As for phoenix kiting you do realize that you can run away with your mutas then as they chase instantly turn around and the phoenix will slide into your range cause it has to decelerate before it pulls back. As a Toss player I anticipate you doing that, you might get one or two phoenix that way but you'll lose a lot of mutas.

Can some folks who've put some games in on 1.2 give their impression on patch changes from their experience with actual game play? I'm really curious how "4sz(hold)" compares to "4sz,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z,z" in terms of changes to macro play, as well as the overall impact of the infestor nerf. I can tell you right now that as a Protoss player, I'm highly annoyed by having to press "G" every time I want a warpgate changed. When you're dealing with drops in two places while trying to add on more gateways, it was much easier to just double click and hold G, while doing other things. This change frustrates me. I can't imagine how Zergs are feeling.

My impression: by changing my hotkeys a bit I can now spam units as fast as before. I've also learned a lot about what I have been doing subconsciously, for example... Currently, and on PTR: A group of morphing Corrupters, Overlords, buildings or tumours can all be cancelled with one press of ESC. Currently: Banelings are morphed and cancelled one at a time, but by holding down the hotkey there is very little difference. PTR: Baneling morph and cancel needs to be spammed. I never knew I was cancelling unit morphs different ways until PTR forced me spam keys. If you want a sneak peak at how it will affect you, play an endless game on YABOT and everytime you hold down a key, type /r, and try again.

You do realize Phoenixs have more range, faster movement, higher DPS, and more HP than Mutalisks do right? you also realize that mutalisks are much more efficient at raping economy than phoenixes are right? I just don't feel that a harrasser unit should outright win the game for you thats my opinion

As for the "hold hotkey" change.... wtf?????? I'll LOVE spamming r(oach) key and z key for sure. Right? Right? Also seems completely nonsensical, downgrading the interface?? The rest is ok and nice but those two... yeah.

I don't have PTR installed to try it, but if you set ctrl + 6 AND esc + 6 for control group 6, maybe it would work?

ive got about 70 games played (diamond 50-20) so far and really haven't noticed anything significantly different, still to early to tell though the changes probably effect Terran the least as well so that may be why i havent experienced much change

From my post on the Blizzard Forums: "Hello all. I have recently had the pleasure of experiencing the new live test, and I am sad to report that I am no longer able to play my favorite game. I am a disabled gamer, living with moderate carpel tunnel syndrome as well as RSI (repetitive strain injury) in my hands due to work related conditions in conjunction with an older hand injury. Starcraft has never been an easy title for me to enjoy due to my hand pain. Frequent breaks, an ergonomic keyboard as well as physical therapy directed by my orthopedic surgeon have allowed me to play with relatively negligible pain. Tragically, this has all come to a screeching halt following the seemingly minor change to patch 1.2.0. The new inability to hold down keys to produce units has caused me excruciating pain in my hands and fingers after only a single game, a feeling which in the past I would only experience after hours of gaming without breaks. While for many average gamers this change is only annoying and fatigue inducing, there are many of us disabled gamers who rely on this ability to play the game without further injury or extreme pain. At worst, this change is shoving at risk gamers headfirst towards repetitive strain injury. Perhaps us disabled gamers are just not a consideration for Blizzard or perhaps ergonomics and the physical well being of the players are not a priority. Either way, this change is seemingly unwarranted and unfairly punishes those of us who are either disabled, or experience pain from excessively repeated keystrokes. It is my humble request that Blizzard carefully balances this change to their game against the very real consequence that it bars though of us with sub-par genetics or injuries from playing one of the three available races all together. Hopefully Blizzard is like many companies nowadays who are kind enough to watch out for those of us who are disabled and will take our plight seriously. Please do not remove my ability to enjoy your title and subjugate me to certain races because of my disability. Starcraft is an incredible title that all of us enjoy, my only hope is that I may be allowed to continue to enjoy it. To my fellow posters: Please do not turn this into a Blizzard flame fest, or a whine thread about the patch changes. This is a very serious issue that effects peoples ability to even play the game at all. Unless you live with a similar condition or are an official Blizzard employee or representative, please refrain from posting in this thread. Thank you for your time - A concerned and hopeful gamer." Is anyone else with carpel tunnel or RSI having an insanely hard time coping with the new change? Enough though I am only a crappy platinum zerg, this new change has made zerg actually unplayable for me.

After all, TLO himself has been having carpal tunnel complications in both hands, and is probably just as worried as you about this change impacting his ability to play zerg. I'd like to hear his take on it.

Especially for those of us that are unable to access the PTR ![]() Any idea how many pylons it takes to block a ramp in the ptr?
