But what about Hydralisks, I just don't see why it was such a big deal in the first place.

terran is starting to dominate the top 200/diamond more and more. This answer is correct.

Yes. I'm sure it was exactly and only that. It had nothing to do with hurting the Infestor and the Zerg's ability to deal with air units even more while simultaneous buffs to Protoss air happened. It was only because of complaining on a forum.

This is hopefully a sign of good things to come with the PTR, Blizzard has demonstrated the willingness to listen to the community and be flexible.

Do Hydras suck or am I missing something?

well they are good against phoenixes but can't do much damage to the rest of the ground army.and they are slow without creep.
lets qq about the map pool and see where that goes.

Hydra's are deathly slow, muta's are very fast. Hydra's worked well against muta's when you could lock them down with FG though
And if you went hydra and your opponent went muta, he could basically wipe out your base and still have time to fly back to his before your hydra's even got there.

They are much slower than mutas. They can just jump around and keep you in your base with no way to actually kill more than one.

I wish Blizzard would have done the same with all the protoss tears (reverting back the changes) after all those consecutive nerfs Well guess toss doesn' t have the same priority as zerg has
About the patch: I think reverting back the fungal growth is a good idea because most noobs never used it anyway. A lot of people who complain (except the high level ones) have prolly not used it ever in the first place It matters @ high level play, it didn't @ low level play.

It seems large, but you have to take into account chrono boost which gets worse as the build time decreases, so really it's only a 6.6 second reduction, if they reduced it by 5 seconds it would be a 3.3 second reduction which would be almost indistinguishable.
*Edit* fixed math... I think.

I think the PTR was the real difference. As opposed to 'because it is zerg'.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some other tweaks to compensate for having FG air back. I doubt they are just going to give it back and leave it.

With twice the range if upgraded and half the attack rate, I don't see how Mutas could be very troublesome for some Hydras. But I don't play Zerg so I really don't know that match up very well.

That's not correct. On creep Hydra's speed is 3.375 while Mutalisks are 3.75 Off creep there is even less chance obviously.

My mistake, misread, thank you for the correction.

I don't think they are quite as fast but I'm not sure. Even if it is say they hit your workers and then they back out and fly to your expo. Then you go to your expo and they fly back to your main. So you split your hydras and then he goes hunting overlords. So you pull them back, if you haven't already. Your not killing many mutas, hes holding you in your base and has total map control. All the while getting tons more mutas.

Welcome to T & P world.

Zerg doesn't have anti air crawling in their T1 tech tree

• The Ultralisk’s arc-shaped damage area is now centered at the front of the Ultralisk instead of at its center. FINALLY theyr worth making again ftw

Nope, read the thread on ultra change

Hydras are not really that close to Muta movespeed. Mutas are 3.75 and on-creep Hydras are 2.85-2.95 or so (not totally sure). Anyway they are not an adequate solution to Muta harass. Unlike Stalkers (Blink) or Thors (10 range) there's no reason to ever lose a Muta to Hydras without FG, never mind that Terran have the best anti-air building by miles, Protoss have Phoenixes, and Spores are utterly awful for 125 minerals.
Any way you cut it, non-Spire Zerg without FG for anti-air would have a much harder time dealing with Muta harass than either other race. All this childish "welcome to TvZ/PvZ" gibberish is pure garbage.
