This map pool will be used in at least the following competitions in February - SteelSeries Go4SC2 - Diamond+ Skill Cups - King of, Random Race and Late Night Cups - 1on1 Ladder- Open Cups and more to be announced Says that on the site. Did I read that correctly? Is Blizzard actually doing this??? ESL has their own 1v1 ladder. So no, trust me if it was Blizz using them there would be a post for that instead lol! I know this seems like a daft question but have you talked to the Blizzard eSports team? Maybe they will listen.

Edit: Opps, need to read before I post

Looking forward to any Testbug games. I expect most commentators to spend the first few games going on about its (awesome) terrain.

From what I have understood Iccup have been talking to the E-Sports quite a lot. At least that is what I have understood from WoC shows where they have discussed the situation.

Testbug kind of reminds me of the BW map Fantasy. Looks great!

Testbug looks awesome. Sure I don't know how the balance there will look like but just from the looks the designer did a wonderful work.

Just played a match on testbug, it's pretty nice. But just one thing. A couple of the geysers are located right on the edge of a cliff. So if you play terran and you build a refinery your scv can get stuck behind the refinery when it gets it's first barrel of gas, leaving you with no option but to either medvac it out or to give it a honorable death. The geysers in question are the bottom geysers of the 5 o'clock gold & the base behind that

This is great. Finally, it begins...

The two player map looks really interesting too. There's not really a map like that in the map pool at the moment, it would be interesting to see how games turn out.

[Artosis mode ] This is HUGE!!![/Artosis mode]

I'm not sure everyone using different custom maps is a very good idea... Cause i believe the plan is for ESL to test the waters with custom maps and ICCup maps are way more know in EU than the gsl ones. If this works out i bet we will have some ESL specific maps (hopefully designed by Iccup mapmaking team) eg. ESL Take'sCouch.
If you want to make a brand you dont use the ideas of competition. You want your own brand. Imagine ESL guys talking to sponsors: ESL:"We have a successful SC2 leagu and cups and we even have special custom maps for them" Sponsor:"Thats nice but why that map has a writting "Made by Greetech for GSL use"? ESL:"..."

Thanks for pointing that. I fixed the problem at the gold expo. However, i didn't see any issue in the base behind the gold at 5 o'clock, but i put some blockers behind the gas in case if it not happens in every game.

The best thing about the ICCUP maps is that ESL could influence the balancing on a very direct way.
We've seen tons of changes already. Most of the time u tell an ICCUP guy "Hey there is an issue with this spot, tanks can.... blawblaw" and the mapmaker is most of the time fixing the issue within hours. GSL maps are difficult to influence, also I believe it is good for the western community to have an own system and to be not THAT dependent on the korean community (which might be slower anyway due to the lower popularity)

I'm not too happy about it. I rather watch matches on maps i know :<.
But innovation and new maps that provides more balance is always good.
Two sides of the coin I guess =)

Blizzard gonna kill this maps by puting their own ones but better (shakuras type) soon or later.

I am really glad Testbug was chosen, I enjoy that map. Also nice to see new maps in the rotations.

Testbug looks amaaazing!
Props to ESL for putting in ICCUP maps, lets hope blizzard follows suit...

This is such great news and should be supported in every way. It's not an easy decision with Blizzard always looking at your fingers to use maps that aren't from Blizzard in the biggest and best-known leagues and tourneys in Europe. Great move ESL!
Although I'm sceptical about the second map's balance, I'm not worried at all because if balance issues come up I'm 100% sure they will either replace the map or fix it.
Was Pawn Re chosen because they wanted a bigger and a smaller map?
