Hi guys, I am Beta. I am one of the oldest sc2 shoutcasters from Taiwan since Starcraft II Close Beta. I visit TL.net alot but I don't post that much at all. But today I have 3 videos to share with you!
As some of you might know, Artosis came to Taiwan last weekend (LINK), I had a chance to go around with him and friends from Blizzard Taiwan. We had Taiwanese style hotpot for dinner, then we visited TeSL(Taiwan e-sport league) TV studio. Below are the videos:

I'm not sure when Artosis will post the videos he took in Taiwan but I am waiting for them, also he promised he will bring tasteless next time! Also Kelly (Link) is looking forward to cast TeSL too (maybe in English?!), I can't wait!

Hmm after watching that 2nd video and he mentions his gf is right there I can't help but focus on trying to find which one it is <.<. My hunch is on the girl in the green jacket in the 3rd video but I'm not sure.
Glad to see Artosis is getting a celebrity status going.

Did Artosis tried any other food other than those shown on the video? Even though stinky tofu is part of the Taiwan cuisine, but they like to show to the foreigner due to the disgusting factor.
If I remembered correctly he is a vegetarian so I bet the choice must be very very limited. It is sad, there are alot of delicious cuisine in Taiwan that has meat.
Nice videos, but I was most surprised by the news about White-Ra, I'm curious why no one else has mentioned it publically, it's pretty big news. Does this mean White-Ra will show up in the TESL when they decide to open it up to foreigners?

Seriously, you can smell that stuff a mile away and your first thought is that a sewage is leaking somewhere. You've really got to go to Taiwan to understand (and you should, it's awesome).
Great videos, I hope this does really well there. Its a pretty great way so set the bar for other countries that are looking into starting something like this. The Nasl will be great and I realize that performing all of this isn't likely. However the actual lan event should imitate this!
White-ra has signed with a TeSL team? This is new news right!? this is the first I've heard this. So he'll be living and working in Taiwan full-time. This is so exciting ^^ I want more details!
I don't like translating "Chou" to "Stinky" because I feel that the words have two different connotations in the languages--I guess for foreigners it's much more of a learned taste. In my experience you never eat the stuff by itself, it's usually an additive for something else to enhance the taste.

It's not quite that simple. I think they've said in the past that in future seasons each team will be allowed to sign maybe one or two foreigners (but there is a small feeling that foreigners are better, so they don't want to make the TeSL allowed to have unlimited foreigners) and eventually they will be on the team. I think this signing is probably just a preemptive thing, to lock him up for the future, but it doesn't mean he will be going there immediately, my guess is he'd go there whenever they start allowing foreigners by maybe next season, and whitera will probably play for them for a season or two.
I think its all a really cool idea, I mean I'm asian american (hong kong) don't really speak or understand mandarin very well any more, but something about a SC2 televised league in a country that speaks mandarin (I wish there were one in hong kong that spoke cantonese, that'd be amazing for me haha) just makes me feel really excited and very anxious to follow every bit of it. Even IF the TeSL is not at the same caliber of play as the GSL for example, the fact that it is Chinese just makes me that much more excited. I guess its how someone who is Korean would feel about the GSL

In cantonese, when I hear the word I think more like, aromatic, has a strong smell, rather than stinky lol, theres a lot of words that are like this though I agree.

Yeah shes one of the only other foreigners in the vods really. At one point she even stands next to him like "Thats my man!". Good vods, cool to see Artosis away from the Gsl. Artosis is a lucky guy :D.

LOL i cant believe artosis tried it...most white people wouldn't go near that stuff. definitely an acquired taste, kinda like blue cheese (except smellier). i love fried smelly tofu...havent had that in sooo long!

Great job by the Taiwaneses. They are pusheing e-sports forward, I really hope their SC2 League will meet great success. I also hope in 1 year or 2 they'll match koreans equally

Also I'm mighty impressed at how Taiwanese seem to embrace SC2 with passion and joyfullness. Alot of Koreans do this aswell but it just feels like the broader korean mass is always waiting for something... like the people who don't start to dance at a danceclub because they feel theres to few people dancing and if they'd start to dance it be awkward: Whilst Taiwan just snorts a strip of powdered pwnadge and starts breakdancing the shit out of the floor, going home with all the hot girl nerds.

She is the big white girl that you see in 2 of the videos, the one with the camera taking pictures.

Well that's fine and all but it still doesn't excuse the creepy comments and the one outright hostile comment from earlier, the news about White-Ra is much more interesting in my opinion.
Well at the GSL world championship tournament few days ago, I saw WriteRa's Jacket has a Tt E-sport on the back. Not sure if write ra is coming to Taiwan to join the team but he's definitely sponsored by Tt esport.
Stinky tofu...IT'S SO GOOOD. Although I think a lot of foreigners get put off too much by the smell. You gotta learn to ignore the smell and embrace the taste of the tofu.
Artosis should be so proud for being such an awesome guy, all the years of starcraft in his room is paying off such dividends, getting to travel to different countries and living in a different country. I envy you sir <3.
