Are you making them the correct dimensions? As of 1.4, the dimensions are pretty strict for each dds file. They have to match the one you're replacing or they usually cause the video driver bug.

The template won't work for all screens. The one I posted on the website is 1500x808, but the race screens have weird random dimensions, so you'll still need to resize it if you want to use it for those.
