No most people just mentioned that as a reference, not to brag. No one mentions high platinum because there is no high platinum. If you get high enough in platinum you get promoted. There are no > 3000 plat players, or gold, or silver. That's because these players get promoted to a higher league.
Besides why would you mention your relative position in any league besides the highest? That doesn't even make sense. higher plat ratings have an equivalent diamond ranking. mid/high diamond ratings have no equivalent rating in any other league.
There is still a pretty big skill gap in the top 5% in diamond, so I'm willing to bet there will be a difference in low/mid/high masters league players. Although the high master league are the top players, which will probably be put into grandmaster league when it is released.

I'll probably wind up having to go back to default keys anyway, hehe.
