses a random playlist and during the chat between games it was a bit too loud. Also it would be cool with a special music sound bite during the pauses and not just some random rock tune.
I like that NASL has brought in Khaldor he brings humour and a perceptive eye to the casting.
I was watching the NASL last night and when the game ended I noticed Artosis was in the game lobby.
Not gunna lie, that kind of bothers me. Even though it *is* Artosis, and he is awesome, why should he be allowed in the lobby of a tournament game?
An even broader question, If Artosis is allowed in the lobby but not playing, why cant other people?
*Edit - An expansion of that question.
Heres a marketing idea. Sell VIP tickets, a ridiculous price to sit in on any b.net tourny yourself. You also, as a by product, get the replay. Make this ridiculously expensive.
You might ask, why wouldn't there be trolls? Simple, have the observer mute all vip's.

Because he's Artosis, I imagine. Not everybody is equal and last I checked they were under no moral obligation to let everybody spectate the games, so it's their call and if the players probably don't have objections then there's nothing to fuss about.
As far as NASL suggestions, just fix the lag spikes (whether it be bad isp, whatever) and I'll have basically 0 complaints.
I have enjoyed the NASL very much. I subscribed to my HD pass right away. They got a solid foundation and I hope it does well. Great players, diverse map pool and I like the non-polished no-nonsense look to it.
Geoff, you guys rock. You guys ARE professional casters I appreciate your efforts.
Yeah, the lag has been a problem but I'm confident it'll get there
Bought the subscription and am enjoying it so far. The only things I would change have been stated by many others many times:
1. Less time between matches (a few minutes would be good) 2. Video quality options for VODs (I'd like to be able to watch VODs on my netbook, but it can't handle them currently.
Other than those, which should not be construed as complaints, awesome work. I've not been bothered by, and actually have enjoyed some of the hiccups that were occurring (minus the map problem in Tyler's match).
Please fix the camera view of the caster, you should have it more close up. It looks very dry and impersonal when its so much space around the caster. Look at all professional productions, CNN, ESPN, etc. they always have a tighter camera view than NASL. It can be acceptable to have a zoomed out view if two or more casters are in the picture.
ESPN: Here you can see that they switch between viewing both commentators and close-ups. NASL only use the zoomed out view, even though they only have one commentator in at the desk.

Seriously guys, his attitude is great. You might have a problem with how he's been dismissive of certain kinds criticism, but to be frank, some of the criticism is really kind of petty. Or contradictory. Or ludicrous.
Honestly, what do you guys think Bob Costas or Artosis or the average commentator does with public criticism? They pretty much ignore it entirely.
InControl is not a customer service rep at a call center in India. He has no obligation to answer to any one other than his boss. They're the only people who would care about InControl's 'attitude' that matter.
Please stop saying things like "Makes them stronger *quick pause* in relativity". I am not sure if it is proper English but to the average person it sounds silly. Please work on saying things as simply as possible without all the added fluff. It takes way too long and takes away from the action.
Lol they actually zoomed in the casters and changed they backstage settings. Did they actually listen to my advice or did they figurte it out by themselves? :D
As of today, Casting is great, Geoff and Gretorp sound natural and are giving us a great performance New backgrounds between games looks cool, however the music is a little to loud.Overall the audio sounds great. Casters are not clipping and the levels during the games are great. Grats you guys @ NASL. I here by declare thee FUCKING AMAZING!
EDIT PS. LOL Axslav does make some amazing pylons!
I think they need to have a better choice or more variety in music. The music makes it feel like a football broadcast and makes me want to mute everything. Especially during interviews, they need to lower the volumes of the music.
I had my doubts at the start but I'm absolutely loving every cast now. The production is fine and I actually regularly laugh out loud at the Incontrol & Gretorp show.
Use victory music like this . It sounds more suiting and its not really pop or rock so therefore you wont favour anyone's taste in music.
Also when after you show your introduction animation, as soon are you show the casters for the first time of the show, have music that is upbeat like this:
In my head: First 12 seconds play intro of the song... afterwards lower the sound of the music and casters begin talking.. I'm sure it motivates and pumps viewers veins to continue to watch more..
