So if they didn't get the stats and the feedback you wanted to give, not 100% their fault. maybe nobody played them cause they were absolutely no fun to begin with? imagine if some of the gsl maps would have been on the ptr, i can guarantee you many would have played prt.

So if they didn't get the stats and the feedback you wanted to give, not 100% their fault. No one played it cause the maps were dumb. So they respond by putting in all the dumb maps and removing one of the best, if not the best map in the pool? right...

People did play and many high level players left detailed explanations on what changes the maps needed, but didnt even consider any of them at all. Go to the PTR forum your self if you dont believe me there are hundreds of posts.....

But this still remains an issue of what question you are asking, are the maps better than the gsl maps? No Are the maps better than the ones they are replacing? Oh my god yes. This might not be the ideal maps that I would want but it is a serious upgrade from what we had previously. Blistering Sands replaced with a bigger 4 player maps which means more bases and it is easier to split the map, it has a natural that is both easier to take than the blistering sands natural but there also is no back door into the main anymore. Lost temple replaced with a modified version with no high ground at the natural harass. Shakuras gone yeah, but replaced with a map that is just as big and imo has much better geography for the expansions. I don't know if there are once again restrictions so that you can't spawn in close positions but if that is the case then it is a great map. Slag pit is not really a good map unless again there is a restriction so you can't spawn in certain positions, but it is still better than steppes of war.

Sadly not. I had my first 1v1 on Slag Pit and got close spawns. They're very close, pretty sure you can run from your base to the enemy base in 20-25 seconds, and the natural is very very easy to deny.

There's no close third ... I'm not sure who that helps. Terran. Map is just as bad for Protoss vs Terran as it is for Zerg right now

It'd be funny if there was no changes based on the feedback everybody said was very important to give them. The corner semi-island expansions on Shattered Temple (aka. TestMap1) now have 8 mineral patches instead of 7. On Typhon Peaks (aka. TestMap2) the rocks blocking the 12 and 6 expansions were removed, and the side paths now have rock piles at both ends instead of just one in the middle. TestMap5, which had backdoor rocks between mains like Shakuras Plateau, is not on the ladder. There were some other minor changes, but these are the obvious ones.

Down the road of course I'd love to see the GSL maps put in, but I'll take what I can get for now.

We're just starting to have GOOD custom maps in tournaments now. 90% of TL LOVES them so far. They are here to stay. Anything worse from Blizzard is an utter failure and an admission that the ladder is dead and irrelevant. That's why people are complaining. I'm pretty sure any BW player already knew this would happen though.

Also those expos will be easy to defend for T/P while Z will have hard time... like tanks from gold to blue... =/ Im not sure. And the next thing Shakuras gone. DQ stays. Well Shakuras really had one way to be bad, that was close position TvsZ. But all other MU+positions looked very well. I'm sad =( But not to diss Blizzard they are trying and at least the maps that have been removed were really bad and so its a good decision. Overall the trade seems okay for us ![]()

But that's it. Slug Pit is just a hybrid of Blistering Sands and Steppes. Typhoon also is not as big and very tight at every point of the map. I just don't see the improvement. And even if there is some it's very slightly.
