We shall see. Changing it to the center was idiotic. It will still be worse than it was before patch and hotfix since the current radius is less than the worst case scenario before. They are currently effective as a tech switch since Zerg can remax his army using Ultras faster than other races but on a per cost basis they will still probably be below par.


as long as the splash is better than it is now. right now its really shit =/

Holy crap the chat channels suck. It even affected party chats. You can only send a certain number of messages in succession before you have to wait. I understand it's to prevent spam but party chats too? What the heck blizzard? I can't even talk to my friends through party chat regularly. And you can't change that setting in private chat channels either. This is total crap. They'd better change it before the actual patch or else there will my some angry people out there.

How exactly do scourge shut down drop harder than infestors? You can drop marines to snipe it or snipe it then go into dropships. It leaves room for micro whereas Infestors immobilized everything while doing damage = no room for micro. I don't care much about this change but saying that infestors are not as good as scourge in defending drops is just wrong.

Thor vs muta is similar, except it doesn't require a click, just for a thor to exist.

As I've seen, there are chat channels with name "Zerg strategy", "Protoss Strategy", etc. If I will click one of them, will I join to any channel with some peoples, ir it will ask me to create new channel?


So, can we join to channels with peoples inside, or we're need to invite? Will be there list of ALL created chat channels, or we need to write any chat-channel name, that we can join inside?

taking away the w hot key wouldn't do anything most good protoss players hot key there gateways anyways to a number so all that means is having to take the 2 actions to click the new gateways and shift click to add to what ever group number you have it for

the same as all other blizzard rts.

there are a few public channels such as 'general chat' 'protoss discussion' where people just join and you can start chatting with them. or you can make your own private channels where people need to type in the channel name to join

I am disappointed with the chat channels. Hopefully they make it more like BW. But I am fine with no chat for now because it gives me more time to actually play the game.

One thing to note: 2 pylon walloff is gone, but 2 bunker walloff is still there, since bunkers are 3x3, rather than 2x2.

Tested on multiple maps, I have replays if anyone needs proof.

Anyone else having an issue trying to access he PTR? I heard those who only recently purchased starcraft can't get in, but I'm a preorder user so I should have that access. Would appreciate any information someone might have.

just a thought, a lot of zergs are worried about having to hit whatever key to build a unit but just an idea, lets say your favorite unit was zergling and you needed to hit z 50 times, you could go customize the hot key set up so say z and x build zergling and spam both at the same time- this is just a possibility

One significant problem with the hotkeys, for zerg at least, is the timing of your army's hatching. Assuming that hitting a key 30 times takes 2-3 seconds, this means that your reinforcements will slowly waypoint single file-ish to the battle. If your opponent even threatens to move out, better forget drones and start spamming...

I honestly don't understand the philosophy behind this change. Let's take the concept further, though. Instead of being able to stim MM all at once, how about one at a time? Because any "good" player (i.e., one with twice Foxer's APM) will easily adjust and be okay? Of course, we can make the same changes with burrow, etc., and every other group action.
We can't forget control groups either, though...why allow such a "bug" when instead the player can just select and move/attack/etc. each unit individually? Going to have to get rid of rallied commands too....

Is the point of the game to be able to hit the keys fast enough, or allocate our limited attention and dexterity to positioning an army, collecting information and making decisions? It seems to me like in an "ideal" world the only limit on the player would be how fast (and well!) one can process information and make corresponding decisions. In this sense, the hotkey limit is ridiculous; if I've already intentionally saved 14 larva and the necessary resources (although this is usually an accident in reality , still pretty new to the game) and I want to start 28 zerglings now, I should be able to transmit my decision as quickly as possible. I thought this was supposed to be a key feature of zerg; weaker units, but quicker to mass up?
