Personally, I think custom hotkeys are a natural evolution of the game and that Blizzard never would have implemented them without the intention of tournament use. If they are in the game they'll be allowed almost certainly

I am very sure custom hotkeys are allowed because the way it is now it is just like using Standard or Grid. The settings are stored inside your Bnet profile and not like you need any external device or program to set it.
Disallowing Custom profile hotkeys will be similar to disallowing players from using Non-Standard Hotkeys ( such as Grid) and that is very very very unlikely.

Wow, this patch would make for a great B-day present for ya! (unless you lied about the date when you registered for TL, lol)

Just FYI, even if the reset did come, you are still stuck with it because your MMR will persist and carry over to the new season. What will happen if you have dropped as low as platinum is you will do only 1 placement as formality to ensure you are still active, and you will be placed where you were before the reset.
Unless your concern is with the win-loss ratio then i guess that one do get wiped out. Although if i am not wrong they mentioned that prev seasons records are still accessible. I can't recall where I saw that info from though.

I believe you are referring to macros (the ability to issue multiple commands/keystrokes from a single user imput/keystroke) - they are against the tos/eula. Hotkeys (such as being able to reassign a single keystroke into a different keystroke) is fine (and now possible with 1.2).

I am glad for the Master League arriving. This will put away all the useless posts mentioning low mid or high diamond. All people would mention those sections for was to make themselves look to be better than they were. No one mentioned low mid or high platinum. Master league being the top 5 or 10% or whatever of diamond will be a much better indicator of the most active and most competitive players.
Looking forward to this great patch.

ckw - Blizzard said that they will delay the ladder reset to patch 1.3 cuz they found new "bugs" that they have to take care of. I dont remember when i read it tho

I was waiting for that, and I think, as custom hotkey configs are now a part of the standard game configuration (not a third party software), tourneys like the GSL and other will HAVE to accept them.I think they don't have a choice. Talking about the subject I'm thinking about doing a nice little trick, binding the side buttons of my mouse to "K" and "L", and using them on starcraft, I already did the test and its working, but I dont know if such a thing would be allowed on the tourneys, as its relying on software other than the actual game.

I'm curious to see this play out. Will this patch help raise zerg past their 23%(top 200, Grandmaster), or will they continue to decline downwards? Only time will tell. Also, I'm wondering if the % of T's and P's will even out with the protoss buffs and slight terran nerf. Maybe we will be seeing a nice 40% T / 40% P / 5% R / 15% zerg in the future grandmaster league?
It will be interesting. What do you guys think?

Still no clan feature on battlenet huh? It's so retarded to not have something like that. It would be so simple for competitive players to join up your clan on battlenet and get a clan tag in your nick instead of now, if you have a clan tag and you switch team you can't remove it if you don't buy a new account (zzzz).

Guess we will soon find out what the Master League cutoff will be...
Or has there been confirmation of what it is? I know blizz said at one point it was going to be top 1-2% of diamond, and later 5%. All the master league people on the SEA server I've seen were top 200 prior to promotion o.O

Looking forward to this great patch. yes, now everyone will mention low mid or high masters, because top10% diamond still has quite a huge skill gap.
But it will be like "low, mid or high" high diamond right now. Much more indicative.

I believe you would not be allowed to change the button 4/5 on your mouse to K/L (due to the software/drivers needed), however, you should be able to simply change whatever in game hotkey you were going to use K/L for to mouse 4/5.
I could be wrong on both issues, but that's my understanding.

No I have already tried that, 1.2 doesnt recognize my side mouse buttons as keys, so I have to bind them to "keyboard keys" to use them

NA will be down for another 23 minutes.
I cant wait till i can use my f2-f4 keys. I also see that they have an option to show hotkeys in the bottom right display. I know theres still a few upgs i dont consistantly know the hotkeys too (mainly like 4 of the icons in the starport techlab.
